I have now listened to countless Mark Lewisohm talks on youtube...but never have I heard the question/subject addressed of the night in Aug 65 when the Beatles met Elvis
At 1:36:00 They were speaking about "Elvis" memorabilia gong down in price, and even ticket sales at Graceland dropping as well. I think that most people alive today, never actually knew Elvis when he was alive. After all, he passed away, or went off on a flying saucer, (depending on who you listen to), in August, 1977. Compared to the Beatles, half of which are still alive and performing, and whose album re-issues are constantly on sale, there seems to not only be an equal amount of attention to when they were together, but even a larger audience than at that time.
Lewisohn should publish these lovely additions like the Ringo letters in a monthly edition of stuff like that to add to the first volume. It could generate him some necessary and well-deserved income, no?
I've listened to many of Mark's conversations on this 'Tune In' undertaking and I find this conversation to be very enjoyable. I'm commenting in April 2020 fepm Bellflower, California and have not purchased the first volume, but I plan to do so. 😎🇺🇸
Late on in the interview, around the 1:47:00 mark. I don't equate people disliking Yoko as removing "agency" from John. Loving and/or admiring John doesn't mean we have to agree with everything he liked, loved and enjoyed. Does no one have a good friend but dislikes his/her wife, husband or partner? Do we have to enjoy heroin and pot just because John did? We don't demean people by disliking certain aspects of their lives, or not sharing all of their enthusiasms. That train of thought is totally without logic.
Love to hear what Mark think about the 'Tavistock Institute' conspiracy - as in, I'm sure he thinks it's bollocks - but where has it originated, and are there ANY truths in it, which I guess includes the whole Faul McCartney debacle, as exposed by Mark Devlin, amongst others...If you haven't heatd, Paul has been replaced from 1966 by a musical genius, and ALL the Beatles saga was a MI5 'social engineering' exercise including their songs being written by outside agencies....Put it to bed Mark, it's gone beyond silly now. If you pump Paul's name in most search engines, the first few pages are littered with 'PAUL IS DEAD' stories...Love yr work my friend. Marc.
Dont go woke on us Mr. Lewisohn. Your pushing this "cripple act" narrative that none else is bring up. In fact in the anthology series it`s stated that he did that because he felt bad about their situation.
I remember them saying that it was just something he did and they found it amusing. He was the leader, and he did things and said things because that's who he was, and it rubbed off on them too, as a group thing.
Mark made some perfectly valid points. He's not having a go at John, just pointing out that times have changed. DId you actually listen? It's around 51 minutes

He’s literally saying we shouldn’t judge yesterday by todays standards? He’s literally defending John?
