Everyone associates Till with his usual bass baritone but don't realise the actual range that he has. He has a beautiful singing voice and range and Seeman is a beautiful song. Lovely to see Ollie taking centre stage. In some performances, he's extended the outro, much to Till's "annoyance" and to Ollie's amusement. Great to see the normally reserved bass player having his moments on stage. Richard's hat is supposed to be a representation of a lighthouse-sooner him than me! Great reaction as always from you both.

There has never been a more beautiful man or band for that matter. Every member is extremely handsome and talented and super nice guys in real life. Very magical, I feel like they were blessed after what they went through behind the wall. As in God has blessed them in reward for it all. It seems supernatural how good they are.

Till was really jacked there he’d trained as a swimmer for years you can really see it…he was trying for the Olympics but due to an injury couldn’t make it…check out more earlier Rammstein from 1997 Bizzare Fest “Der Meister” or “Laichzeit”…& for a few of my other “softer” Rammstein favs “Alter Mann”, Nebel” or “Ein Lied”

I thought Till crossed the line into West Germany to hang with fellow swimmers and he got eliminated from competition. IDK but I've read that multiple times.

The most surprising thing for me was how much in the front Oliver (the bass player) was. He is usually hidden away far in the back of the stage doing his thing.
Yes, this is one of Rammstein's excellent ballads, and in it, as you might have noticed, the bass guitar stands out very strongly, in this song Oliver played an excellent role, and in principle his role in Rammstein is suitable, not some blind and all kinds of freaks, usually a pleasant straightforward bass.
With Rammstein it's the same as with wine. The older, the better. However, this does not necessarily apply to the videos. The studio version is much better.
Nina Hagen our German godmother of punk, now 65 years old, made a cover of the song. You should take a look. She is a woman who even Till would be scared of, so crazy is she.
The video was great man, it gave a whole other atmosphere putting the subject of prostitution into it. So really, the videl was awesome too!

These were the beginnings of the band, the live shows were more improvised, the PryoShow was more like fireworks and one of the first songs of the band. You can see how Till developed vocalists.
You also should check out "Nebel" from Rammstein. Such a beautiful song, that let the one or other eye tear up a little! One of their beautiful ballads :)

Seemann is mostly a romantic song, it was written during a period when all the members (but one) were experiencing relationship problems.

When I saw them many of years ago, flake use to get into a blow up boat, an cruise around the crowd, on a sea of hands.. 'till to this day one of the best concerts ever.. I have seen them live 3 times, once in Germany and twice in Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺

As you guys mentioned how old you were in '96, i was 25 and did already listen to Rammstein:). Seemann is one of the Ballads of Rammstein, how i see it. If you want more of this sorts of songs from Rammstein, i suggest "Klavier" (piano), "Wilder Wein" (wild wine) & "Roter Sand" (red sand).

The part about taking the fire from the candle is a lean on the German superstition that when you light your cigarette on a candle, you're killing a seaman.
The origin of that saying is because when sailors had to stay at land in the winter time, they often made their living on selling matches. So when you'd light your cigarette on a candle you'd not buy those and deprive the sailor of their living. That turned into the saying "when you light your cigarette on a candle, a seaman dies".
The girl waiting by the lantern in the song is kinda killing him when she takes her fire from the candle.
Without knowing that our upcomming reaction was going to be Dark Chest of Wonders... I just watched 10+ reactions of that song from Wacken.
