New subscriber here, been hooked on watching your Eric meal times. Watched them from scratch and probably did for 6 hours yesterday haha, will continue today The Eric Meal Time marathon. Keep the good content coming. All best from Sweden.
Haha Jim you sound like me when I first started, I had to watch every video & it became my addiction. Nowadays I wait for new ones every day cos I'm such a FAN
LOL @ 11:05...”Oh it’s horrible, let’s go in for another one...a bigger one”. Hahaha. It’s great that you always give everything a second chance even when you hate it. Everything looked delicious and what a variety of food! Great vid Eric!
Someone (half) Italian here - If you're curious on the pronunciation of that Italian ham, it's pronounced like "pro-SHOO-toe" (the "shoo" bit is a little softer said). It's also one of my favourite cured meats.
Absolutely love how he tries things the way that they are served, before adding other things to them. This is why Eric will always be the greatest reviewer on youtube.

The name Tengu is very evocative for me. When I was a very little girl and my father was alive (he died when I was 6 years old), he used to take us to the Tengu restaurant on Pico Blvd near Bundy Drive in West LA. It is no longer there but I think it is still some kind of Japanese restaurant. Tengu was much smaller than the one you visit in this video. It was run by an older couple. It was one of the first places where I ate Japanese food. I learned to love Japanese food because of going there. My father was a short fat Jewish guy who loved Asian food. I remember he would tell us all sorts of things about Asia at that time especially because there was a big poster on the wall of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Yup, very fond bittersweet memories.
My favorite part of your videos is when you order something you admit to not liking ( baby squid) just to educate your fans . Best channel on youtube by far . Come to Canada
Your videos had become a part of my life, thanks a lot for your spirit and the efforts that you put in your work to become such a wonderful moment which all we can share it with you.
Ericsurf6 Thanks a lot to you for reply, ana its in Arabic it means( i am), my name is Anas. By the way Iam from Syria and I live in Sweden, and i hope that you try our delicious Syrian food one day. My best regards to you and to your family. Be safe.👋
Hey Eric, I really like the way your vids are heading lately.Nice editing more content. I don't know who convinced you to publish your vids this way but it's awesome. Keep up the good work. Love your channel.
My friend has always wanted to got to one of these places in Japan. I'm going to show them this, this way they can get an idea of things. Thank you for letting us get a glimpse of what this beautiful place is like!
Hi Eric, I like when you go to different places & show us their types of foods! For the most part, the food did look pretty good & I think the Saba was the best tasting & value.
Everything looked super appetizing, except the pickled squid. Sukiyaki is on my to do list, although I've cut back on beef and pork. Thank you for the share Eric!
Another great video Eric, I wish I could eat at all the places you have went. I don't make videos myself, but I wish I could make a compilation of you enjoying every dish you've eaten from your first video to the present and basically watch years worth of meals in like a 15 minute video.
Hi Eric, thanks for another wonderful upload. I get heaps of joy from your channel, but its the "Eric meal times" which are my personal favs. I so enjoy how well you're able to convey delight at tasting something really good & also the utter glee when something is awful ☺ Its a rare skill which you make look deceptively easy. Also you're always very descriptive about what you're tasting. I usually find myself salivating with a gurgling gut because I've become so blooming hungry! More please. Have a great week. 🤗
As always the food looks so delicious I don't understand the raw egg thing that much but would be willing to try it. No mention of who the camera person was or if there was one. Miss seeing a lovely lady or a co-host with you but keep up the great work.
Just had to go back and watch some more binge worthy Eric. Uniqlo in the background there! Love the clothes I've bought several things from there in Florida 🇺🇸✌️🇯🇵
Eric....you should try a video of finding the best wings place in Japan aka Wild Wings Cafe or Buffalo Wild Wings (something like that) and try different flavors for a Eric Meal time episode. Another would be a beer tasting episode as well! Already looking forward to Wednesday for another Eric Meal time.
Its late sat. Nite and im watching ur vid as im eating my sesame chicken, and i swear just by watching ur vid, i was there with u tasting all that food in my head i did ! Love ur vids on sat nite !
I remember we visited the department store during our trip to Tokyo, but ended up at the Tonkatsu restaurant. We'll give Tengu a visit next time for sure!
Congratulations to the snack pack winners. SMITH UP. lol. GET SOME!! Another cool video Ericsurf6. Got the S. Padre Island kite festival going on down here. S. PADRE ISLAND TEXAS ALL DAY. Y'all stay cool my friends. IF YOU READ THIS YOU ARE 😎.
I always pictured izakayas as a small pub but I guess there are big commercial ones too. Now I know why you do those marathons with a sit down meal that big!
Wasup, Wasup, Wasabi!!!!! That was a fun show, really like seeing the different types of menus and restaurant layouts compared to the States. This pub has tons of room. Amazing!!! Till next time. Go Team Get Some.
I believe it´s important for the video to show the whole ordering process. Somehow it´s really fascinating to see the reactions of the stuffs, when order more than the regular people does...
The mackerel looked so good, and you get a lot of fish for the price. Where I live, the Japanese restaurant charges over $20 for a miso black cod set menu where you get much less fish than that, it really isn't a good deal. Keep up the delicious content!
I think the doorbell thing to call your waitress is genius. Wish they'd do that here. I feel like I'm back in school raising my hand to get called on. Lol. Looks so good. I don't think there's much you wouldn't try. God bless.
Was eating that squid more brutal than eating natto? Also I don't think you've ever done an episode on Oden before, could you do that sometime maybe? Great vid as usual, you never fail to get my appetite going! Lol
Oh dear, I have to tip my hat at 1- eating something you do not enjoy and 2- going in for another that was bigger! I think raw and pickled squid might be an experience I'll stick to watching being eaten rather than eating it. Great to see a Japanese pub! As a Brit in Canada, this was perfect and a definite must add to places to eat at!
Eric my friend, it is not a chicken bone on a stick. It is a chicken cartilage. It is the cartilage at the bottom of the chickens rib cage. We humans have it too. At the very very bottom of your chest bone you will feel a small part separate. If you push on it you can feel it move in and out. Love your shows haven't missed one yet. Keep up the good work can't wait for your next video.
Jesus Christ you make me DROOL. Today must have been your favorite place cos everything you ate came with sound effects haha AWESOME VIDEO ERIC, your fan from New Zealand

