- Raising the Sheep Barn Roof
TODAY IS THE DAY!!
After 6 days of dealing with what felt like disaster after disaster, the boys are here and we are ready to RAISE THE ROOF!
It is a slow and steady process that needs as many eyes as it does hands. Watching for any pinch points, catches, just making sure it gets pulled up and over evenly.
Oh, and trying to get it done before the winds pick up…
Thanks again for all you support, love and encouragement through this time.
And now… time for clean up.

No clue how I happened across your channel, but I'm loving every video you make! I grew up with cattle and horses and it's really neat to see how a sheep ranch works. Keep it up and can't wait to see some babies hit the ground!
Your brief shot of the sheep are great! They’re all staring at you with a “what in Hell is going on” look.
The interesting part is watch there ears there not on alert mode. Also quite a few are chewing there cud they won't do that if they feel a threat I'm glad she showed that

Oh my gosh, I just watched this...after watching all of your lambing daily in late December and into January... NOW! Man you had a lot on your plate. My husband even watched the 3 episodes of the barn roof replacement. Really glad you only had a few little ones born by then. At least now you have a nice new roof!

What a great crew! I loved the shot from the far end of the barn where the sheep are just hanging out chewing their cud! I just love your sheep! They're beautiful! It's 30 degrees centigrade in our house - no air conditioning, so seeing snow on the ground is just the ticket for trying to trick my brain into thinking we're NOT in a heat wave here at the end of June/22. You had a tragedy happen but you always kept a positive attitude and finally everything came together so that's a good sign. You always kept moving forward and now it's almost complete. My heart went out for you.

I'll say what you must have been thinking, Whew!, Thank God it wasn't worse, Thank God for quick and, hopefully lasting repairs, hope your stress level has reduced at least 80, or 90%
Pens look great. Nothing nastier than soggy bedding. It will be so good to get the clean up done and everything back in order. Get some rest before the lambing begins.

The relief you feel is felt by us all.. Sheep are threatened by predators from above. In nature, they have to beware of eagles as well as wolves, so I can see where the overhead work was their primary fear.. Now, hopefully the mamas will recover from the stress and have normal babies.. Good luck. We will all be looking over your shoulder and wishing there was something we could do to help.

Crews might not like the timing or conditions of some jobs, but if they are helping good people that appreciate their effort that makes a huge difference. Chewing the cud, not bunching up badly and watching you rather than the roof. It doesn't seem to have stressed them out too much. Had a couple of really harsh days, weather wise, 2 years ago, the ewes stopped lambing and then started right back when it improved, no fuss. They are such tough little animals.
My kids (and I) are happy for ya, finally can get back to normal!!!
