Just another sign of just how boringly sanitized this remake is. No spice to mix things up and no sweetness to give any real appeal, and all the color is superficial and lacks flavor. It's like those buckets of "rainbow ice cream" where it's got all these colors, but the ice cream is not only just vanilla, but it's not even a good vanilla flavor either.
Of all the changes i wouldn't have minded this change if it was done differently, like its that guys rip off of rim jobs, and maybe even have a mission of silencing a lawyer threatening to sue as a mission for that side hustle

Best way to describe this game is it's like a small indie dev team were asked to make a rival to GTA but they'd never played or seen GTA and were told what to make over a phone call
Hell, even calling Volition a "small indie dev team" feels like an insult to the indie gaming industry. At least, most indie dev are open to criticism, had decent experience in game making, and know what games they want to make for their fans.
But Volition on the other hand, hires someone from Twitter, Reddit, and Discord not for their qualification for the most part but for the "diversity".

Yeah i pirated it and omg like i dont like just echoing what others say but it is legitimately that bad honestly probably worse, it's really hard to put into words how badly it plays without giving you a controller, the best way i can explain is like single player lag? So i played on pc with an xbox controller and the sensitivity for aiming was inconsistent so I'll turn right and it'll be super slow and if i stop moving and push that same direction again it could be super fast its like an input bug and that combined with guns having incredibly wide bullet spread and recoil means you are quite literally struggling the whole time
Sorry for wall of text btw lmao just thought I'd mention my experience since you said you've not played it also before you ask if mouse and keyboard is any better the vertical and horizontal sensitivity are waaay too different and can't be changed so its equally as hard

I can't get over how awful the sound design is in this game. It's so blatantly obvious anytime anyone talks, or whenever there's any sound effect, that it hasn't been placed in the context of your environment; they just used raw samples without processing them.

I'm glad you liked 1 and 2 best. Everyone talks about 2 and 3 but I think 1 is very underrated.
1 was trying to be too much like GTA. 2 was when they started to really craft their own identity.

SR2 is only so good because SR1 layed a great foundation for it to build upon. SR3 would have been even better if it built up from SR2, but it threw a lot of mechanics away.

It 10000% feels like they tried to mix GTA5 and Fortnite into the same game. The driving and cars are like GTA and the combat and shooting looks like Fortnite

I love how they knocked over an entire PMC train convoy with its own dedicated money car, yet they only come back with two duffel bags worth of cash and gold. You'd think they would have at least come back in a truck or moving van full of money. What was the point of robbing this train if the haul was less than if they had just hit a bank transport van?
I made my own story with Saints Row. Ive played since the 1st and always made my character resemble me. So i just pretend its different chapters within the same characters life. In this one, i got shipped to the desert, so it still connects wih the unrelated SRs lol
Charlie could have just aborted the mission, fast travelled to the church then started the mission again. Didnt have to drive lmao

The worst part is that it started as a GTA clone with some humor, got a lot better in the second, stopped taking itself too seriously in three and four which made it freaking amazing and now it's like it's a soulless shell pandering to what they think people want and taking themselves seriously. They chose to forgo the game's identity to become something the old game would make fun of...
