As a Street and Gigging musician ,playing small venues. All i can say is... the less weight you carry on your backs, the better. Its not the best amp models or effects. But its close enough for me. And in the future if this technology gets better. Absolutely welcome. About the guitar itself, wish they put a push/pull for coil splitting. Anyway . I'd choose the S800 by a longshot. That sparkly red finish is amazing, and I like the way the humbucker is covered. I can change out the tuners, and the rolling tree myself, easily. The bridge can also be changed/altered without problem.
I like ever evolving guitar designs, and taking advantage of new technology. I'd like to see a video on the Headless model, particularly pointing out if there are really significant advantages or not.
Well 24 frets and more ergonomic neck joint come to mind. Also IIRC it has a better processor but don't quote me on that. Tragic that it doesn't have 3 pickups tho. HSH would've been better to me
You should absolutely try that fancy fan-fretted job, Ryan, just so we can see you either find it astonishingly easy or amazingly difficult. I’m glad you got to review this version, though. I would’ve absolutely not bought it, but on this one, you have me thinking ‘maybe?’ That, and I really need a fat strat.
Difference in trem feel is most likely on the number of springs. Assuming same string gauge/scale length, 3 springs installed straight, and loosened up enough to float/balance will have a stiffer feel than 2 springs cranked down further also balancing/floating the bridge. Only catch with 2 springs is you may need to angle them so they can stretch far enough to actually float the bridge level…but they will feel a LOT softer and with more flutter than 3 springs (if you use heavier strings you may need to look at 3 vs 4 springs instead of 2 vs 3)
That tone you made with all the onboard effects is absolutely horrendous but I love it! I absolutely love you demoing weird stuff like this because it's exactly what an idiot like me would do with it too, just absolutely make the worst sounding things and annoy everybody around me
I have multiple sclerosis, can hardly walk I bought the guitar. Why? Because all my stuff is too heavy for me. Now I'm so happy because I can finally play properly again without getting tangled up in the cables lol that's the best argument for me. The Spund goes great and with my "hotone" the system can even keep up.

Great review thanks✌️👍💜😊 I'm tempted, I was thinking of modifying one of my Japanese Strats with a Dave Murray set up and a new trem and tuners etc, but this "Pro" GTRS is appealing. I'm not sure for me though if the App and onboard tricksty stuff would be a 5 minute wonder or the best thing since sliced bread 🤔🤔🤔
FYI the pickup selector doesn't stop selecting pickups when you enable the pickup emulation stuff, that's hardwired. So strat emulation on position 1 (humbucker) is going to sound totally different to strat emulation on position 4 or 5.
I definitely prefer a smoother, warmer neck pickups, so I gravitate to humbuckers. Seymour Duncan 59s or JBs, maybe the Seth Lovers if I have a ton of extra cash.
Fun review! I've been looking at these as sort of "take along" guitar (vacations etc). One thing I have to laugh at, being the nerd I am...still using the old floppy disk (3.5") icon as the "save" button. Guess that's for the old farts like me! ;)
I think they should make a headless "travel" guitar version of this. When I travel with a guitar I don't take effects because of the extra bulk. This isn't perfect but it's probably the easiest way to carry some effects. Now they just need to add a looper!
It’s more than that. I have one and it’s like a great guitar with modeling. The fact that I can go anywhere with this guitar and practice by plugging in some headphones is almost unreal.
@@middaymeds and that's just it you nailed it I don't want a guitar strap with a guitar in back scratcher either although that would be kinda neat .I don't like the light on the guitar I also have every effect I need it's redundant is all.

Thank you for the great review my friend. I have a question: I found on the App Store another app called GTRS AC. It seems to be only for acoustic sounds. Could you please make a video only for the acoustic sounds of this guitar, as these are the sounds that interest me and many of us in here. Or at least comment below how it compares with the acoustic sounds of a variax or other similar guitars. I would be grateful in both cases. Thank you in advance. Greetings from Greece!

Thanks for the awesome review, it gives me a great view on P vs S, does the GTRS have an option like Variax that allows on-the-fly alternative tunning settings?
I would definitely use the Fender Mustang Micro live, if it were built into a guitar in a usable form. (Or even a compact pedal.) That was my wish before the GTRS came along.
That sounds pretty good for what it is maybe a distraction from playing skills .No it will be. Sadly, reverb gain maybe 2 pedals is all you need. The rest is grinders at my autobody,ha ha,good job every vid

What is the neck profile on your white P800? I just received a P801 (I think), that is the model with the roasted maple fingerboard. The neck profile is considerably different from the P800 I got (which I sent back because the neck was crooked). The S800 and P800 seem to be a C neck profile. The P801 (Mint Green and White, with roasted maple neck, on Amazon) I received has an asymmetrical U neck profile-much thicker (3mm at the crest, but asymmetrical) and square shouldered at the top side, rounded at the bottom side ("baseball bat").
I guess that phone app thing might be cool for "on-the-road" headphone practice.... but I'd never use it. Do they make these without that stuff? (I never thought that I would be a "Headless Multi-Scale" guitar owner... I now am playing an 8 string and really loving it. (again, I never thought I'd go that direction... EVER!!!!)
But if I click this button on the guitar, it just switch between the ready presets. I do not have any menu, where I can turn on / of the boost or reverb or other pedals.
I still can’t bring myself to buy a guitar that has (for lack of a better word) a integrated gimmick that will be obsolete and potentially no longer supported in the future. Idk…maybe I’m just no fun 😂
