Wow this game takes me way back to my adolescence! I remember playing Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines on my pc for hours and hours and this game just seems like a boardgame implementation of that game. Thank you for the review Sam! This is now my #1 game to get!
Would be interesting to know more about how to stay stealthy. From this it simply looks like staying on tiles with no enemies and hoping the dice rolls your way.
It does have the Commandos vibe, but it is missing the main mechanism (obviously for the board game) - the real time orchestration of simultaneous moves by a few commandos at once. Also, i have only seen a die roll to resolve the stealthy/not stealthy aspect. Which is VERY simplified. Unless you can discard some sort of token to improve the rolls, this is just luck based and doesn't add to the stealthy feel of the game.
If someone doesn't like the rule about the group deciding which path an enemy takes when there is an equality to the choice you could always randomize it with dice or a coin.
I enjoyed the review. I am not sure if it is because I missed it, but I didn't realize it was cooperative until halfway through the review (which only makes me want to play more). If I get a chance to play, I will definitely do so.
Sam, you gotta play "Commandos" on PC. It's an old game so you might need an old PC. I found it on steam but I couldn't run it on my PC. That has to be the game they were inspired by.
Can anyone who's played it address the replay factor for the included operations? Is something lost if you were to replay an operation a second time, or are there enough things that vary that allow it to still be enjoyable? Also as an aside, it seems like there could be (and maybe there already are) fan-spun operations found online.
what aspect of the game makes it better than warfighter? I'm asking as I'm also on the fence which one to get (and leaning towards v-commandos). This seems a compact game that could be played with others who are not that keen on the theme, while Warfighter seems like a very thematic, but with that quite unappealing to those friends/family who don't like the ww2 setting. But these are only my assumptions as I don't have anyo of these games yet. So, if you can I'd appreciate some points from you what makes v-commandos better. Thanks!

Now this game is getting miniatures. It’s currently on Kickstarter with them as an upgrade.

Excellent use of stealth by the small commando in the background at 15:03 th-cam.com/video/N1y7L2cqwV8/w-d-xo.html and later - never detected by Sam!
What other games play like this? With cool stealth mechanics?
Seems to capture the feel of the Commandos video games. Those were all about stealth and were really hard. Might have to check this one out.
the art also reminds me of that game.

Thanks
so... I'm debating this or Warfighter WWII DVG - I'm leaning towards Warfighter card game. This looks sparse as far as units go. Thoughts anyone?

there are so many puzzle products (coop/solo "games") lately...
Seems like there is little to no direct interaction between players.
this game needs minis. Maybe Reichbusters would fill this niche in 2020.
Same game than the video game but boardgame version. Same art etc...
