Being a retired carpenter trying to learn how to wrench on old trucks I don’t feel so bad when I don’t know what I’m doing after watching you try to frame that closet😊
Dude, what you did is far better than most of the crap too many so-called professionals would do. It's non-structural, non-load-bearing, and plenty good enough for precisely what it is. Good on ya!!
Puddin, it's funny. I'm a welder/fabricator. 57 year old construction supervisor. I wish I was a better mechanic but I get by. What I'm saying is I could do the same thing you are doing all day long and still watch you. You make me laugh 😃 you make it funny 😁. God bless my friend ❤
The way I look at the shop updates is that it's just more of an extension of the personal touches you do with all your rigs. It's interesting to see how you set up your workspace.
Really cool on the "home gym" you've got! On a similar note... I've been in a wheelchair since 2010 when I lost my right leg and my left knee is shot. Also every single prosthetic that was made for me I would walk right out of. So basically, being in this chair I swelled up to 315lbs & I'm only 5 '6". Well, my wife of 25 years passed in Feb of 2021 and since then I've lost down to 228lbs without doing anything other than changing what & how much I eat. I haven't been dwelling on it or stressing about it and I believe that plays a part in it as well as anything else contributing to me losing. Thanks for all you do for us & God bless! ~ Scott 💙🙏🏼👊🏼
Wow,that's a lot to take in.but good for you for thinking about your health.and I'm sorry too here about your wife, but it does sound like you're doing better, and good for you. Keep moving forward, there's a lot of beautiful things in life.
Bro man you have been through some shit. Sounds like you've taken all that's been thrown at you and still said what that all you got? Be proud my guy you are one of the strongest people I've ever read about. Sorry about your wife. Good luck in the future but with the drive you have I'm pretty sure you got this. 😎🙏👍💯🇨🇦♥️🇺🇸
@@wp.sworld.s yeah I did go a bit into detail but I felt the need to set the story. My apologies for the long post & I truly thank you for your kind words! 💙🙏🏼
@@grooveguy Thanks so very much! I could literally write a novel on the shit I've been through just over the past 20 years. Aside from losing my wife, I've lost my son, both parents and both my mother and father in-law. Not to mention that I've been on dialysis for almost 21 years now. The only other option I have is to give up and I don't get down like that. I was a lineman with my local power company and it just ain't in my blood to just roll over and take whatever I'm dealt as a reason to quit! 💙👊🏼💪🏼
I've been paralyzed below the chest since 2006, along with my right arm only having having about half of my ability back. I'm also 5'6"and weighed around 175 lbs at the time I was paralyzed. After spending 2 months in the hospital and rehab, I moved into my grandparents' house. My patents lived next door so my mother brought me a big plate of food 3 times a day. I got up around 200 lbs b4 I took some serious steps to stop the weight gain. I for back down to 150lbs. But wouldn't recommend anyone try losing it the way I done. I had bad infection twice, and almost died. 🙂 I was always a very active so this was a big change. Like you I refused to let it hold me back. Unfortunately I've messed up my my spine even worse than before. Now I've got a curvature in the spine. I'm trying to take a little better care of myself. 🙂
It dosent matter if I'm watching you wrench or rebuild a carburetor or even clean a toilet you have a way of making it entertaining that's the true talent you possess
I can't see I'd have done anything different, except maybe connect it to the Mortske suite and have more room for bubble wrap! Or add a ladder to the upstairs storage. Anyway, just saying hi to AL. Great vid! Thanks!
You shoulda had a jack stud on the door opening to support the header and the reason your measurements for osb were off is you likey marked at the actual 16" then drew your line and X next to it. You have to measure 15 1/4 to remove half the 2x width to actually land on center. Came out good and it's not a bearing wall so it'll do good.
Friday afternoon here in Australia , Just finished work and that bit about not hitting power in the wall with the short clip from home alone made me laugh my head off that was awesome , thanks Puddin, love your work mate 👍🇦🇺.
I think it turned out good excellent I tell people on my TH-cam channel you have to crawl before you walk there's no one perfect in this world you did an awesome job
