3 Times. I always find it easier to do them off the car. Done several myself over the years and although no perfect they come up ok. Keep up the good work!
The Charlestons will be done off the car, this was just a practice run, to see if it would work. These wheels in the video were just a cheap set that were a bit scabby 👍
I counted 3 times Dave 1. At 2:58 when you show a picture of the messy alloys 2. At 3:02 when you show a video of the messy alloys 3. At 4:37 when you show the alloys again after the grinding with the special pad Pretty sure I haven’t missed any, will be using this video for when I refurb my Mk6 alloys at the end of the month😅 Liked subscribed and notifications on!
3 times! Also, great video. I have diamonds that i dont like so much so can use this to atleast getting them looking alright without paying massive money!
@djrhea2732 when I move over to doing my Charleston wheels after using the paint removal disc I will then follow up with 320 grit and 500 grit paper on a DA polisher to smooth it down a little more. Lacquer probably would cover after just using the disc , but for a cleaner finish 320 grit would be better
Three times you went into portrait! Have you tried stepping down your sandpaper, and going finer as you go, and then using a compound and your polisher, see if you can get a smooth finish?
3 times Dave.Doing a great job.Great work you do on you tube and Facebook,Only had my Mk6 since June 2024,your vids have gave me the confidence to tackle jobs.Keep it up legend! From Glasgow!
Hey dave, i also counted 3 times, and your voice was really quiet in the beginning , also another mistake is the name of the rims at 2m44s they are actually 16 inch Diamond cut toronto rims not Atlanta rims, i only realised as I have Atlanta diamond cut rims on my car at the moment.
I counted 3 mate. You really should be banned from usings a phone, reminds me in my missus! Managed to change my key over to a newer style fob, cheers for the help 😀
Great video and deffo useful when it comes to needing my monzas done again. I counted that it changed 3 times but don’t worry it was still a good video matey
Ive counted 6 as counting vids/pics😅 I done my charlestons dave on a polisher 180/320/400 grit and a grey scotch pad on machine to make smokey look then few lacquer on them came up well and i wouldn't be as handy asyou around cars lol If want pics let me know 👍
@Buthos if it goes horribly wrong on the Charlestons I will get them done professionally....no harm in trying to do it myself....the lacquer on the Charlestons is a lot thicker 🙈

Also! You can see where you have worked on, will that dissapear when you apply lacquer?

I am going to go down to 500 grit, not after a mirror finish.

@WellThatsNotAwkward they are just a practice run before I attempt the Charlestons....if it goes wrong I have lost nothing 🥴
@whatsdavedone104 it's all learning! I want to learn to powdercoat, but then the set up cost scares me😂

Counted 3 times. Good luck on the wheels. I don't think I would have the bottle to tackle alloy wheels 😂😂. Look forward to seeing the end results 👍
If it goes wrong I will just get them done professionally....these are a practice for my more expensive wheels 🙈
@whatsdavedone104 well good luck with it. I need to sort mine soon and have thought about doing it myself but can't bring myself to doing it 😅😅.
