Colin is a wonder. For me not just in how good he is at his profession in entertaining us but also on a personal level. First I watched him in 'Humans' and although I liked his performance as Leon Elster very much, others like Will Tudor or William Hurt impressed me too. Then 'Merlin' found its way to my screen (albeit very belatedly) and I loved the chemistry between Colin and Bradley which made the Merlin/Arthur interactions so much more enjoyable. For a while it seemed my fascination with Colin was based on my love for the way he played Merlin. But as time went by I had to admit this actor has a hold over my state of mind that goes beyond what other actors ever achieved. There are many handsome actors and there are many talented actors and even the number of talented handsome actors is staggering. Some of them even play iconic characters with angelic personal traits and I enjoy watching them. Nothing much ever happened to me when I do. With Colin however, it is very different. Wherever I see him, whatever he says, my heart jumps up, I get excited and all my physical and mental reactions show signs of being overwhelmed with admiration. The more projects I watch him in (or even when he's doing audiobooks) the worse it gets. That would be alright if I were a teenage girl but I'm older than him! Sounds as if I'm losing it, right? Any suggestions on how to escape this affliction?
All you have to do is think that this will never happen. When you always think of that person, it is not useful for your life. Think this is very stupid. Always think about your future plans. I think so. I think this is really useful. Because I had a time like that too. Now I always think my future. plz don't think I am your enemy.
@Christina and Shibu: thx for answering. Somehow didn't get a notice of Christina's advice. Ofc, you're right. The best way would be to stop watching him. I'm working on it. It has something of an addiction and I need to wean myself off him. Easier said than done. Already told YT to never recommend several clips with taunting thumbnails of Colin ever again. YT incessant ways to nurture my affliction is part of the problem. Didn't touch three films with him I physically have within easy reach for months now. Was afraid it would plunge me further into the wrong direction. Rewatching him in what I already know should be safer. Alas, all this doesn't really address the underlying causes for his effect on me. There seems to be something seriously wrong.

Idk. The more roles I see him in the more distant he gets from Merlin. Merlin was a major part of his life and will always remain his breakout role but to me that doesn't define him. I love seeing his growth as an actor and the different projects he undertakes.

I suggest you a solution. It’s like constantly watching someone else’s videos. I think it will be really functional.
