I have found a few videos with this engine, although Ford no long has the 535 hp engine (I think they are rated at 450 nowadays, although Ford offers the 427 aluminum 600 hp race engine), but have not found a video with the 460 small block crate engine.
We used the intake and distributor as sold by Ford. It all came completely assembled and we just had to fill up with oil and adjust the timing. We did not go up to the max revs yet - still in breaking in, But 6000 should be the least. Have a very long 5th gear for the top speed and torque and power is enough, I think.
We haven't been able to drive it a lot, but so far it feels very good. A lot of power and driveable too. Problem is, the manifold is pretty high so there is not much clearance to the hood. The car has the low building hood, as you can see. It's tight! Oil pan is rally deep too, so we had to rebuild it so the steering fits underneath, But it was worth it! Good engine! Plans are to go 300 km/h with it. We had it to 286 km/h (GPS-measured) with the old enginewhich seemed less powerful. We'll see;-)
When I had my 64 1/2 mustang cobra my neighbors got annoyed of the sound at start up when I went to work in the morning. High performance engines need to warm up a bit, he he. 😀

No, it wasn't cold, The carbs probably need some adjustments and maybe the fuel pump needs to be replaced. Still testing. this almost was the first run after installing the engine.

How well do you think your mustang w/ that engine will compete w/ the Ferrari, Lamborghini, Lotus, Porsche over there.
just mounted the same engine in my 68 shelby. I saw you had a starting issue at first. Mine wont start anymore... thinking its the stupid pink resistive wire ford installed back in the day. Did you have the same problem or did you just end up bypasssing it ?

it's Germany .. where else could you legally go 300 km/h (186 mph) ;-) Bought it from fordracingparts directly. We have a 430 Scuderia and a 575 Maranello. It can compete up to 200 km/h easily, after that it gets a little chewy because of the long fifth gear. Most Porsches are no problem and they make funny faces when they are overtaken by a car from 1967. That is on the Autobahn of course ... Curves are another story, allthough it's not bad there too.
If that was a 427FE nothing from GM will touch it and only the Hemi may beat it. So why all the Chevy hot rods? Chevy's are cheap to build, Fords require a bit of finesse.

(eleanor68.blogspot.com) Yesterday I finally tried to mount the engine in the engine bay, however I'm having issues with the headers, I'm using the hookers pro competition #6116. They don't seem to fit. What headers did you use? Did they mount easily after the engine was mounted? Grtz
We used JBA 1653SJT look at Summit part no.:JBA-1653SJT yes, they mounted good but it seems, we have a little more space in our engine bay than you have. Engine position is not stock in ours. and sorry for the late reply ... didn't see it until now.
@@440er only three were built for the 2000 movie. All three were mocked up '67 Shelby GT500 Mustangs with 351w HO crate engines. 1974 movie had '71 Mustangs made to look like '73 Mustangs.

Legend has it the starter has more miles than the car its self haha sounds like a 7.3 powerjunk trying build HEUI pressure to start haha

Sounds like ur carburetor is lean bc it started only after alot if cranks, either that or your running low octane fuel.
