yes - drummer haruna is an absolute beast - at 4 ft. 9 in. she continues at this pace for 2 hour shows. she is called ' the little big engine' and is indestructible. and don't even get me started on the 2 shredders midori and miyako. best duo in decades.

Wonderful, gents! I had the good fortune to see LOVEBITES in Atlanta USA last Friday night, where they included this song in their set! The vocalist Asami had missed the autograph session due to not feeling 100% after the flight from Tokyo, so she rested up for the show. I must say she was astounding! She held the last note double the length seen in this performance! She may have indeed been unwell, as they did trim the set by 2-3 songs in the following show in Dallas, Texas. But speaking as an Atlanta witness, she and the rest of the ladies truly did "Stand and Deliver"! (A hint there for a possible future reaction from LOVEBITES!!)
AFAIK, they just cut "Holy War" in Dallas, because the sound check didn't work well (could also be Asami's jetlag). Not sure about "Set The World On Fire", but there are long fan videos, that I just didn't watch until now. So it's 1 or 2 songs missing, but even if it were two, then they had the 14 songs from the European and Korean part of the tour... It was 16 songs in Atlanta.
Great to see you doing a reaction of Lovebites! You're right because Iron Maiden and Judas Priest are a few of their influences but also bands like metallica and Slayer too name a few. Lovebites plays a mix of several styles, grounded in the traditional metal but with a modern sound. These ladies wil surprise you with their musicianship, it's highly technical but also melodic and elegant. Shadowmaker woulde be a nice one if you do another reaction of Lovebites but their catalog is about 60 songs so there's enough to choose, just go down the rabbithole, you'll enjoy it!
They are much much better bands then "iron maiden" (small letters) and "judas priest" (small letters) was and will ever be. Metallica are GREAT, I am not sure about Slayer.

Welcome to LOVEBITES 🤘🏼🐺🔥 Here some information about them: The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have already recorded 4 full length studio albums, in addition some EPs and Singles and a bunch of live albums, available on CD and DVD/Blu-ray. In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band. LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest. They are currently on their first US tour, play in LA tonight. In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. Nice initial reaction guys, a slower track that gives a good idea of the range they can cover would be Edge of the World-live. If you really want to see the drummer going full plet then the resent live version of Soldier Stands Solitary is incredible and it's at the end of their set too.
One suggestion is that if you do any more Lovebites reactions, using headphones does add to the listening experience as the guitars are usually panned left and right.

Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects. Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the basist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is 'new girl' Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string) The present members are, Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker. Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE. Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman. Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos. Fami, Bass. The 'new girl', recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens. Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. I saw Lovebites live in London recently, and watched Haruna in awe. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed. All members of the band can play piano/keyboards. They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023. Yes Thin Lizzy were one of the early pioneers of the dual harmonising guitar style back in the day although I'm not sure though that Thin Lizzy did it as well as Lovebites ! yes - drummer haruna is an absolute beast - at 4 ft. 9 in. she continues at this pace for 2 hour shows. she is called ' the little big engine' and is indestructible. and don't even get me started on the 2 shredders midori and miyako. best duo in decades.

Wonderful, gents! I had the good fortune to see LOVEBITES in Atlanta USA last Friday night, where they included this song in their set! The vocalist Asami had missed the autograph session due to not feeling 100% after the flight from Tokyo, so she rested up for the show. I must say she was astounding! She held the last note double the length seen in this performance! She may have indeed been unwell, as they did trim the set by 2-3 songs in the following show in Dallas, Texas. But speaking as an Atlanta witness, she and the rest of the ladies truly did "Stand and Deliver"! (A hint there for a possible future reaction from LOVEBITES!!)

AFAIK, they just cut "Holy War" in Dallas, because the sound check didn't work well (could also be Asami's jetlag). Not sure about "Set The World On Fire", but there are long fan videos, that I just didn't watch until now. So it's 1 or 2 songs missing, but even if it were two, then they had the 14 songs from the European and Korean part of the tour... It was 16 songs in Atlanta.

Lovebites plays a mix of several styles, grounded in the traditional metal but with a modern sound. These ladies wil surprise you with their musicianship, it's highly technical but also melodic and elegant. Shadowmaker woulde be a nice one if you do another reaction of Lovebites but their catalog is about 60 songs so there's enough to choose, just go down the rabbithole, you'll enjoy it!

