That track, as morbid as it may sound, is literally a cry for help... Please talk to someone if you ever feel like that...we're all here.. Just talk to someone xx peace and love, Steve
One of my favorite aspects of performances like this is he's singing intentionally a little bit flat, sometimes dropping flatter, expressing the utter exhaustion of living through depression. The parts he's more pitch perfect on, in comparison, really sound like he's crying out in distress. The singing is so much less important in this piece than the expression, and he nails it. I've heard vocal coaches saying those screams are actually very controlled and healthy; he'd just trained in the style so much to be able to imitate a painful scream. There are apparently several muscles above the vocal folds that create the fry, so his actual voice is unharmed by it.
I think he takes out the hear monitor cuz he know what is comming up next, and if i have understand it right so you hear yourself in it. and if i remember it right so he was tired to play many song cuz his pain, nevermind. i have look at many of this videos with this song and group and no one talks about it, but thank you for a great video and keep it up! Chester Bennington was a lyric tenor and possessed a three octave tenor vocal range, beginning at the low bass G (G2), and reaching its peak at the tenor G (G5). His vocals showed tremendous durability for the entirety of his career. Chester Bennington had the same vocal coach as Michael Jackson, namely Seth Riggs. In an interview Seth Riggs did with redbullmusicacademy he talked about working with him: Q: You worked with Tina Turner on Tommy - can you talk about what that experience was like, preparing her to sing “Acid Queen?” A: I was introduced to her by Ann-Margret, whom I also was working with. She would only be singing [imitates Tina Turner’s upper register], that kind of thing. And she says, “People really love that.” I say “Yes, but it’s abuse.” And I said “Of course, with the money that you have made and the young men that you’ve married, you can pay for anything. You don’t have to sing that, but it would help you if you used [singing in a lower chest register].” She said “Yeah, but that doesn’t give you the character that this does.” I said “I know it doesn’t, but that’s what people do that want to save their voices for a longer term.” That’s sort of the same thing that Michael did when he went [impersonates a Michael Jackson shriek]. But he goes in the chest and then flips into falsetto so he wouldn’t hurt himself. Look at this young man that just killed himself, hung himself. Chester [Bennington]. I showed Chester this. He said “But that’s so easy.” I said, “Chester, you have a wonderful facility, but look. We’re sitting in a car now right? Who is that little baby and that lady sitting over there?” He said “That’s my baby and her nurse.” “I see. And who is the lady with the older child sitting in front of her?” “That’s my child, my older child, and my wife.” “What kind of a car are we sitting in?” “We’re sitting in a Mercedes-Benz.” I said, “How much was it?” He said “This was a special one. The fellow didn’t have the money for it and we got it on sale.” But I said, “How much?” He said, “$150,000.” I said, “Wouldn’t you like to continue this, the way you have it now?” I didn’t know about the other things that plagued him, because I had to read about what they were. We didn’t get into that. I’m not a psychiatrist. But I said, “Could you do it? I know that you pull up a lot of chest when you do it the old way, but the new way, you don’t. So, make you a deal. Get me half and half. Do it ‘half-bad.’” He said “OK, I’ll try that.” It gets them the character they want but without killing their voice.

On the album version, Chester sings a very raw, very authentic version, with 'cleaner' versions performed live. But the way he sings the album version is so interesting to me. It feel different to the aggressive rawness of songs like Given Up, and is unlike cleaner sounds like you hear on Numb. It has so much "imperfection", but it services the song so well; a song from a father to his children, about how they will always be loved and must never forget, sung from a man who seemed to struggle all this life with feeling unworthy, and doesn't want his children to ever feel the same. Even if not for a reaction, I think you'd enjoy hearing it, and find it interesting. Thank you again for the reaction!

Singing like a human, screaming like a devil .... Linkin Park In The End .... By the say, Sanna Marin, we want you also as the next Prime Minister for the Netherlands. A young intelligent lady, only having fun at a party, keep going ....
I was just gonna ask about singing with distortion, vocal fry and screaming. It seems screaming is a whole different techniques that isn't for everyone but fry or distortion can be added a little or a lot? I wondered why I didn't like this song as much as Numb, Crawling and In the End. It has the same (or more) emotion after all. I think it has to do with lacking the contrast with Mike's voice and instrumental parts and the songs melodies that give a break in the intensity of the song? Still technically it's awesome and live all this energy on stage works so well!

