Jeanette brought some interesting facts/ideas which I was not aware of, e.g. that modern humans have been around only for 200,000y, or the bit that humans and machines might eventually merge to create new “species”. I mean I saw it in sci-fi, but this hit differently. One thing I realized while watching this video was that there were no ads on it, which probably comes from the fact that Jeanette swears with passion. I love it haha. I disagree with “the future is okay because I believe the next generation is going to take care of it”. I am 26, so probably a bit older than what was meant by that statement, but still, I don’t see how anything can be changed without the older generation taking a stance themselves. Thanks a lot for the talk, it was a lovely hour✨
Unbelievably brilliant discussion by a person I am ashamed to admit I know very little about.. I love the vision for AI which is not new and above all the social commentary spanning key topics from consumer capitalism, social media to gender equality. Truly enthralling and riveting discussion!!
i think some of these ideas about human & AI interface was explored in 'Years and Years', 2019, Russell Davies, 6 part BBC TV series, with Emma Thompson among others
Though her book '12 Bytes' is interesting and well researched, I feel that Ms Winterson is very misandrist in her literature. Yes, indeed women were discarded i the past and denied opportunities but so were most of the working-class including many men who weren't allowed to vote untio 1881, only 40 years before women.

Sorry to disagree but nuclear annihilation is the greatest threat, not climate change
Nope. One is a remote possiblity, the other is guaranteed and already well underway.
