I think I can speak for majority of LP fans, Chester helped us all not feel alone. he has the most angelic clean voice I’ve heard yet he screams like a demon. Breaking the Habit helped me, and I’m sure a lot of fans stay a little longer. Chester will always be in our hearts❤️
He had a great voice, but also a great personality, with the biggest heart and so humble and kind and funny. And yes he helped a lot of people and he loved his fans
Please react to Shreya Ghoshal's "Sun Raha Hai Rozana" mixtape. It is a mix of two songs "Sun Raha Hai" + "Rozana" two different songs she sung it so well. Just check it out.
The simplicity and repetition of instrumentation and the breaking vocals (for someone like me) is a metaphor for how repetitive "help" feels- we feel the same no matter how many times we're told to focus on something else. Our rythm can change (as the lyrics change) but everything still feels the same. Anger and hopelessness. The only change is in the lyricism, representing the deterioration of thought. And then the vocals, representing the anger that builds. Then we return to the same feeling that was there from the beginning, the cycle and feeling that nothing changes. Why change? Give up because nothing changes. Too many relate to this and are then judged for falling bqck into the cycle and this song encapsulates this perfectly
I still feel the loss. Linkin Park was one of my favorite bands and Chester was the main reason. So much emotion in his voice, and the ability to "scream" while holding a tune is just amazing. I still miss the guy.
Chester screamed what other people was thinking. You can't go on to the street and start screaming it,but you can put on Linkin park and he screams for you❤️
ive said this on another reaction to this video but the look on his face before he sings ( put me out of my misery is gut wrenching ) i honestly think he was live living his feelings for this whole song but i think right in that moment he was all in emotionally not just re-singing a song hes sung a million times and knowing what we know now it makes me feel so upset watching this despite it being one of the best performances ive seen live ( not in person - i wish) but i mean recorded live for us to watch
And, just like that, another year have gone by... And I'm crying again listening to one of the most important musicians of my life sing. Hes songs helped hundreds of thousand of people all over the world, and I'm honored to be one of them.
my grandmother (been in minor music businness her whole life) summed it up the best: you just cant mask emotion, no matter how well you sing. Chester always performed with all of his heart, he always wrote songs from his heart everything he wrote was his true feelings and whenever he got to performing them it wasnt technical mumbojumbo, he just let it all come out. many people try to teach "this type of singing" but it will never be the same.
this version just hits so much harderthan the studio version just because you can see his condition the scream is split in two like he often did in live shows (there are some live 1 scream parts aswell, but they are rare cuz it was haaaard)
I've been severely depressed since 2003 and heavily medicated with anti depressants since. Linkin park has continuously helped me through all these years, speaking and singing how I feel and what's going on in my head through every song. There will NEVER be another band like them. THANK YOU Chester & the rest of Linkin Park, for everything. I love you all & forever will 💜💜💜 RIP Chester, forever in my heart, you will always live through your songs 🙏
I had the pleasure of seeing him in 2017 almost a month before he left us, the only time I was able to see him live, bittersweet, I criedlike a child on July 20, 2017 Rest in peace Chester, we always love you
I’ve never heard anyone sound just about the same as they do in the studio version. I’m so sad. I love him. He was amazing. And I still listen to his music. Great video. Subbed brother.
I bought tickets for a second time to see Chester days before he passed, I saw him at Madison square garden prior and I will never forget that experience
We used to listen to LP because it was awesome NOW five, ten, fifteen or twenty years we listen because we understand Chester’s pain and the demons he was facing, and that in a way, we all have our demons.
I literally had to log out of my work associated Google account and log into my personal account to post this: I love this video, it's such a beautiful tribute to a man that gave us so much. Thank you for making something so real.
I remember the first time I saw them in concert. It was during their hybrid theory tour, I think One Step Closer was the only single out at that point, Chester was giving it his all like he always did and vomited on stage. Which led to Mike saying it isn't a real show until Chester pukes on stage. I miss Chester what a complete talent taken too soon.
In the studio version, he did the whole scream in one breath. Mike said something like Chester was having an incredible day vocally and was able to pull it off multiple times as they were recording it. 17 seconds of pure agony.
13:16 the guitarist looks so uncomfortable because he knows Chester is pouring out his heart right now. The band is amazing. And does their part. But Chester is bodying this song and the lyrics and the vocals. I couldn’t even imagine being the band members and finding out about the suicide.
Chester wrote the lyrics to this song just after getting out of rehab in 2005. This song is about what Chester felt during and after his divorce from his first wife Samantha. Chester brought the lyrics to Given Up to Linkin Park where the music part was created by the rest of the band to match the emotion Chester wrote about in the lyrics. During this performance he was showing the emotion of the song. Chester preferred to show emotion when on stage instead of doing the song perfectly every time.
Nice reaction! On the pitch, I don't understand the "it's not that kind of song" comment. I've yet to hear a live performance where pitch was not an issue, at least in some small part. Anyway, love the reaction and thanks!
I get you're a vocal coach but that doesn't mean that you have to point out the minor inconsistencies in Chester's singing/screaming. Especially while you're literally saying how you don't even care about any of those things because of it being Linkin Park in the first place. This is basically you "I don't care about this but I'm still gonna talk about it and pause the song way too fucking much while talking about a bunch of bullshit that absolutely no one even cares about." lol, like bruh
Well, somebody actually watched these videos because they care about those details, so I have to point them out. I don't care about them in terms that they don't change the feeling I get when listening to a song, but I do care about vocal stuff in general so I talk about them. Pausing is normal for these kind of videos, but if you don't wanna be bothered by pausing, go and listen to the song on their official channel, that's what I do when I'm not doing a reaction/analysis video.
In your opinion, why did people love Chester so much? What's your story

