@@OdinMakes thats not your fault though, ben 10 was animated frame for frame so the omnitrix gets a little funky and gives a Mandela effect where people think it should look different, plus there's like 10 variants now, but personally I think it looks great!

I'll admit, when he showed a screenshot of the show but then traced over the image of the reboot i was worried- but mid episode he caught the differences and adjusted. that's why you the best, Odin

You could make the stone mask from ‘jojo’s bizzare adventure: phantom blood/battle tendency!’ It would be an interesting challenge to do, being organic and stony, and we all know how much you love headpieces!
Since you've done this one, you should consider trying to make either the Ben 10,000 omnitrix, the Ultimatrix, or the Omniverse version of the omnitrix.
They all have very interesting and varied designs

I used to have the official Omnitrix toy, and I remember pretending to transform all the time. God, that was over a decade ago now. That's crazy.
me and my friend when we didnt even be friends yet we did go to an random shop here in brazil and we did find a ben 10 toy that looked like the omnitrix and our moms did buy for us and when we tried to transform to an alien,which mine was cannonbolt and their was unknown and we tried and we looked on our bodies and it didnt work,my friend did scream and running around the house and me too lol

If you're on a cartoon prop kick, I'd love to see the Real Ghostbusters and Extreme Ghostbusters proton packs, traps, pke meters, etc.
But given your love of masks and helmets, you've gotta do a Marvin the Martian helmet.
i was a Ben 10 fan since i was 5. I used to make omnitrixes out of cardboard as a child. Even made the dial so it pops out and I could change the image it's displaying. Looking back now, they didn't look all that good, but it wasn't terrible either, and back then I loved it so much.
The thing I like about Odin Makes videos is yea he's showing you how to make each prop, but he's explaining in a way that teaches you steps to take for building nearly any prop, which is really helpful for someone like me who is horrible at making a game plan when doing ANYTHING

This honestly is the best looking hand made omnitrix prop I’ve ever seen. It looks so clean, and I love the subtle realistic touches you have it like the dry brushing and the tapered shape. In the future, it would be awesome if you made more custom props like your sci-fi helmet you did a while back. Maybe your own fantasy sword or some other weapon, or even just an accessory like a wizard satchel or something.

One thing I love about this channel is it's clean and you can follow the steps as your watching it. I love how he talks you though each step and as detailed as possible. That and his voice is nice to listen to in the background while I'm busy with stuff.

Turned out perfect! The fact that the band is tapered to fit your wrist doesn't look odd at all!
The reference art you used to make the first pattern was from the Reboot in 2016 while the episode stills were from the original series as they are in radically different art styles it can cause some issues in scale and proportions. I hope this helps clear up the confusion if you hadn't figured it out already.
Not sure if anyone else mentioned it, but the reason your initial sketch was so different from the reference picture you used is that the reference is a screencap from the original Ben 10 that aired in 2005, whereas the sketch is of the Omnitrix from the 2016 reboot, which had a different art-style. Still though, great job! You nailed it!

Fantastic build Odin, would have been fun to see LEDs in it but I totally understand what a pain it would have been to fit it all in that prop. On a side note in the cartoon the omnitrix changes it's size and fit to suit the wearer, so it would be fine if things were different sizes

Can we all agree that the original Ben 10 had the most cool and intimidating Four Arms?
It had the best art style besides the Generator Rex crossover, but in my opinion; Omniverse had the best Four Arms design wise.
It's fine that you adjusted the Omnitrix to fit your arm because the Omnitrix adjusts its size to fit the user so it'd make sense that you adjusted it
I think the art you used for the straight on view is from like Ben 10: Omniverse and not the original show and thats why its different

When I was a kid I allways tried to make an omnitrix with the round thing popping up (the thing it does so that ben can chose the alien he wants to transform into) but I never managed to do it right :(

Hey Odin Makes! I was wondering if I can ask your advice please? I've already being asking other TH-camrs who makes Ben 10 Props about this but I thought it couldn't hurt to ask around to get another opinion on the matter. I've recently got a Race Against time Omnitrix that was 3D printed with magnets embedded in the strap to help keep it together. It was great that the 3D printing studio was able to go to the trouble and I'm really grateful for it but I'm finding the magnets aren't as strong as I would like them to be. It's not a major issue as I'm finding ways around but I can still use some help. I've seen people use various methods to bind the straps together on their versions of the omnitrix like electrical tape and Velcro. But I don't know how to go about myself or what would be the best option. What would you recommend I can do to help keep the omnitrix strap together on my wrist?

