Thank you for your interesting footage In terms of massage therapy I guess I am a novice ( 1yrs 8 months ) Often I myself go for a massage and I never ever receive this technique. However , when I perform massage therapy on my clients I always always use this technique . It is extremely interesting that in our Western culture massage is different . You mention tapotement lightly on the head but countries like India are the very opposite .Once again thanks for the footage
I’ve seen the strong Indian tapotement on the head. I’m not sure if there’s a backed reason for it because It feels like they’re just smackig the clients brain around
Not much to add here but I know TH-camrs need comments. My current massage therapist doesn’t adhere to the spine rule and I fully understand why it’s a rule.
Omg Spencer I love you making videos with techniques too. Are u using a lot of Fascial techniques with your clients!? Do you know any online courses related to massage if someone wants to learn more? I'm in my last year of school now
I first read this as facial techniques and almost replied 😅 but yes lots of fascial work, especially around joints. I love teaching clients about fascia because it’s so involved
I heard somewhere that Cupping can cause issues. (I mean those glass things they put on basically the back heating them and moving them around. Is this true?
The glass one's are fire cupping, which needs fire, hence the name. This makes it more dangerous because of not only the heat, but the fire source itself. Most massage insurance companies do not cover fire cupping. Cupping with silicone or plastic is safer and the only dangers are cupping too close to arteries or other endangerment zones and leaving the cups on for too long.
Wait how anyways do. You massage people if u cant see ther muscles sometimes? You replied “i use anatomy to feel for them” but what i dont understand is usually u cant see the muscle is because either the muscle isnt exercised often enough or client has extra bodyfat, so if there is bodyfat in the way, you would be feeling the fat.
@@GallantDrop1196 good palpation skills. You can feel muscle through fat once you’re good enough and if you can’t, you can activate the muscle to feel it contract. I can make a video but If you can’t feel the muscle you need to improve your palpation skill
@@HMMHarwood ok but what doesent make sense is how do you feel muscle through fat? I exercise tho myself and am trying to be ripped so massage therapists wont have a problem but i hate being touched anyways…
@@GallantDrop1196 I personally can't. Personally don't like massaging overly obese people because I can't feel the muscles as many of them overflowing with fat and to feel the muscle, I have to feel through the fat, which is often closely attached to the muscle and can hurt. I typically can't do more than a medium swedish at best with obese clients, not just because of the feeling issues, but also do to their pain tolerance.
Strictly speaking as a client here but I always learn from your videos and I definitely always enjoy them. Thank you 🙏🏻
@@timbt3344 I’m glad it helps clients and therapist both!
I always learn so much from your videos, and really enjoy each one!
I love these kind of moves towards the end of a massage to help me transition from being spaced out to getting off the table
Maybe instead of alarm clocks, everyone just needs tapotement to wake up!

Thank you Spencer for your help with more ideas to include in my profession

Appreciate the comment! And uh oh, the spines pretty important they shouldn’t be hammering into it
Maybe this person shouldn’t be your massage therapist any longer.
Amazing

Looks relaxing. I wonder why some people have full of muscle knots all over their body, especially on back🤷♀️
Phones, computers, *gestures around vaguely*
Brilliant man Spencer ❤
Yippee!

@@lunawolf3645 Thanks for the info. Still are some on TH-cam using that fire method
Glute work hurts so much for me. I have a tiny butt and my fat is all in the abdomen. The muscles in my butt are constantly wicked tight.

@@lunawolf3645pain is weakness leaving the body also why would an obese person need a massage if they dont exercise
Swedish massage is a waste of money
If I win the lottery I want a chair tapotement massage every morning (chair so I’m sitting up)
Hay how much can a masseur in a hotel earn?
Let's face it, dude, tapotement is total BS, man!
