Absofuckinlutely NO ONE could rock like Zevon, in his early years. Then, in his middle years, he grabbed you by the soul and the cerebral cortex and MADE you THINK. In his later years, he became the Life Teacher, recounting his life, his thoughts, his feelings, and tightened his grip on your deepest self. Then....he wrote and performed "The Wind", reached inside your chest, and took your heart with him when he left. Rocker, teacher, philosopher and by-God incredible example of genius that comes to you raw and unrefined...all these things and more. Rock the Pillars of Heaven, you amazing Renegade, you! I've enjoyed my sandwich, and my ride's here. I'll be seeing you again any day now, Warren. And it's alright....
Brenda Harper U should've done his eulogy! I've always known this song (who doesn't) but I'm just now getting into exploring the rest of his music. & it's def all good so far. Should've checked it out sooner. But there are ALOT of musicians out there that don't get their rightful due in my opinion & I'm searching them all out. & it takes awhile!
Put him in the rock and roll hall of fame already. The man wrote one of the most incredible albums of all time on his deathbed. He’s incredible. Talent and dedication worthy of the hall of fame no doubt.
There was a time in Soho in London and you could randomly throw your head back and go yahooo. In seconds you could hear yahoos coming from everywhere. Wahooooooo! 😁
his band is unbeilvable i mean ,...they had to be on there toes !!! cause idt they new to for sure what was happen next !!! jezz what a great dude !!!!!
Every day I get my Zevon - on! He was so amazing! His music helps me get through everything! Pain.... sickness...stress! I listen to Warren and it goes away... thank you Warren!
Did not know much of Warren's (considerable) talents before I saw him perform in a small club in my hometown - Brisbane, Australia - in the mid to late 1980s. He move effortlessly between 4 instruments and yet his voice was the the force de jour. He left more than a favourable impression as a talented singer song writer. Sadly, gone long before his time. Thanks for the memories.
He had some of the all time greats play on his records. “Werewolves” had Mick Fleetwood and John McVie on drums and bass and Waddy Wachtel on guitar. Waddy co wrote it.. The song was produced by Jackson Browne. A classic.
Knew about Waddy but not Mick & John. No wonder that thing rocks so good! I was in HS when it broke big back in the day. Instant classic. Pep rallies you could count on some Toga! Toga! Toga! & some A-oooooohs too.
The first time I saw him was in 1980-I was tired from working all day, so I wanted to relax and enjoy the show. Bruce Cockburn put on a great show. Warren started his set and had everyone one on the stage floor standing on the folding chairs- going absolutely crazy. One great song after another. He had everyone in his palm. I've see scores of concerts, and Zevon, by far, brought the house down. RIP Warren. I Miss You
This man truly was a fuckin fantastic musician. Wow. Sadly missed. I know it's trite, but it's still true, his like will not be seen again. Thanks Warren.
You can measure the quality of a performer by their live shows. This is brilliant. I would have loved to have been in the audience that night! Thanks Warren.
If only Lon Chaney Jr. had lived a few years longer to see this song written. If he staggered out on-stage about half drunk during the song the place would go crazy.
I can remember seeing Warren Z. on the Letterman show in what must have been a difficult experiance for him because he was so very ill at the time. He passed shortly after that. His wonderful body of work will never be forgotten.
First time hearing this was watching “The colour of money “ Tom Cruse was showing off in a pool hall and I mean just thrashing all the locals to this tune and just as he pots the black HIS HAIR WAS PERFECT……ahhohhh
The band was: Warren Zevon - vocals, guitars, piano; Randy Brown - guitar, vocals; Joe Daniels - drums; Larry Larson - bass; John Wood - lead guitar, vocals.
You all need to eat at Lee How Fook in Philly Chinatown!! We have gone there for 30+ yrs!! loved Warren for 30+ yrs! Real deal Chinese Cantonese food. LEE HOW FOOK in Philadelphia. Love Warren Zevon!! Love Lee How Fook!! ask someone what lee how fook means!!!!!
NO theater rocked like the Capital Theater in Passaic, NJ! That place is the real Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame. First concert I saw there was in 1972 - Jackson Browne and Bonnie Raitt.
The legendary Capitol Theatre. EVERYONE played this spot. Even the Stones, in the midst of their Some Girls tour in 1978 popped in for a surprise show.
It was a major venue for the NYC market. I imagine it was less costly to book an act there than in Manhattan at The Bottom Line or the Academy of Music on the east side highway.
@@chasbodaniels1744 We lived not to far away. Right near NJ Rt.3 on concert days, cars of kids would get off at our exit and ask for directions. It got to where they would pull up...we'd point and say...8 lights that way, turn left, 3 lights, and you're there.
Now THIS is what rockin' sounds like. What an absolute genius Warren was.
All the band great!
some found out about him too late;(
This guy must be the MOST UNDERRATED singer/songwriter EVER!
John Ward he was he wrote many songs for other bands that became big hits ... Such a shame.
John Ward for real man one of the greatest
I love mune 🎮 t
John Ward Yet he’s overrated among anybody who ever played an instrument.
Yes, he and Meatloaf for sure.

Rock and Roll Hall o Fame just doesnt deserve to have Zevon
Warren, ain’t holding nothing back. He gave it all. RIP, rocker.