The shop addition videos were great. We got to see your dream come to life and dream a little on our own shops. For my wife and I watching your dreams come true was extremely motivating . Made me get off my ass and work in my project
there is no such thing as an inswing or outswing... it's left or right....trick is to stand in the door opening with your back to the side you want the hinge to be on... if you picture the door opening (swinging) with your left arm then you need a left hand door.... if you picture it opening (swinging) with your right arm then it's a right hand door... But good job Mr Pudan!!! hope this helps some.
Now just build a shelf from the stair landing to the closet to be able to store even more boxes and supplies. Or create a walkway from the stairs to the top of the closet. I would do the shelf.
Puddin, you're a funny man.. your comment about why would you watch how to properly hang a door when you watch how not to. Had me howling... don't matter what you put out for a video. I'll watch everyone... look forward to every Monday and Thursday. Been watching you for a long time. I haven't missed one yet.
if you align the door with the window then you could have a shallow 12" shelving on the left side....otherwise it's wasted space.... dont hate me I'm not hating... your cool to tackle this on your own.... good job!!!
Regarding your current storage needs I'd suggest the premise of "first-order- retrievability": Things needed most often need easy access. Things needed least often need least access. Don't forget the Z-axis (overhead/loft storage)
The Bob Villa joke had me rolling 😂 being a 90's kid my folks loved him. I noticed he often talked through what others were doing. Thanks for the updates. God bless you and your family.
lol I went to school to be a mechanic, watching Bob at grandmas house I noticed a mistake, grandma didn't believe me. At the end of show they had fixed it. She called my bluff bought me a saw hammer etc. I built some stuff for her then some of her friends. I haven't worked in a shop since then, been busy building stuff.that was 98
You could also partially enclose under the staircase for extra storage. I would extend the top of the stairs to the top of your new closet. Just make a railing all around it for safety. It would be like a balcony for the guest room. Just some ideas for your awesome channel!
Great closet build - you build i watch - u sit on you behind i will watch - u ride around in will watch everything u do is good by me always watching ! Hopkinsville Kentucky / Jacksonville Alabama
❤❤ My best friend move to Oklahoma, lives in Rogers County and I’m sure he would do you. Good job usedto build Wineries in California. Anyway, you did good job😊
For those of us that need items evenly spaced, we thank you the great puddini, it would have bothered us every time we saw the front of that. A gentleman and scholar. Man theo is turned into freakin cuddle monster ha ha ha ha, love it
The first problem im seeing is you need to hit a stud preferably in the middle so wherever that stud is is where your going right and the light box behind the wall is usually anchored against the stud . I am no construction worker but i have been around a few remodeling jobs so thats my input take it or leave it
I really don’t care what the video is about, I really like the way the content is presented, it’ll work or it won’t! Makes people feel good if they make it work out or not bad if it doesn’t, if you never try you’ll never know if you can do it!
Google jack stud and the header will be in the picture I have a banks framing nailer it has paid for itself a bunch of times . This closet looks good and Im a big PFS fan.
Being a retired carpenter trying to learn how to wrench on old trucks I don’t feel so bad when I don’t know what I’m doing after watching you try to frame that closet😊
It is weird seeing how someone doesn't get the basics you know until we ourselves step out of our box and realize how someone would miss the obvious.😊
Dude!!! Good job!! It's how you learn by doing!!! Pull that switch cover, you can put power in that closet!!!✌️
If it had a V8 in it he would have been perfect.lol
Facts!!
You should also watch VGG
you don't create/film boring content, period. i find everything relatable, thank you.
Anyone who attempts even the simplest woodwork task and makes something remotely resembling what u set out to build , gets my vote puddin, great job
Jacob. heck I could watch you build sand castles 🏰 .you are so entertaining it really doesn't matter what you do I'll be watching ❤
Sounds like true love, but you're right he's entertaining
😂 "sandcastles" that's funny. But I agree with you.
SAME
Stop throwing sand
Really entertaining

