They are exceptional live. They played the main stage at Hellfest last week and slayed it, in front of what some say was 40,000 people. 🤘🐺🤘
My own guess also was 40,000. I‘ve never heard this number elsewhere before 😊
60,000 tickets were sold for each day at Hellfest. And the venue was surprisingly crowded for that early daytime …

Fami is the new bassist in "The Hammer of Wrath". In fact, that was her first official LIVE performance with Lovebites.

Really enjoyed this reaction. And I was happy to sit through the nearly 40 minutes to hear three LOVEBITES songs with an insightful commentary across them all.
I was lucky enough to see them live last week at a 650 capacity club show in London. Standing just a few feet away from the stage, they were as brilliant that night as they come across in these videos.
And Asami the vocalist is as good a “frontman” as anybody I have ever seen. She has the whole audience in her control from the moment she walks on stage.
We appreciate the kind words. Yeah, the first video we did was 3 songs also, so we decided to keep the theme going with this second go. I'm not sure if we will do the same whenever we return to Lovebites, after we return from our hiated of course, but it's possible.

Miyako, the quiet guitarist, is actually a classically trained pianist starting at age 3 and she didn't even start playing guitar until she was 18-20 years old! I'm sure Miyako had so many classical performances where they are supposed to be non-emotional in their performances and relying on their skills to be prominent! I love that she makes us all feel like kids to her playing skills! She encourages me to practice more and get better!
That definitely could play a role in it.

Lovebites music is a mixture of their different influences from I guess the past 50+ years of rock and metal so to describe the music of being a particular genre is doing it a bit of an injustice.
You can definitely hear influences of Priest and Maiden but there is also a Gary Moore influence in there as well, who Miyako is a big fan, even through to some classical music for the Melodie’s and structure, and not forgetting a bit of Sabbath, Zeppelin and Purple, it is a mix that just works.
As a 64 year old that was a teen in the seventies, I have heard a lot of music and Lovebites is new and different, bit like when I heard Lamb of god for the first time, I was very impressed because it was new and interesting, I still believe that the 70s were the golden era for good music and occasionally some good music does pop up but very rarely. 😂😂😂
Yeah, you can tell they pull a lot of influences from different bands. We love bands that do that, it usually leads to more creativity and you can clearly see that with Lovebites.

Lovebites can do it all at an extreme level, but I too prefer their heavier and thrashier songs.

let me say my opinion about your 2 videos........cant every band find a new kind of metal........all bands remind someone else........I agree about that it's not exactly power metal because it has many genres......as they say they play Heavy Metal........all their songs have musicality and are different from each other.......like these 6 songs you heard .........and it's the most interesting group I've heard in the last few years.........they take the old metal which i like and make it kind new.......
You aren't wrong. It's human nature to compare what we don't know to things we do know. Before really delving into them as we did on this channel, I'd(Doppler) only heard one song from them, and it was power metal, so I just assumed that's what they were. Now we know they are much more than that.

I have heard that Miyako being the introverted bored cucumber might be a schtick. My guess is it’s natural, and might have a touch of “recital” to it (as opposed to wildly rockin out), and maybe then she was coached to embrace it, own it 👍
The last song was with the new bassist. In fact it was the show opener and the new bassist's first time on main stage as a member of the band.
They play power metal, speed metal, heavy metal and thrash metal.
“We Are LOVEBITES And We Play Heavy Metal” but they also play power metal and trash metal.
Just a suggestion if I may. 38 minutes is a big commitment to ask of your viewers. In my opinion, you'd be better off splitting this up into three 12-13 minutes videos.

We get that on occasions, but it's due to us concentrating on what's going on. It is why we said what we did at the beginning of the video.
Lovebites being put in a certain style is kind of a insult to them. Much like Band Maid they take a little from each and add their own twist to it.
But they are heavily influenced by Iron Maidden. At least when Miho was in the band. Fami kind of gives them a bit darker sound.
Lovebites definitely have a ton of variety in their music, and they do it very well. One of the most impressive things about the band is how good they are at doing it.

I'm rather amused by your comments about Miyako being emotionless while playing. She was more animated early on and in more recent performances but that was her thing for awhile. What I find amusing is you two are exactly the same way. No matter what happens in the video you just sit there with no immediate reaction. Not a dig, just an observation.
Yeah, it's because we are concentrating on what's we are seeing and hearing. Occasionally, you may get some reaction out of us during a song, but typically not. A lot of the reactors/reviewers out there that give a big reaction often come across as fake and we strive to be as real as possible, good or bad.