For clarification, the reason that the image you traced and the screenshot in the show are so different is because the one you traced was from the Ben 10 reboot which has a different artstyle than the original show, which the screenshot came from.
Aside the tapered shape, I enjoyed seeing this made, you should make the other three versions. Oh, and the tapered design would fit the Ultimatrix more

Next omnitrix is alien force version?
4:55 it’s because the 2 omnitrixis are from two different shows, the one you traced first was from the reboot and the one on the screen was from the OG classic series.
Don’t worry about the taper. Just a bit of lore for you, the Omnitrix changes size for the wearer sense it’s made for anyone to be able to wear. Also, the reason your original was off was because you copied the reboot and not the original and then started changing things to look more like the original. In the end, it looked just like it. Great job!
I'd love to see a Godsword, or something else from Runescape, either in the low-poly style, or realistic.
This'd be so cool. I've always thought that Runescape (especially RS3) has huge cosplay potential if done right. I'd love to see a Godsword, or even a piece of armour like a helm of Neitiznot.

Really great. Ben 10 has been an interesting show through it's reboots.
The reason first diagram looks "wrong" is because the omnitrix you trace in the beginning is from the most recent reboot. Then the second image IS from the original show.
I think the problem he was having with the dial size consistency was that his drawing was based off of the reboot and the reference was the original one

If you’re curious, the discrepancy between images was due to one shot being from the original series, and the other actually being from the much more recent (and incredibly differently styled) reboot.

I took your advice and decided to make my own ice king crown. It's coming out really good so far, the shape is all cut out and I have the gems being 3d printed by my friend. The main issue was that in the show, the number of points always changes so I had to decide how many points to make myself. But I think 5 was a good number. You're definitely right about cartoons not drawing things consistently

You should do other versions of the omnitrix.
The button/light on the side is just that a button that lights up same as the watch-face (Green if charged ready to transform, Red if charging unable to transform and turns Ben human/normal) Ben would press that button and active the watch make the face/dial pop up so he can select witch alien he wants to transform into, (then the count down starts witch is always a random duration, when it ends it needs to recharge)
Yes I know pretty much anything/everything about Ben10 sometimes it might take me a while to think of it but I’ll most likely get it right. (Any questions I had and or any questions someone else had)
P.S. I love your videos Odin I’ve been waiting for this video but got distracted/preoccupied with other stuff and finally got back to find you made an Omnitrix.

Another epic prop, Odin. And one from my childhood no less, the Omnitrix was always one of my favorite props from any show.
Well, Odin is right that a hair dryer doesn't really work on HD foam.
I tried using it in the past - a hair dryer doesn' work on HD or craft foam (the 2mm type),
BUT
it works on a regular soft mat foam - that kind of pastel-colored kids puzzle.
I really like how you made the base of it that goes around your arm, and I like how you velcro it with the dial itself, but I think it's a little thin to be show accurate, if I make my own I might try to make it thicker, and also shape the inside so that it can be more even on the outside like in the show. I also want to make it thicker so I can have a functioning dial that lets you select an alien... but I am not sure how to make that work, and it would also mean I wouldn't be able to make the velcro connect under the dial... hmm...
Ive been making all the versions of this over the years and trying to make it functional with a turning dial and pop up features that sometimes work, its very relieving to see a professional prop maker tackle this and have it look as good as it does, i cant get over how accurate it looks, thank you Odin!

I'd love to see you do a series of weapons from Buffy: the Vampire Slayer. The hunga-munga from Season Three's first episode, "Anne," the Kit Rae/Gil Hibben Jackal that the Mayor gave to Faith (also Season Three), the daggers Faith used in Season Seven, and of course the Slayer's Scythe from Season Seven.
