Personally, though it was beautifully performed, I can't see the point of including Rhapsody in Blue in this, but my guess is that Italians always court the money and Americans are a logic target to please. My prefered moment was the Aida whole piece, inluding the dance. I had always heard it only staged and the whole (sometimes overhelmingly) visual performance prevented me from appreciating the great musical beauty of it. All in all a delight. Thanks again.
Rapsody in Blue was included for the same reasons why Ravel and Wagner were also on the playlist. In spite of the concert had taken place in Venice there are very good concert music out from Italy or Europei in general. It would had been marvelous if they also had considered Villa Lobos wonderful music in... what about Bachianas no. 5? ❤
I am very surprised why the commentators above admire this concert so much. The soloists are mediocre, and the orchestra was not admired. I was also surprised by the tasteless appearance of the female singer.
@@Ulysses88047 I prefer concerts and soloists of a higher level. I have something to compare it with. I don't want to look for moments if, in general, it is very mediocre technically and does not cause positive emotions.

The tenor's vocal cord is so tight or nervous that he seems to have problem in high notes and even out of tune a couple of times. No good.
