For any newbies, these are complete upper and lower assemblies that were assembled by PSA at the factory, not to be confused with upper, lower, and rifle "kits", which are separate items that PSA also sells that include the parts for you to assemble the uppers and lowers yourself. Just know that if you buy a lower or upper "kit", it will not come pre-assembled, and you will also need to buy a stripped lower and upper receiver and build it yourself or take everything to a gunsmith.
When my son signed up for the ROTC program at his university, I bought one of these exact same set ups so he could practice with something similar to military issue. Its not the same, but close. Since I was an army SAIROC for many years, I started having him practice, practice, practice. He did have a headstart due to me having AR's for many years. He started shooting mine when he was 6 years old, but I didn't have him field strip it. He ended up going the enlisted Army National Guard route so he did very well at boot camp. Anyway, these are worth the money and have never failed us.
Very nice rifle setup. However, I cringed when you allowed the hammer to fall on the bare frame! We were always taught not to dry fire the rifle unless it’s assembled. Peace!
Literally came here to say the same thing. I saw his finger on the trigger and immediately thought in my head "don't do it man, it's not worth it". 😅😅. But hey, he seems new to the AR platform and at least he's aware now.
I did that several times with my first AR, I didn't know anything about firearms and definitely not ARs. Never hurt anything I don't think. I still have it 7yrs later and shoot it all the time. But yeah everyone told me it's bad to do. I knew about rimfire guns and dry firing from being a kid and my dad yelling at me.
I love the PSA MOE uppers! I got the 16” in mid length in all of their 4 color offerings to be used as pool guns for my family for range days and in times of need.
I bought ARS for multiple companies Arrow Palmetto and Anderson I've been a good purchaser of mini products and I could say that AR-15 discounts seems to be one of the best places Cheaper Than Dirt 2 is a good one for all of those little odds and ends you need
The upper shipped directly to my house in Virginia. No background check needed or any other verification that I recall. The lower shipped directly to the FFL where they do the background check.
Hi Glenn, it’s a Magpul MOE stock, so it has the holes for sling adapters but you’d have to buy the sling w/ adapters then you could do a 2 or 3 point set-up. I hope that helps.
Yes @Marlon Davis - the pins come with it. Everything you need comes with the complete upper and complete lower, except for a magazine and ammunition. I hope this helps and thanks for watching!
I've owned several psa uppers. Recently I bought another one. I slapped the upper on an Anderson lower. I tried to pulling the charging handle but it wouldn't budge! I took it to a gun store who initially couldn't pull the charging handle either. They finally removed the handle. I told them to throw it in the trash! I bought a $79 charging handle. I then had a friend work on the upper. It's easier to run the handle now. Obviously psa does not test fire their uppers. I will not buy anymore uppers from psa. Tomorrow I am going to test fire it. If it's not up to snuff it's going back to psa!
Thanks for sharing your experience Robert. I believe PSA has a lifetime guarantee, so they should replace the charging handle and take care of any issues. Please let us know how it works after you get back to the range. I’m also not impressed with the charging handle on mine and might swap it out.
Super nice budget AR-15, some components aren’t up to my standard but if you dont shoot alot (2k rounds or less) you will he ok. Thing to note, next time try out mid length gas system instead of cabine length, you will thanks me later 😂
@@Simon-talks got several thousand rounds through my M&P 15 Sport 1st gen and it still kicking just fine. However the more expensive ($2k mark) rifle sure does feels better.
Yeah that’s just little refinements in the grip and stock etc. doesn’t make any difference in the shoot ability , accuracy or long term durability of a rifle. Most modern day AR’s will last and shoot well all the same. Like comparing a Honda to a Mercedes. The Mercedes’ might “look” a little more refined but it won’t last longer than the honda or get you from point A to point B any different. Just paying for a tad more “fluff”(and paying for a lot of brand name and tribe psychological influence).
Correct. It's got the plastic handguard furniture on it. I suspect someone out there in the AR world makes a handguard that you can add to this rifle (the aftermarket world for ARs is extensive)
@@deasttn Yea for sure. It's super easy to take off and put one on if you want to. And like you said, AR's are super customizable. There's so much out there for them.
@@deasttn I know that PSA has several uppers with rails already on them which is the only reason I even left the original comment. I was just just wondering why he didn't opt for one of them. But hey, if that's what he likes then that's what he likes.
@@PredatoryPrey yes, and the plastic furniture is cheaper. Many folks end up replacing the furniture anyway, so the cheaper stuff from the manufacturer is the way to go.

Thanks for clarifying that @B_R_ , you’re correct they are full upper and lower assemblies from the manufacturer.

These guns are FANTASTIC. They are amazing for the money and will do you as well as the more expensive ones.

Palmetto is a great company, much better than others as far as affordable gear and being for the people.
“for the people”😂😂
I remember in 2016 psa mags were as low as 3.99 a piece and magpula went for $5 a piece on a sale.
By the way you just treated that lower im glad you went this route instead of building from scratch.

Nice gun. the anodizing looks top notch
Literally what I just bought 2 of except I bought 2 mid length gas uppers for 129.99 a piece. Gotta love Fathers day
Just bought the same gun. PSA is awesome
I got this rifle in April 2022. shoots steel case and brass case No problems at all.
PSA good guns reasonably priced. I'm not sure about customer service because I've never had to deal with them after more than a dozen purchases.

A durable, quality rifle at an affordable reasonable price for US, working middle class Americans.
When I got my stuff from PSA I was as happy as a puppy with 2 peters
do you know if you can remove the flash hidder on the PSA AR-15 RIFLE KIT 5.56 16" because im in califonia cant have flash hiders lol please help
It looks like mine’s not removable but you may be able to buy an upper that doesn’t have it.
@@PM4MEDIA sounds good thank you brotha 🙏🏽
Cool vid..I'm wondering y mines didn't come with a charging handle???I'm wondering do I need anything else??
Not sure, I bought the upper and lower separately but mine came with a charging handle. Only thing missing was the magazine.
@@PM4MEDIA gotcha.....
Just got my PSA lower ran perfect with a Diamondback Upper might just get a 7inch Diamondback upper
Could I actually get the lower at 18 since it’s a rifle lower?
I believe it will depend on where you live. Each state law is different.
The Poverty Palm Tree rifle.
Mine is OD Green...🤠
Thanks for the info!!!!
For the upper did you have to have any background check or verification to ship to you’re address?

Does that lower have a sling mount on the stock?

what state are you in? thank you

I have had very good luck with PSA complete Lowers.
Did that upper ship in an outer box? Or was the PSA logo on the outside.? Thanks

I received the upper 3 days after ordering. The lower took a little longer since it was shipped directly to my FFL.
Ordered the same thing, three days, as well.
Still waiting 14 days for my lower to the FFL. Nice looking rifle.
Good to go economical reliable how can you complain

Not really an upper or lower 'kit'. They are preassembled lower and upper. It's like having a 2 piece jigsaw puzzle 😂

That may have actuslly been the fault of the Anderson Manufacturing lower. Ive seen something about being unable to rack it

Better lighting