@@riddler4150 agree!

He’s performed it unbroken a number of times live-and I’ve heard he did the 17-second studio version in one take.
Always Amazing! RIP Chester! ♥️

There’s AOL live version of this song where he does that entire 17 second scream in one breath. Must check it out
I will definitely check that one out
This!
Was just about to mention this listening from across the room LoL.
check it out 17 secs scream on a tribute band th-cam.com/video/eC6vN_uAlBI/w-d-xo.html
Wise advice, that is the best version of this song by faaaar

Ugh, that was a bad idea watching "One More Light (Chris Cornell tribute)" video after this. I'm a mess now. 😭😭😭
@@kryzak123 ah man, one more light is brutal in everyway, especially that tribute and the last Chester's scream when he goes I doooooooooooo

Chester's ANGELIC VOCALS
but, SCREAMS like a DEMON
RIP CHESTER.. BEST MUSICIAN OF OUR GENERATION.....
Just feels the same. The same heaviness even five years later.
Rest in peace legend😞

Chesters' death hit me harder than anything, he was my hero in this life. He brought so much light to us in the darkness, I'll miss him forever.

The thing is when it comes to “learning” this type of singing, you can’t learn emotion. You have to experience them.

Great video. Subbed brother.
We all were thrilled and stunned by his screaming and he just was dying inside
Chester scream is breathtaking. That's one of special things he has. I held my breath each time he screamed in this show.
The man that saved thousands of lives but couldn't be saved himself. Rip Chester you are loved

I got to see this exact concert. 2007 projekt revolution in Michigan. This was for MySpace live
The sad thing is, we'll never hear this voice live again.
Fly High and Rest Easy Chester ❤️ we miss and love you Brother 🙏🏼🎙beautiful reaction man!!!

i mourn his death for 3 months,.. man it was hard..,, he is such a huge idol for me growing up.
I think the live version of “QWERTY” is an absolute master class of Chester’s angel n Demon voice.
6 Years today... 😢😢😢💔
Most singers when doing a live performance don’t care about perfection. They mainly are just there to have fun and interact with the fans.
The intro you made about your relation to LP made me think you won't react as a coach but you won't do it as a fan. And as a fan. Hell yeah 👍😂
I remember the first time I saw them in concert. I envy you so much... Wish I had a chance to see them live with Chester, especially the Hibrid Theory era

Y cuando acaban los 17 segundos en tono Gutural arranca enseguida con una potencia descomunal
Espectacular 👍
E P D 🙏😢
try "Qwerty" live summersonic 2006 by linkin park...it was also spectacular screaming and singing by Chester

Reaksi anda sangat luar biasa dan ini salah satu lagu terbaik 🖒
Rip chester😔i.m from indonesia
Oj yeah he did it in one take
CHESTER IS LINKIN PARK, LINKIN PARK IS CHESTER
we are all brothers and sisters in the linkin park fanbase
Please react to Linkin Park - Faint(rock am ring 2007), Qwerty(Tokyo 2006), Rolling in the deep(cover)
If you wish to react you might not have heard of, I would say Aesthetic Perfection with the song Gods & Gold
Next reaction is Dead By Sunrise into you by Chester Bennington
Thing is, no live version of a song imo should always be in perfect pitch.
i wish one of the youtube vocal coaches would react to qwerty live it seems so amazing to me i do not get why none have
Best band ever and always will be, I can relate to him so much, thank you for this I don’t go one day without listening Linkin park ❤
See You On Wednesday ( cakra khan - Tennessee whiskey ( chris stapleton cover )

Have you reacted to Harry Mack?
Here's where Chester nails the 18 seconds scream.

Play the fukin song
Video would have been better if you didn't pause every 5 seconds... There's no time to react, comment later...
To much pause
Hope people don't actually pay you to be a vocal coach. You can't even tell the difference between vocals coming from the "troat" or the diaphragm...
Boring