But you know what they say 20 - 20 hindsight is 20 -20. His death was such a loss and waste. It still pisses me off. Question -- If you were there at the finish of that song would you not go wild also??? I sure would.......

"Crawling" on yksi semmoisesta biiseistä Linkin Parkilta, jotka on lähes mahdotonta laulaa. En voi kuvitella, että Chesterin kaltaisia ihmisiä tulee enää olemaan.
After his passing this performance became like a monument to how ugly disease depression is.
He was literally screaming for help in front of tens of thousands of people and yet no help could reach his subconsciousness.
😢
Have a Wonderful Weekend 🤍
Thx! You too, see you in the live chat! ❤️
Hello, I'm from China!
Please pay attention to the Chinese rock song, in the style of Linkin park
the song was released 7 days ago
here is the title of the song:
"邱鋒澤FENG ZE , 婁峻碩SHOU(ABYSS ) "
Hello, beautiful Anna!Very cool!Thank you, dear, for the cool reaction.👍🔥🌹🇷🇺
Hi Pavel, hope all is good! Have an amazing week! ❤️
This will be my first time hearing this, 🤔👍 I'm looking forward to it. ⏳
weeeeelllll
what did you think of it? 😊
@@annavaskelainen it's not normally what I'd listen to, but they definitely have some skills. 🤔👍 Reminds me of old school punk music mixed with death metal.
@@bradt8019 Love your mindset on appreciating the skills even if the spesific genre is not something you'd gravitate to!
ihanaa löytää tällänen suomalainen!! voisitko reagoida Faouzian biiseihin/covereihin?:) suosittelen esim. Bad Dreams stripped, How it all works out stripped, I know, Elon, Desert rose cover...
okei ootkin jo yhen tehny, LISÄÄ SIIS KIITOS😀🤍
Hey Anna loved the video and im really sorry i dont speak Finnish im American but anyways ur the most gorgeous Finnish girl i have ever seen (:
Hi and thx! Hopefully you had the cc turned on at least! xx
Lol Anna I'm soo sorry if I scared u or spooked you in any way, and yes the subtitles were on. But I was gonna say that u inspire me cause I didn't know if u knew or heard of Linkin park before but keep up the good work
"Wow" Is the completely appropriate reaction to Chester 😅
Chester RIP 🍁🍂🍃🐚
Song “One More Light” live I advise you to watch
🙏
I have read comments by people who saw Linkin Park do this live.. They said the audience went crazy. Every time I watch this video, I can not help but think it was a cry for help from Chester.. But you know what they say 20 - 20 hindsight is 20 -20. His death was such a loss and waste. It still pisses me off. Question -- If you were there at the finish of that song would you not go wild also??? I sure would.......
Chester give something else because he... He give up un 2017 RIP Chester we miss u 💔😭
Oh hey so i found you again, btw i still love your eye brows haha :D
😂
@@annavaskelainen 😂😉
Voice coaches will keep trying to figure this song out. There's one answer and it's pain in the soul
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
❤️
React to AFI - Miss Murder. Thank you 😘
🙏🙏
Thanks for your reaction to LP (R.I.P. Chester). It would be great if you could share your thoughts on Alice in Chains - Love Hate Love (I recommend Live at the Moore version). Another example of a highly intense and emotionally charged performance.
Fredy Mercury, jajaja
D E P 🙏😢 Chester
Pop, Rock, Gutural
El mejor vocalista de la historia.
Nice reaction. I recommend Rolling in the deep - Chester Bennington Cover or QWERTY - Linkin Park
Would love to see you check out Diana Ankudinova performance of My Love.
I'll add your vote to "My Love" ! ❤️
Привет принцесса Анна ❤❤❤❤ According to the technique used by Tatyana (Jinjer) - there is a very professional teacher Melissa Cross. She did a great job of making that sound without compromising health. Type in TH-cam in the search for her name, there will be a lot of her materials and her channel.
Please do some more American artists! Love the content.
That scream was actually suppost to be together but sometimes he doesn't wanna ruin his vocal cords so he splits the screams.
He holds it way longer in the album recording.
Next reaction is Dead By Sunrise into you by Chester Bennington
Think u would like some Alice in chains, particular man in the box for studio version, and down in a hole for acoustic version, love hate love for live performance would be my suggestions
yeah, in this one he actually stops the scream in between. In this one he holds it the entire time

