@@janedoelette1771 thanks, I can’t wait to see how Risky Business looks in 4K and to see Rebecca for the first time. I saw Vertigo for the first time last weekend and loved it.
cool pickups. i should check out Rebecca. Never seen it. Saw Takeout a couple years ago. Enjoyed it. Not familiar with High & Low. I’ve only seen maybe 4 of his films. I always feel like I need to be in certain frame of mind to sit down and watch his stuff.
@@STEVEHEROLD thanks. Yes, that’s the way I am with a lot of foreign language films because you have to be ready to read subtitles. I think that Japanese films take less focus on the subtitles because they’re so visual.
@@STEVEHEROLD yes, I really liked Notorious, Rear Window and Vertigo recently and I’m curious about Rebecca and why it won the Oscar. Man, that elevator scene in Take Out was heart breaking with everything he had been dealing with that day. You knew something was going to go wrong on that last delivery with all that money only on him, he had to have had around $700.00 on him.
Great pickups! I really wanted to get that Risky Business release. Hopefully next sale. I think I just have the studio release of Rebecca. A Best Picture winner! Need to check it out and some more Hitchcock soon. Take Out sounds interesting and worth a watch. I have had Seven Samurai for a year or two and have yet to check it out. Always heard great things about it and Akira Kurosawa. Will have to give it and High and Low a watch at some point. Hopefully we can get together during the next sale.
@@physicalmediaman thanks. Yes, I’m excited to see Rebecca, I’ve been watching a lot of Hitchcock’s movies recently like Notorious, Rear Window and Vertigo. North By Northwest was great too. Seven Samurai is a long movie, but worth a watch. I once spent a Friday night watching all 3 commentaries. 😂 Yes, we need to meet up in November and definitely do a Livestream before that.
Great stuff, Steve. I absolutely love risky business, I will never forget seeing it theatrically as a 15-year-old. My mom actually took me and a couple of my buddies to see it, talk about embarrassing, especially during the train scene.😂
@@jimtatro6550 thank you. Yes, it has a great ‘80s cast as well and it’s stood the test of time decently, but it’s been a little bit forgotten and Criterion is breathing new life into it. Tom Cruise is still the biggest star to emerge from it though. I hoped that it has some new special features and I’m going to watch it on Friday.
@@excelsiormoviereviews I already owned the previous Blu-ray release, however, I might have to double dip on this one because again, I absolutely love it
@@jimtatro6550 I usually trade in the old copy when there’s a new release, unless the new one is only 4K and I want to keep a Blu Ray copy. This is a combo pack and I loved buying it.
@@betterversionn I’m looking forward to watching it and I have liked the 5 or 6 films that I’ve seen from Kurosawa so I don’t think that I can be disappointed. I have seen Ran and I own Dreams on Criterion and obviously the two actors that I mentioned in the video weren’t in those two, but I liked them as well. I’m disappointed that Ran is only available on DVD and it’s out of print through Criterion. I checked it out from the library and it may have been a Studio Canel Blu Ray release.
RISKY BUSINESS AND A HITCHCOCK!!! VERY NICE!❤

High and Low is awesome. I think I heard that Spike Lee is currently working on a remake.
@@hunterdean4766 yes, that’s interesting that he would attempt a remake, but I’m excited to see the original first.

Another great haul, Steve! I'm going to do one more order on the site, hoping to grab 4 more. 😊
