AMEN on the beautiful life-giving BIBLE! ❤ I need... an organized space with large tables to spread out and curriculum that doesn't have a lot of moving parts to keep track of.

I remember seeing you talk about the student logbook and I couldn’t remember what it was called. I looked online for it for hours in Saturday. Went through some of your videos and then second guessing whether it was you or not. 😂 so glad I chose to watch this video.

Thanks for sharing, Janelle! You always have wonderful biblical encouragement for homeschool moms and love all your homeschool must-haves. Yes, for me the bible is very essential not just for my kids, but for me as a homeschool mom, wife, homemaker, and just plainly living this life. My family has gotten through so many hardships that if it weren't for God and His word it would be impossible to get through. I get up early every morning to spend time reading, meditating, and praying to get through most hard days. Yes, having a solid biblical curriculum is a must, because I am so disorganized and can't just rely on a library card. S0, my two musts are the Bible and Biblical Curriculum to make my planning easier.

I agree with you on curriculum. We tried the whole "just have a library card and curiosity" approach but found a quality curriculum removed a LOT of stress. My planner is my next essential.

Agreed! The library and kids curiosity sounded wonderful until I realized how much work it actually was for me. I'm thankful for my curriculum!

    Hi Janelle!💖
I have nowhere near the experience you have😅. I’m just starting my third year homeschooling my 1st and 3rd graders and it is such a blessing! I love it!🌟 I agree with you 100% on your most important must-have! God first……everything else comes after.
Love your channel! It has been a blessing to my homeschool!💖

Yes! I do love my bookshelves and a cozy couch to read all the books on with my kids. ❤️

Yes! I love that in your top 4 non-negotiables in your homeschooling - the bible is top priority!

I loved this and I am very similar with Bible as number one! I would also say my mom binder, lots of great books to pair with our curriculum, and a printer/copy machine. I didn’t realize how much I use ours until it went out the day before we started this new homeschool year. Finally, I will say a stocked kitchen and coffee. It may sound like I’m joking, but this mama bear needs her caffeine in the morning and my growing kids need access to food throughout the day.

I do use my printer/copy machine often too! Especially in the beginning of the school year. :)

We call it a sticker sheet. It's the kiddos' daily tasks and they put a sticker by it when they're done (chores and subjects). 2. We are in the van a lot. So, a backpack with all their books. 3. Each of the 5 boys have a filing crate/milk crate on a cabinet where they keep all their books and school supplies. 4. Computers for online curriculum for mama's help and sanity (Of course THE LORD AND HIS WORD - AMEN)

Backpacks are a must for us the years we do co-op and/or have a lot of extra activities. Love the milk crate idea for storing books and supplies. Thanks for sharing!

What are your must-haves for homeschooling?

Thank you for this video, Janelle. I love hearing ideas from others. 😊 I, too, need God's Word in my mind, and Christ working in me. To add to your list, I also need my frixion pens to make adjustments in my planner. I use a different color for each child's assignments. 😄

Frixion pens are a favorite over here as well. I use them the same way you do. My kids like using them on worksheets as it's more colorful and fun than a regular pencil.

Amen!! The Bible is definitely the most important! We reference what we meant from our Scripture reading in every subject.
Struggling in math? Have you asked God for help who gives wisdom?
Did well in lit today? Give thanks to God!

Thank you for sharing. I like your simple layout for checklists.
Do you have any advice for balancing what the older kids need and their interests with infants and toddlers? Also, would like to know any tips on school with older kids while juggling toddlers and infants.
I have 6 kids from ages 15 to 2 weeks old.
My older kids want to go, do and be social but infant/toddler care is a whole other world.
I dont know how to keep the older ones challenged and busy at home or the little ones entertained and safe out and about.

I have several podcast episodes about homeschooling multiple kids and homeschooling with babies and toddlers. You can find all the podcast episodes here: www.janelleknutson.com/podcast/
Episodes 2, 3, 9 & 13 should be the most helpful. I also have several blog posts on my website that you might find helpful. :)

Some of my older videos on how I organized for specific grades goes into that a little bit. Each year looks a little different as it really depends on what curriculum we are using.
