      @@secularsekai8910 Exactly.
Jacinda came into office with the idea of making New Zealand politics a place where ideas were discussed and thrashed out ... not just a slanging match, as was the usual.
She has held true to her promise; - When given an open goal ... a sex scandal involving a member of the opposition, she handed over the matter to the opposition leader - and no more was heard about it. She refuses to do dirty politics.
And, it seems, the new opposition leader is rising to that challenge.
No dirty politics - but policy statements (National has pledged a big tax cut - for no good reason ... but at least it's a policy)
Compare that to the doomed USA.
Biden has no policies at all, and Trump has none either [except for giving hysterectomies to immigrant females in the concentration camps at the border]
There are NO policies in the USA anymore.

I am in the USA, but I am somewhat following the 2020 election in New Zealand. It amazes me that The national party, a party that could indeed form the next government, would change its leader in the middle of an election campaign. Given Prime Minister Ardern’s domestic and international reputation, I would say she is headed for a big Labour party victory. I do hope the national party keeps Ms. Collins on though, she seems like a very sharp opposition leader.

@@bz6591 ... beating Covid is NOT acting. [well it's "acting" of a sort - acting really fast to beat a terrifying disease!]
Look, if your hero Trump dressed up in Mickey Mouse ears, turned around, pulled down his pants and farted the national anthem backwards, while burping the alphabet, while looking through his legs ...
... before enacting emergency legislation that snuffed out Covid-19 in just a couple of months, and protected everybody's jobs ... saving hundreds of thousands of future lives lost ...
      Then - why not?
If she IS acting (I don't think she is at all - maybe speaks more clearly in a public setting to communicate her message) - it doesn't really matter.
She's got a pretty horrendous job done, and did it fantastically well - that's all that counts.
She can appear on TV rapping to Shakespeare while spinning plates and kicking a beachball off a seal's face (I reckon she could probably actually do that!) ...
      ... it doesn't matter ...
      SHE BEAT COVID-19!
Anyway - she's not an actress.

Mai Nem Thank you for the long reply. First of all Trump is not my hero but he is the only us president genuinely wants Americans to have good life through working instead of through wars. He really tried hard to keep US as a sovereignty country instead of being divided like now. After China implemented full lockdowns in outbreak areas, the globalist terrorist shifted pandemic attack to US. Because he has enormous power and networks in us, the attack is more successful than in China. Then he used all top media’s in the world to criticise Trump’s COVID-19 responses. This is my comprehension of today’s American mess. Now let’s come back to your heroine. She gave the gun to the shooter in Christchurch terror attack so that her kindness goes around the world class media. Check the police records. The volcano eruption tragedy caused by her government’s bad administration in the sector. Finally she didn’t stop the virus. It’s the adoption of border quarantine did it. And border quarantine was pushed by National party. The petition got more than 40 thousand signatures within 24 hours. She can not turn a deaf ear to the angry shouts from the public. The saviour of NZ is the public who has the vision to stop her nonsense. When I had flu symptoms from visiting a church friend, my family doctor told me only people arriving from overseas are allowed to be tested. During that time she said the public is not willing to get tested. She was lying. Because we can not get tested, then the country doesn’t have cases. Some of those let in the country before border quarantine couldn’t get tested because they were not close contacts even have symptoms. Now two of them got tested positive when arrived overseas. What happen to those still staying at home without going to other countries and getting tested? They are the mobile information sources. Mind you, All those Asymmetric people could have sudden death while infecting others. Now let’s talk about her efficiency. NZ was the 66th country had the first case. We keep letting infected people in until border quarantine put in place. Do you think she’s slow or deliberate? Her reactions are not slow at all when in shows and interviews. Is her COVID response the world class that all people are asking her to be the leader of the world? The answer is no. There 23 countries or regions have ZERO deaths. There are 64 Countries and regions have less than 22 deaths. So we are the 65th in the world in Covid-19 response. Was she try population cleansing practice before being stopped by National party? NZ’s 22 deaths are all elderly people, more than half of them were from rest homes. Why can’t she lock down rest homes if she can lock down the whole country? Is she deliberately let virus in? Look at this example: When Judith Collins vowed to hold her to account. She suddenly declared that she’s not ruling out lock down the whole country at level 4 again without any information supporting that there was possibility of existing cases . Is she just practicing pronunciations there or showing a naked virus threat. You know what people call this kind of act? It’s called terrorist threat. God bless NZ.

It's the primary function of all political parties in NZ to support the special interests of the elite groups that dominate both the state and private sectors ie. Labour supports the state bueracrat elite and National supports the big buisiness corporate elite. Both groups essentially come from the same social class but at times become intertwined and alligned, and the distinction between state and private power is becoming increasingly blurred.

    • @earth7636
      @earth7636 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

In other words, you could argue that both the 'Left' and 'Right' of NZ politics (like most other democracies, sadly) are just factions of the same whole; a frankenstien blend of private/corporate and state/bueracrat power that prop eachother up endlessly. That's why there has been no real standard of living increase for the average NZer because the system is rigged to serve the interests of the elites.

It's the same in the UK parliament (which New Zealand's is modelled on)
Basically - the format is that the opposition leader asks some "tough" questions: "can the Prime Minister explain why she's allowing 2 million immigrants into the country, when she said - and I quote - back in 2019, 'New Zealand is full up - there's no space for any more..." ??
Then, each side of the house has a lesser MP asking a question:
"Is the Prime Minister aware that her policies have resulted in 90% unemployment in my Christchurch constituency?"
Then, from her own side, a softball, maybe Winston Peters ..
"Does the Prime Minister agree with me that she is excellent and wonderful and ... quite frankly ... amazing? Does she agree with me that she is a historic figure that all future New Zealanders will love and adore?"
[yuck! - but it really is THAT bad]
