So i finally found it, a song my dad used to sing only "What do you know, it's morning allready" but I never heard the actual song. He died at age 65 in 1996 of cancer. Another song he'd sing was from this era of country and western which I found out was from the movie "High Noon". This type of music was not very popular in the 70's so the chances of me finding out without the internet google searches and or youtube were nill knowing only a few of the lyrics.
+Alan Lee How fortunate you were to have met Roy Rogers! I'm sure that was a great thrill for you. He certainly was a symbol of all that was good about our western heritage. Thanks for your comment. With Best Regards, MusicBank58
The style of singing he and Gene Autry did in their movies was actually called Western Swing. Other artists that recorded it were Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys and Spade Cooley.
Very cool and jazzy tune for a cowboy song. A real classic from another era. Original vocal back up sounds and woodwinds from the Hollywood genre of the 40's. So sweet and genuinely dreamy feel. Roy Rogers was a real crooner.
The cow boy, "I" mean the child in me still enjoys Roy Roger... I can recall practising my quick draw in front of a mirror in my younger years when no one was around mind YA!...lol Happy Trails
Wonderful, and a great background by the Sons of the Pioneers as well as as a superb arrangment. BTW, in response to an earlier comment, the whistler was Ken Carson of SOP.
He actually sings this song with the Pioneers in Don't Fence Me In. Also first screen kiss by Roy & Dale even if it was only on the forehead. Great movie.
Thanks for your comment--I've never seen "Don't Fence Me In"--one of my favorites is "Son of Paleface", where Bob Hope shares a bed with Roy's horse Trigger--hilarious!--Regards, MusicBank58
My mother used to speak about Tom Mix the cowboy star of silent movies for me Roy Rogers and Hopalong Cassidy were the heroes they both had wonderful horses but Roy could sing
Thanks for your comment. My dad loved Tom Mix--he used to listen to Mix's radio show when he was a kid in the 1930s, and was a member of the "Straight Shooters" club (I still have his decoder badge somewhere). Regards, MusicBank58
Every day, along about evening When the sunlight's beginning to pale I ride through the slumbering shadows Along the Navajo Trail When it's night and crickets are calling And coyotes are making a wail I dream by a smoldering fire Along the Navajo Trail I love to lie and listen to the music When the wind is strumming a sagebrush guitar When over yonder hill the moon is climbing It always finds me wishing on a star Well what a you know, it's morning already There's the dawning, so silver and pale It's time to climb into my saddle And ride the Navajo Trail

If you can speak Spanish or will read subtitles, Mi Querido Tom Mix is a good movie.
Adoro esa musica y cantante inolvidable
He's called "The King of the Cowboys" but he got his start in a Gene Autry movie. I still love 'em both.
Dale called him Royah - haha - miss em both!!!

The song is really great !
The pictures shown in the video ... not so great, I'd rather say, childish.
