Dead Inside it isn’t that they are faithful to their sound at all. It’s that whenever they make and write music it comes out sounding hail the sunny cuz they’re hail the sun lmao I remember meeting them after a show at revolution and asking them what they were aiming for with culture scars, they said they were just writing music and it came out that way. Such pure, unique artists.
@@Dlg916 cool as hell your comment is, I live in the area and caught them a few times. That’s a great question you asked, one I asked Donovan was, knowing his past drug problems, I was wondering through his words how he got through it
Cool that you share that with us all, I wish I could say the same but Donovan’s powerful lyrics literally pierce the heart experiencing what he elaborates on. Pierces the heart in a bittersweet way
I love this track, but I'm interested in knowing how someone can keep these time signatures and sing while playing drums, that would be impressive to see live.
Saw them on the last CHON and Fall of Troy tour. Like mentioned, they had another drummer. But he did drum like 3 songs while also singing. It was pretty insane to watch him do both at the same time, and pretty cleanly too.
I love how the vibe and concept of the song work here: The concept is of a house he shared with friends and had very meaningful times in; but the vibe is very melancholic... the type i'd usually associate with reminiscing about a particularly troubling/influential romantic relationship. In a world where a very bland and homogenised concept of 'love' pollutes the majority of musical concepts - it's exciting to hear the same musical tropes of love and bittersweet romance applied to a very personal moment in the singer's life. Like any moment in our lives can be reflected on like a lost love and have the same type of importance to our souls.
Silverstein, Brand New, Manchester Orchestra, Circa Survive, Nothing More, The Dear Hunter, and now Hail the Sun put out a record this year. What a fantastic year in music. Now if Only La Dispute can surprise us..
You all forgot two very important new records. Hollywood Undead just released a great one for rap rock, and in December, Story of the Year will release a new record for the first time in 7 years. There are already 2 amazing tracks released for that.
This is a special song . I tend to find myself singing the chorus and the words ' Did i do it right , did i do it riigghhtt ' time to time . Ive listened to a lit of Hail the sun , this sing still sticks out , it has just a personal vine to the song . I think it needs more views .
I always come back to this band when I don't listen to them for a few months and just binge them for the next two months. REALLY sweet timing on my binge cycle and this EP release; good looks. About to be another great release! Wonder if this EP will SOMEHOW top Elephantiasis Everything they have released has been gold!
Hail the sun. Donovan you are the man! This song totally strummed some heart strings. I love this band and I cannot wait until I see them live. Please come to New Jersey
There's so many band's out there these day's but these Guy's have to be my number one favorite band since finding them on Spotify , love the new album!
This is what I really needed right now some new HTS I hope they come back to Massachusetts again soon I missed the last show and I would love to meet my inspiration Donny again cause he's helped me with my written style and gets me through my day that's why I'm so happy they got some new music out cause I really needed this right now been feeling eh lately so this is refreshing

Logan McCauley Same, it had something special. That album got me into them. I enjoyed Culture Scars as well, but man, Wake was so dark and all over your face.
I’ve been a hail the sun fan since pow right in the kisser album. Only band I ever liked all there songs and albums. If I see them live I might cry of happiness lel.
Me and my uncle who introduced me interact music has successfully liked this band, I feel so accomplished haha I don't know why?? But it's such a good feeling to me
What's with the number "1109"? Anytime I noticed the time in my phone, I always see that time and search for that number and eventually lead me to this song
But you kinda don't. Those fuckers ruined plenty of bands/careers. It's just cancer. Toxic. Everything it touches dies. Because it's a parasite for money. HtS would either buy in and get destroyed, or remain independent of that garbage as a means of survival. MTV is just a more musical way of saying TMZ or E!ntertainment
They did when I was a kid. There was a channel called fuse that used to play almost all rock too, but they sold out and went with pop/hip-hop. The idiotic masses don't want art like this:/
Fucking Donovan hooked me with that intro. They are so faithful to their sound it's impressive. I am speechless with this masterpiece.

