I was surprised by its zippiness and power to climb steep grades. There's a lot to like and I haven't found much I didn't... the back seats might be a little cramped but I never had more than me and a passenger inside. If you're all about aesthetics and not about rugged dependability you might look elsewhere. Probably the most "Dickish" review in history. This guy does realize he is reviewing a car that is probably valued at $7-8 K at the time of the interview? It's purpose is to get you here to there. I get about 42 miles per gallon in mixed driving in the summer, and it has a comfortable drive, and is super easy to park. I go 70-75 mph consistently on the major highways and don't notice any excessive road noise or turbulence from trucks. I have had it for 2 years and have done nothing except change the oil. Good, solid, basic transportation...... I would suggest that the author needs to review a couple of Mercede's or Lexus' for $50K or so if he seeking perfection.

I have a 2015 I bought new, for less than $10K, in the same Salsa Red as this one. Mine is a 5 speed manual, not a CVT. I wanted just a basic econobox, and it fits the bill, I get 45 mpg too. I live on a windy, country road and it handles like a sportscar and is fun to drive. My only complaint so far is the lack of spare tire, it has a spare tire well, but only comes with an air compressor and a can of fix-o-flat. I remedied this by getting an extra wheel and tire from a wrecking yard, full size not a space saver, yes it fit. And getting a small jack and lug wrench (which I've already had to use). He didn't mention much about the engine, up to 2016 model its a 84hp 1.2L, in 2016 it grew to a 1.4L with 98HP. Both engines use a timing chain, not a belt, so you don't need to worry about changing that. Yeah, it would be nice to have more power, but then it would use more gas, and I like the gas mileage. Its a cheap little basic car, not a Lexus, I don't expect it to last past 100K, but still consider it a great value for what it is.

Some of us buy machines (cars are machines) for what they do and how well they do it and how reliably they do it. If my main reason for buying something is What It Looks Like, I'll buy a painting or a sculpture. Or maybe a Fiat.

I'm from the Netherlands and drive a 2012 (bi-fuel) spark. Mainly because I work at cycling distance from my home so I only use it once a week at most. However I would have preferred to buy a new Spark because I'm looking for a new car. However Chevrolet doesn't sell cars anymore in my country ☹️. It's such a fun car to drive and in its segment no European car comes close to the quality you get for that value. And it drives as comfortable as the bigger cars I had before...
They are selling me a 2014 spark EV 2LT with 66,748 miles for $8995. I test drove it today and the car its fun to drive..he charged it all the way up and it said 81max miles. As bad as the gas version of the Spark is, the EV model is pretty awesome. The Spark EV has over 320 ft lbs of torque. It is really QUICK from 0-45mph.

I feel like this reveal was based on comparison of the spark and "your" fiat 500 and not the actual spark however the spark is such a great little car and a few things you mentioned like it kind of darting to the left ,the reflection of the dash and the poor audio system is true .