Rip chester 😕 i.m from indonesia
Muito bom 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
So you say that you are not familiar with the song and then you are singing along?
There's no denying the chorus (that is repeated multiple times during a song) is very catchy
you are reviewing a one off concert where he may have struggled with energy but also substance abuse so I don't call this fare
Check out this video with all chesters 17 straight seconds given up live performances. th-cam.com/video/TIAYWkIRBjE/w-d-xo.html
And please react to "Linkin Park - Faint (Rock am Ring 2007)" if you can. The best live of that song IMO: th-cam.com/video/eTx9XhLlQ58/w-d-xo.html
17 seconds = Chester !!
Chesteeeer ❤️
Kopsaatko charistamic Voice kanavaa ku samaa keikkaakin analysoit. Tästä on olemassa keikka jossa Chester vetää 17s huudot putkeen.
Kyseinen liveveto oli ensimmäinen hyvällä audiolla varustettu, oikean ruutukoon omaava video kun kirjoitan hakukenttään "Linkin Park Given Up Live". Oikea ruutukoko on aika tärkeä, koska olen mitoittanut mun OBS ruudun tiettyjen mittojen mukaan ja niiden muuttaminen on aina lisätyötä. 😊
U need to listen to the album version with the 17 second scream
I shall!
Do a live version where he does the full scream live Montreal 2008 for example
Hi Anna!) Can you react to Killswitch Engage and their song "The end of heartache"? Thanks!)
I'll put it to my list! Hope it'll get more votes! xx
Isn't it weird to think that, when this song came out, it was just an awesome song. And then you look at it through the lens of "Chester committed suicide," you see it for what it really was: Chester literally screaming for help.
just search "given up reaction", this the first video showed, and im not regret😂
Yaaasss welcome! I'm glad you liked this one! 🥰
I find the switch between Finnish and English very entertaining. xD
If you can click 5sec back when you paused the video

The Main Squeeze
A very wicked up and coming band from Chicago that I chanced across at a private festival a few years ago
Some of my favorites by them are
Tank x-ing
Angelus
Message to the lonely
Whiskey Women and Cocaine (probably the best song ive ever heard ) I think its titled WWC on TH-cam
Also, their cover of Man in the Mirror is arguably better than Michael Jackson's original.
Heck imma play em now. Even if u don't do a reaction, definitely check them out if you have time!!! Peace 😉

😂 same here bro!
Pistä bring me the horizon reaktiota tulemaan. Biisinä vois olla vaikka Parasite Eve joku live versio!
Sua on aina niin mukava kuunnella, analyysiä ja jotkut jää mieleen, esim twäng :p Slipknotia odottelen jotain mättöä esim My plague levyltä Iowa
Kiva tietää! 😊 Jep, twäng on aika keskeinen käsite moderneissa vokaalitekniikoissa. 😂
Slippareita tulossa, laitetaan Okolta uusi ääni heille!
@@annavaskelainen jes! 🤘🤘🤘🤘
how come only sometimes english?
I have Finnish students both too young and too old to understand if I'd speak english/write Finnish subtitles. 🙂
You should react to the official video where the scream is looooonger!
😱
You should react to a live version where he does the full scream live in Montreal 2008 for example
Please reaction Burgerkill killchestra ❤
I would suggest linkin park rolling in the deep cover 😊
Kommentoi joskus bandi jinjer pisces
Moikka Minna! Jinjerin Pisces olil itseasiassa kolmas koskaan tekemäni reaktiovideo:

@Anna Vaskelainen - I will never get it... Don´t you people do ANY kind of RESEARCH, before reacting to stuff?? Why would ANYONE react to this particular version..?? That´s just ignorant, and a WASTE of EVERYONE´s time... Including yours.
Marry me Anna haha
I'm afraid my man wouldn't like that idea haha
