      If you can’t get it to work you should definitely contact the seller.

    Thanks for this. My plan is to build a DIY truck camper with a metal frame, so I'm going to have to buy a welder and learn to weld. One of my goals is to try to make this as inexpensive as I can while also making it as high-quality as I can. We'll have to see how that works out. :)

    Measure amps to see if the amps are accurate as advertised with this model with so many welders overblown amps and fake duty cycles.

      That's definitely a good point I've ran across several welding machines that aren't even close to what they said I'm sure they can vary some and the consistency of China of course but I'm quite used to running the different electrodes at different settings and knowing what they run like and it seems to be quite accurate on this particular one

      Good question I am going to have to do a video on the subject of this soon I have a Schneider electric 6.2 KW hybrid inverter with 8 225 amp lead acid batteries that our wired for
      48 volts with a PV solar array of 7,800 Watts
      I've done lots of welding off grid on it I have found running an 1/8" electrode at around 100 amps draws about 2.2 or so kilowatts one of the things that's going to make a big difference is the quality of the inverter you have whether it's pure sine wave or modulating sine wave as well as to make sure your inverter can handle near the 3 KW continuously for at least some period of time without having an issue as well as what it's peak power rating is for example the Schneider we have is 12,000 Watt peak.
      if you're just trying to weld something in a pinch I might consider using the 1/16 welding electrodes that operate usually from 20 to 55 amps

    I’ve got an old Lincoln tombstone. Been a good machine on the farm but still AC. I wanted a portable DC. Almost went with a Hobart 160i Stickmate. Then after some checking found the Hobart/Miller 160 are both Chinese. Decided to give this cheap machine a try after seeing this video, as it seems to be roughly the same quality for a fraction of the cost. I ordered one. We’ll see. If you get the opportunity to show any more work you’ve done with it please do. Enjoyed the video.

    Awesome video, I just received my machine and I plugged it in first thing. The amperage knob seems strange to me, no stops but it does dail in the amperage. I bought some 6011 and 7018 rods both in 3/32 and 1/8. I got a small tractor just a matter of time before something cracks or breaks so until that time I practice fusing everything I find laying around.

I'm all about learning to get good and effective results with equipment that is far inferior in specs and features. New sub here and loving the content on your channel. 👍

    My van's inverter can output 110v 1200 Watts (possibly double at peak) while the engine is running? My starter battery is a heavy duty 12v dual purpose marine deep cycle battery 115 AH and I'm connected to it with thick solid copper 1ga cables only 3 feet away. I've been able to run a 1200 watt electric kettle for 20 minutes with no problem. Think i will be able to weld two 1/8 rebars in a cross at about 20amps?

      When I'm working in the Dominican republic I do a lot of welding off of a Schneider electric hybrid inverter that's 6.2kw and 12kw peak hooked to a 10 kilowatt solar array and it works quite well.
      But I honestly I don't think 1200 w inverter can run a 1/8"Electrode I was just checked running an 1/8"E7018 at 100 Amps and it was drawing a little over 3000 Watts on the Schneider inverter I hope That's helpful.
      And one thing you could try is running a 1/16 Electrode which uses very little electric in comparison

    Ok so, If I use the 220v plug from the dryer is better? It's the only 220v accessible outlet close to where I fix stuff. I'm about to jump into welding head first. People need quoting me 500$ and up for minor stuff I think I might do myself

    • @CreativityUnleashed

    I purchased this unit based on this review. Have used mig , this my first time with stick.I have tried lincoln 7018 3/32 , weld cote 6011 3/32 with discouraging results 90-100 amps. 110v only. This just sticks all the time. So tough to get an arc going. any advice??

    • @CreativityUnleashed
      @CreativityUnleashed  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      johnny d 7018 and 6011 often take longer to get used to striking An arc with. 6013 electrodes are the easiest to start with but also keep in mind that if you stick a rod it starts getting hot pretty fast and after it gets hot it’s harder to get an arc going so if it sticks a couple times it’s sometimes better to Set it aside and let it cool down and get another rod.
      And remember the rod should always be in movement so that it doesn’t stick I sometimes tap it on the base metal to start or strike it like a match

    What brand of 7018 electrodes do you use? The only thing available locally where I live is Hobart, and their flux doesn't peel off like that. It sticks like glue, and you have to use a wire wheel to clean it up.

    • @CreativityUnleashed
      @CreativityUnleashed  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      elkvis I was using PREMIUM WASHINGTON ALLOY WELDING ELECTRODES
      Which I like quite well!!!.
      However there are several factors that dictate how well the slag comes off of your weld
      Amperage set to high often a lot of spatter is one of the giveaways of too high of amperage.
      Also inconsistent arc links can cause the slag to stick
      As well as the welding electrodes containing moisture or being old
      I hope this was helpful if you still have anymore problems you can let me know.