It is sweet helping the mentally challenged with space upstairs to sleep when it comes over . Bless you Puddin .

Closet? THAT should be the Mortske Suite! The room upstairs is larger, for more storage. Great job, Puddin'!

What you need is a burn barrel do it at night nobody can see your smoke. That sure is a nice International

DAM we could watch you narrating paint drying, keep up the good work love and prayers to you and your family
looks good for what it is.

Put a pocket door in. Now worries about door swing issues then!
I thinking a sliding door
@@winnerscreed6767 OK...That works too. Keep up the great videos!
Thanks for the video.
Awesome video Puddin 👍👍👍
A bad carpenter complains about the tools. A great carpenter complains about the quality of the wood!

Great vid! Thanks!
Get one of those plastic storage bins to put cardboard in, I use one as a dumpster at the house so I only do garbage once a month
Done a pretty decent job if you ask me, well done 👍🇦🇺
Excellent Video Pudding :) very nice information and glad for getting lots!
An inswing right door is an outswing left door and vice versa
My favorite episodes are when Puddin’ does odd jobs…
They have small dumpster that you can buy that you can pull behind your truck because they have a trailer under them

I enjoy the random shop improvement video. Not just working on cars. B/c that's life
Lowered cars and lifted toilets... that's why I love this channel😊
Need to put a light in the closet. You can get power from your switch box, more than likely. But Good Job building !!
I love all your second channel action!!! Keep it up!!!
Having to do home or shop improvements is just part of life. I'm glad you show us .
I love the shop videos. Keep up the great work mate!
A closet with a view! How fancy!
mdouglaswray Is that how he's going to turn the lights on by running up the window blinds.?
Before electricity closets had windows so you could see. I have lived in several houses that had them
Milwaukee battery powered air compressor game changer
The humor that you include of what ever you do is great.. you can be Polishing a turd or installing a flux comparator.. you can find humor in it😅
I think it turned out good excellent I tell people on my TH-cam channel you have to crawl before you walk there's no one perfect in this world you did an awesome job

Love to hear the gym is helping with the blood pressure 👍
as always , i enjoy your video's
Man I love watching my favorite youtubers build stuff like shops or closets, even if they aren't perfect, they get it done!
Thanks for making my day, when I saw the tape and the “pen” come out I knew this was gunna crack me up. Bless your heart lol

Nothing wrong with that Puddin. It will serve its purpose just fine!
Enjoy all your videos, even your carpentry ones.
As a retired rough framer with 25 years of experience all I have to say is Good job pudding!
Now just build a shelf from the stair landing to the closet to be able to store even more boxes and supplies. Or create a walkway from the stairs to the top of the closet. I would do the shelf.
If you're having issues with blood pressure drink hibiscus tea mine was getting high and started drinking it and now its textbook perfect.
Man you’re the only guy who could make an ugly closet look fun. Appreciate your content and merchandise!!
No need for lag bolts Puddin. Just Hilti it. Concrete nail, Hilti gun and BAM Bob's your Uncle!!!👍💯🇨🇦♥️🇺🇸
Pocket door in that closet might have been a good option.
You need to get a handheld shower head/hose for all your nooks and crannies.
I enjoy watching your work
Make that closet tall enough to tie into the top stair landing. Then you can have a large upper closet as well
I've done a lot of carpentry work and as long as rough framing is sturdy who cares how it was built 😊
Cool 👍
You should extend the landing to the Mortske suite so you would walk right out to the top of the closet. With a hand railing and everything
Once again the Mortskie honey moon suite is looking good
I’d like to see a Theo indoor out door dog house, and I like to watch it all because I like your style
The people that watch are what's called the faithful viewers

Great video brother. Always entertaining
It's all good content, homie. A man's gotta do what a man's gotta do.
make sure you insulate the wall 2 reasons sound and you don't have to heat and cool the space inside the wall
Might be a good idea to stand a 2by up in that back corner under the ceiling.
Puddin is Bob the Builder 🤣 come on!!!!👍
👍👍 yep, that’s a closet!
Puddin just a tip....need to subtract 3/4" from 16"oc to have the correct layout
As long as it hides the stuff you want hidden, id say it's a fine closet. Thanks for sharing your life with us Puddin. Theo is one happy doggo.
I would put a slider door on that closet. That way no worries which way it goes
The Puddin and Fam compound is coming along nicely.
Such a cool garage, and with that apartment added on icing on the cake
if you align the door with the window then you could have a shallow 12" shelving on the left side....otherwise it's wasted space.... dont hate me I'm not hating... your cool to tackle this on your own.... good job!!!
If they swing out the hinge pins are on the outside and can be popped for access to the building
Make a Puddin"s carpentry T-shirt. sheds, closets and more!
Regarding your current storage needs I'd suggest the premise of "first-order- retrievability":
Things needed most often need easy access. Things needed least often need least access.

The way I see it you got error done and that's what counts in the end . Nice job .
If you make the door and the Morski suite open out, you can put the bed the right way

Build a loft off of the stairs for storage or get some industrial shelves that are about 12ft tall or taller.