@@ericsurf6 , thanks Eric!
Eric's attitude towards the squid... "Eww... Raw... Pickled, disgusting.... Let's go in for another one" lol! you crack me up. Great video Eric!
Hahahhahhaha he doesn't like to waste any food
LOL @ 11:05...”Oh it’s horrible, let’s go in for another one...a bigger one”. Hahaha. It’s great that you always give everything a second chance even when you hate it. Everything looked delicious and what a variety of food! Great vid Eric!
Loved those wings ! ❤️ That squid looks like something a surgeon would remove from the body during a surgery 😂
Someone (half) Italian here - If you're curious on the pronunciation of that Italian ham, it's pronounced like "pro-SHOO-toe" (the "shoo" bit is a little softer said). It's also one of my favourite cured meats.

Great video Eric thanks for keeping us company.Loved the view with all the trains passing by..
That ham is pronounced, pra shoe toe 😂
Was literally going to say the same thing lol.
eric lowkey the most uncluttered dude i have ever seen
actually it is pronounced: pro (not pra XD) shoo to (short o at the end) just saying...
Cersias Vlog double T pro shoot toe
@@stuka78 never heard anybody saying pro shoot toe (never, my italien side of my family would never spell it that way with double t or toE.)
Wow, thanks for this Eric! We missed this when we were in Shinjuku, but this will be on the list for next time, for sure!
Thank you Eric for taking us along on your gastronomic journeys! I enjoy your videos! Never stop! 😁
I. can. not. believe I won a SNACKPACK!!!!! Much love and thanks to you Eric! I sent you an email.

That Nankotsu sounds very interesting. I wonder when that type of texture will catch on here in the states.

Love that adverse reaction to the mini-squids. Would love a series where you try out food you don't like or deem weird, for our enjoyment.

Prosciutto, you can also call it Dio porco.

Great time lapse, Great restaurant. Thank you for having to eat cold food near the end just for this video !
The wing's looked good. I love the flats 👍😁💟
Not a big fan of dry wings but yes they did look good.
Mmm... wings...
I love how you keep trying items that you don't enjoy. I know you are trying to acquire a taste for them. Awesome giving every thing a fair taste!
I love how even tho you think something gross you go for another bite.
I can’t have you over for the Super Bowl the way you messed up those wings 😂😂😂

Thanks!
Gotcha Ian. Thanks.
Everything looked super good! I wouldn't mind just ordering a bunch of a la cart items. Then again, the main dish looked good as well.

i promise my meat will not loaf. you added music to your video; nice touch. watching you eat the squid was painful but hilarious.
