I was curious about the black piece of plastic that came with a handle if it went on the inside underneath the handle or on the outside and as I was removing my old handle my question was answered my old handle has it on the outside. But with the aftermarket handles that I purchased there's nothing to hold the piece of black plastic on unless I glue it. SMH
Does this procedure work for an1996 Ford Mustang? Please help!! I can't seem to find any video that demonstrates how to replace/install a 1996 Ford Mustang outer door handle. Thanking you in advance.
Funny you didn’t explain how the inside door rod that you put through the handle is way too long even with the rod down you still have to bend the rod to slide the handle the new one ! Oh yeah... great videos 👌🏼. Just like the door lock actuator I just bought( a monkey can put it in(. And it doesn’t work worth ah ?$!%#
*sigh* My door handle seems to be fine, it's the door metal bending under it. Anyone have this issue and a fix? Figuring I need to install a metal plate behind the thing door shell and rivet the new handles through it.
Opening the doors in these cars is a unique experience but like a bicycle , once you ride it one time you never forget it,you have to keep your hand stationary and slightly flick your wrist up, what happens is most people want to "pull" on the handle and over the years end up weakening the sheet metal on the door and also messing up the handle in the process,Ive gotten to the point that whenever i take someone for a ride or i have a passenger i just open the door for them so they can get in,lol
Ana Gutierrez I bought a harbor freight large rivet gun & it looks exactly as the one shown in the video, included with mine was 3-4 other size rivets. It's about $5.00 cheaper on their website as opposed to LMR.com.
Inserting the rod into the new handle is near impossible with the door panel still attached. Can it be done, yes. Is it a pain in the you know what, yes. Removing the door panel makes the process much easier. -Landan
I always shop LMR however of all the great products the rivet gun is not up to standards, it's a cheap Pittsburgh gun and never worked for me, I had to buy a cheap on on Amazon that just works. Other than that great videos
Ana - I apologize the rivet gun did not live up to your standards. Next time, please reach out to one of our great Customer Care Representatives so that we can make sure you are 100% taken care of. Thanks! -Landan
I apologize too, the thing is I bought this along with other stuff like shocks and struts, weather strip, etc. These items were purchased last year and i didn't get to install the door lock until now a year later after I painted the car. Everything you sell has been great quality and like many of the things I've purchased I was expecting this rivet gun to work as well. I didn't contact you guys because it's been maybe more than a year. Just want you to know that this Rivet gun or anything else that may be defective does not change the fact that you have a customer for life and will always shop at LMR for any of my restoration needs. You guys are always awesome when it come to customer service.
Ana - Thank you for the wonderful feedback. We work extremely hard to provide the absolute BEST customer service in the industry. Thank you for being a loyal LMR customer. -Landan
I linked another video below with the stamp that will help you. If needed, pause that video to see how the latch rods are situated. Because of the small working area, it's difficult to show what's happening inside of the door frame. Thanks for understanding. -Landan th-cam.com/video/Vwb4JRDTmrY/w-d-xo.html
“Sure thing Jeff”
video didnt age too well did it hahaha

Do I need a new Door Handle? I lift my handle up (with door unlocked)
and it will not open the door. I have metal outer handles.
Will this work on a 85
Which way does that small white plactic bushing go in?
I'm assuming you're referring to the bushing for the latch rod? If so, there is no particular orientation for that bushing. -Landan
I cant seem to remove the mandrels with the drift and hammer, am I doing somthing wrong?

rivet size?
Thx
It was 1/4 for me
You are correct,They are 1/4,they are massive rivets,i think the first reply was talking about the size of the rivet nail and not the actual rivet
Mine was 1/4, looks like it may differ from year to year but they send different rivets with the purchase of the Kit