I love this track, but I'm interested in knowing how someone can keep these time signatures and sing while playing drums, that would be impressive to see live.
christophermarang. They have a touring drummer and he played 80% of the set. However, when he wasn't playing, the singing was phenomenal
thats a little disappointing.
They are very impressive live.
Saw them on the last CHON and Fall of Troy tour. Like mentioned, they had another drummer. But he did drum like 3 songs while also singing. It was pretty insane to watch him do both at the same time, and pretty cleanly too.

Phillip McLeod I can't believe how much I have been out of the loop for my favorite bands. Thank you sir.
Jason LovesABR Kind of the same for me too. Hopefully it's up for next month, then I can throw my money at them.
Jason LovesABR I'll be working too much and listening to this album to focus on it, so I'll gladly wait. But thank you as well.
To old friends and those that I’ve loved and lost. That lyric gets me everytime. This album will be their best out
this song is so amazing. it takes a really good lyricist and musician to make me feel nostalgic for something that i have never experienced
I was listening to Paranoia, the song that got me into Hail The Sun, after a long, difficult day.
Then they drop this on me..
My day is so good now :3
perfection. omfg
Hail the Sun is back!
Maki Productions never left
Godly. I remember when they dropped this before they dropped the entirety of secret wars. Remember exactly where I was when I first jammed this

Jesus Christ do I Iove this song, the emotions those melodies conjure bring tears to my eyes.

I love this song more than I love myself.

Killer song! Great surprise. Killer video work too. Some of those shots hurt my head, so much planning must have gone into syncing the edit that well

Why are you guys so amazing?
Truly angelic
Wow, this song is perfect
Lyrics:
I lived in a house
Whose porch collected cigarettes
And every one I'd smoke held conversations
From the night before
We all connected
Lovers invested
Here
Now we're all gone!
But still...
I drive by it for no reason but can't tell how
It makes me feel
Did I not savor it?
Memory reel
Is it all accurate?
In that house on the corner
There's part of me stuck in the dry wall
We're all connected
Lovers invested here
No one would think of where we'd all end up years
from then
To old friends and those I've loved and lost
I still think of you
I remember what I've learned
Hazy nights seen through a twisted plight
Did I do it right?
Did I do it right?
1-1-0-9
Two years of mine
I'll flash back 96 months in a dream I had this last week
Oh-oh-oh-oh
We're disconnected
Oh-oh-oh-oh
Drug-filled bedrooms plagued part of that home
Tear-eyed partners' remnants haunt the halls
Now we're gone
I drive by but I can't tell how
It makes me feel
Did I not savor it?
Memory reel
Would I still treasure it?
But I do
Here in the dry wall
LOVE THIS
It's weird how this sounds like it could belong to Wake instead of Culture Scars.
Dead Inside not weird, exciting lol
It's amazing. I liked Wake more anyways! I heard some other songs when they live streamed it on facebook and man this EP goes hard..
Logan McCauley Same, it had something special. That album got me into them. I enjoyed Culture Scars as well, but man, Wake was so dark and all over your face.
Dead Inside I even liked elephantiasis better than culture scars
I enjoyed culture scars but it felt like the label toned them down for some reason
Yeah, but I think it sounds far more like something Sianvar could have done to be honest.
Such a pleasant surprise! ❤❤
never really been a big fan of hail the sun, but this song got me hooked.
What a great surprise! Saw them on the 3rd and killed it as always.
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully we'll see this played live when you guys come to the UK! Sounds amazing, but that's no surprise. Super excited for the EP.
What's with the number "1109"? Anytime I noticed the time in my phone, I always see that time and search for that number and eventually lead me to this song
I know this comment is 2 years old but I reckon it's part of the address of the house that this song is about
Seen them live and wana see them live again

Wow, they're going to tour with CC this year
I wish MTV would play music like this
Elish Murphy I wish MTV would play music.
is MTV still a thing?

@@TeddyParker You're not wrong either, TV is dying anyways.
Drummers who sing always look like guinea pigs drinking from a water bottle to me.
you win the comment section
Holt fuck my house looks just like that one. Carpet and everything O.o
Donovan looks like a guinea pig.
Awwe how cute!! 🙃😂
