Microchip should be injected on the back of the fish ,injected into the stomach will hurt the fish bladder 😖😖😖

Hello friends yes as what the video said is true…you will end up paying a lot more than getting your arowana in your local shop. And the process itself is very tedious some will ask for ridiculous sum of money after you make a payment for your fish. Especially the custom from the country you buy and also from your own country. And if anything happened to the fish there is no turning back because if you ask for refund or a new fish you will go through the same process and end up buying a very very expensive fish. Why did I see this because it happened to me I didn’t regret but it’s a lesson learned. I hope this comment will help all the arowana head out there.
Thank you. This was so informative. I understand CITES but in the case of this fish currently with the breeding in farms and chipping which has stopped the slaughter of males in the wild to get the fry putting them on the endangered list to begin with. So I don’t understand why the US still has this species on that list. It makes no sense. I’m a huge Asian arrowana fan. I believe they are the most beautiful with the stronger stature and of course colors. Such a shame here in US.

Most of them is Golden crossback and super red arowana, but some of the arowana is blue base type. It's how Indonesia people call it
Very informative video. I have a question for you. At what age or lengrh arowana start to get aggressive? Specially silver arowana? I have one community tank with 9 inch silver arowana round 6 inch tiger Oscar. Tiger Oscar always going after my silver arowana. Although I have managed to calm the Oscar fish, but still whenever he gets hungry, he would go after silver arowana. Silver arowana doesn't confront him. He would just swim away. maybe your other fishes are relatively too big compared with your arowana. The size of tank mates should not be more than 50% size of arowana
@@CalmingCoolWaterCreatureWorld I have 3 fishes which can relate to the size of arowana. Silver Arowana is around 9". One Oscar is around 6" and two parrots are 5.5". It's just Oscar who goes after arowana that too when he is hungry. Pls watch my Videos. Rest fishes are around 3-4 inch size.
Silver arowanas are relatively shy and docile fish compared to its Asian counterpart. Sell your Oscar or buy a flower horn to keep him in check.
@@LauranceTanza yes..but now Oscar is fine with silver arowana. Once My Arowana get bigger, Oscar will automatically adjust. BTW I have flowerhorn too but he's still a juvenile but with great personality and temperament.

please help i am buying a red arowana from indonesia to be ship to philippines, i have already paid the farm and the fish according to them is in a quarantine. the person at the quarantine is asking me to pay $819 us for customs fees.. this is 3x the amount of what i paid for the fish.. is this for real? i thought customs fees are paid at the receiving country? in this case philppines. he said that it will be refunded to me once i received the fish.. is this the correct process?

I think you should look for local fish shop. Asian Arowana is controlled animal, if you only want to buy one, it is not worth shipping. it will be very expensive.

@@CalmingCoolWaterCreatureWorld actually I am a hobbist I have a banjar arowana and one king Kamfa flowerhorn, and 1 red eared slider turtle and three Indian roof turtle which is extremely extremely rare species in the world and I have a my pet cockatail bird but a sad news is my banjar red arowana is suffering from pop eye and it almost got recovered 70 percent I am treating it with bactinol and nutreal salt. And Bro to be honest before this banjar arowana I had one very poor quality golden arowana which died by jumping out of the Aqurium and same my jardini arowana also died by jumping out off the aquarium but I learned many lessons in this hobby

The fish farm will not just export one fish to you. The minimum is 6 in a box. You would need to contact the farm, they will tell you what is available, you make a partial or full payment, and they will then apply for export permits. Once they have received these permits, they will send them to you. You would then take these and apply for your CITES permits from your own country, and send photocopies to the farm. The application of permits at both ends requires a fee. You would then pay the farm their ground transport fee and shipping. When they land in your country, you will also pay a landing fee. That is why imported arowanas are so expensive.
@@LauranceTanza u know any farm in Vietnam and I am can't afford big size , Evey hobbyist like small fish and grow them (so they sale (5,6-7 inch) arawana , then I buy 6 arowana .