Here some information about them:
The band was formed in 2016 by original bassist Miho and drummer Haruna. Their first EP and album both were released in 2017. So far LOVEBITES have already recorded 4 full length studio albums, in addition some EPs and Singles and a bunch of live albums, available on CD and DVD/Blu-ray.
In 2018 LOVEBITES won the Metal Hammer UK Golden Gods Award for best new band.
LOVEBITES have toured in Europe back in 2018/2019 and also recently in 2024. This also includes appearances at most European major metal festivals such as Wacken, Download, Bloodstock, Graspop, Resurrection Fest and Hellfest.
They are currently on their first US tour, play in LA tonight.
In 2021 the band went into a hiatus, because founder and bassist Miho quit the band for personal reasons. During the break also two babies were born. LOVEBITES came back in October 2022 with new bassist Fami and a few months later with new album „Judgement Day“.
A new EP and a live album have been released on august 28. There are already a plenty of videos on their TH-cam channel.

Lovebites are a Japanese heavy metal band, formed in 2016 by Miho, Bass, who was previously in the band DESTROSE that broke up in 2015. They take much of their influence from the 1970's and 80's British and European bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and Metallica. Miho is a big fan of Steve Harris, bass player with Iron Maiden and is influenced by his playing style. She left the band in 2021 for personal reasons and is currently pursuing new projects.
Any Lovebites video recorded in 2021 or earlier, the basist will be Miho (ESP Bass), any from 2022 or later, it is 'new girl' Fami (Bacchus Bass, usually a 5 string)
The present members are,
Asami, Vocals and Piano. She trained in Ballet Dancing and before Lovebites was a R&B singer. She writes many of the lyrics and sings in English, not easy for a native Japanese speaker.
Midori, (Midori Tatematsu) ESP Guitars. The blond 'Amazon Warrior'. Before Lovebites a member of all female band GEKIJO METALICCHE.
Miyako, ( Watanabe Miyako, also has used the name Mi Ya) Dean and Gibson Guitars, Piano and Keyboards. The 'serious' one with long black hair. Before Lovebites a member of the bands DROP OF JOKER, 21g and SONIC LOVER RECKLESS. She is a classically trained pianist who writes much of the music, often incorporating classical themes into her compositions. She recently posted a 3 part series on her YT channel 'MIYAKO OFFICIAL' about the process she uses to compose new music in her home studio. She has an EP of some classic heavy metal songs transcibed and played on piano as though they are classical works. It would be accurate to think of her as a classical pianist who also plays guitar in a heavy metal band. A remarkable young woman.
Both Guitarists play lead, seamlessly swapping lead and rhythm as required. They play wonderful harmonised dual solos.
Fami, Bass. The 'new girl', recruited as replacement for Miho in late 2022 when she was 20 years old and still at university. She has her own YT channel that has nearly 700,000 subs. Check out her 'Alien Alien' Slap Bass cover from when she was in her teens.
Haruna, Drums. The 'Little BIG Engine'. a tiny lady, 1.45 meters tall, who is the power house that drives the band. Before Lovebites she had been in Destrose, Miho's former band, and was the first to join her in the new band. I saw Lovebites live in London recently, and watched Haruna in awe. She plays powerfully, fast and precisely throughout concerts that can be up to near 2 hours long. She uses a double kick bass pedal at unbelievable speed.
All members of the band can play piano/keyboards.
They were the first all female Japanese band to play at the Wacken festival, Germany in 2018, also playing at the Bloodstock festival in the UK and winning the UK Metal Hammer Golden Gods award for best new band. In 2019 they toured the UK with Dragon Force and opened for Arch Enemy in China. Following Miho's departure in 2021 they went on hiatus, two members, Asami and Miyako getting married and having babies. Their 'comeback' concert, the first with Fami on Bass, was in March 2023.

The Japanese metal/rock scene is loaded with some extremely talented bands - especially the all-female bands. Lovebites is the best metal band I've heard in many decades.

Welcomed to the mind-blowing world of Lovebites. Their main influences are the great metal bands of the past but they have been developing their own and unique style. Asami used to sing R&B, soul and jazz before she joined the band; her voice is just clean, no opera training. Miyako (black hair guitarist) is also a concert level classical pianist. Next recommendation “Set the world on fire” (live)

Yes Thin Lizzy were one of the early pioneers of the dual harmonising guitar style back in the day although I'm not sure though that Thin Lizzy did it as well as Lovebites ! In some songs Miyakos playing also sounds like there is a distinct influence from one time Thin Lizzy guitarist Gary Moore - eg her solo in "Break The Wall".

HARUNA, drummer and founder of the group, an authentic drum-machine, called "little big engine"
MIDORI, guitarist (the blonde) and composer, called "crazy shredder"
MIYAKO, guitarist (the dark haired), pianist, main composer, the genius of the group, called "golden touch"
FAMI, bass player, the youngest and very talented, called "shining fingers"
Fami joined the band in 2022, after the former bassist MIHO (great bass player she also) left the band for personal reasons.
