    I really like this washing machine.
    I have a GE SpaceMaker portable washing machine and it's pretty good.
    I definitely think the agitator on your little Danby is very very good.
    My house is 98 years old and the kitchen is very tiny and I don't have a basement or a place for a dedicated laundry room so these small washers are great.
    Excellent review and I found it very relaxing.

    Nothing better then to have your own washer. You can manage drying them but the washing machine is a must. Great vidio I like your washer. Very aggressive agitator old school but there the best! Thank's for the great vidio!!!

      How do you make the hoses longer, drain hose and the intake water hose? Is it possible to buy long ones?

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@frostflower5555 The water hose just screws onto the back, and it looks like a standard fitting. The drain hose connects inside the washer underneath. You would likely have to take the bottom cover off to swap it out. I'm not sure where you could buy longer hoses, but I'm sure something would work!

    • @frostflower5555
      @frostflower5555 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@VacTech1 You mean to change the drain hose, I'd have to take off the whole cover? I can't pull out the old one and insert the new one?

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@frostflower5555 That's right. You'd have to likely remove the cover on the bottom to get to it, as the house routes inside the washer.

    Hi because of your earlier demos I had purchased the newer version of this washer. I had to sell it because on the high water level setting it always threw water all over the floor so in order to prevent that I had to use a lower water level that was getting on my nerves. They discontinued the agitator style and now they only have the wash plate style. That agitator is certainly very aggressive when I did towels it actually threw the water over the side if you put a lot of clothes in it it’s better but if you don’t wash as much like I always have smaller loads the water came over the top. I agree with you though it was an excellent Washer and I’m glad to see that you still have it. Do you still have the vintage one I believe it was a GE portable? Which was actually a whirlpool/Kenmore.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I'm sorry to hear the newer version had that issue! On mine, only when overly full would it spill water over the top, but it only happened to me a few times, and it was because it was too full. I can't speak for the newer models, as I'm still using this one!
      Yes, I do still have the vintage one. That thing works great too! Thanks for watching!

    Beautiful washer and superb cleaning action. Without a doubt one of the best cleaning washers out there on the portable side. A little bit on the aggressive side if delicates were to be cleaned. Speaking of delicates, does it have a delicate cycle? This agitator design looks almost identical to the old school speed queen commercial style top load washers that most laundromats use to have (or still do).

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes it does have a delicate cycle, as well a shorter "quick" cycle. Thanks for watching!

      @@VacTech1 Awesome. I had a feeling it would have. Plus with enough water i'm sure it can buffer up the delicates to avoid snagging or damage. Awesome washer. 😄

    I recently bought and Insignia 1.6 cu ft. tub portable washer. It does the job and I like it, and in the notes and description it said it had an agitator. But, it actually has a pulsator, with a very tiny agitator shaped paddle on the bottom of the tub. I am thinking of doing a review on the machine and how to use it. But I have to say, I’m probably a little bit on the jealous side that you have this Danby with this wonderful agitator. That’s what I wanted. But, they do not make portable machines with those anymore, that I’m aware. If there’s one out there that would be currently being made, I don’t know where it is. Unfortunately, Danby made a poor decision by not keep making these washers because they would probably sell lots of them.

    • @VacTech1
      @VacTech1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree, I think it's a shame they stopped selling them. I do prefer this over the pulsator (high efficiency) models, but sadly even most full-size top load machines use that same style.

      The agitator is an absolute must!! S adly you are right, they don't make portable machines with agitators anymore. These water saving machines simply don't clean properly!! I just saw an Amana washer with agitator but it's full size. I'm wondering if It's possible to turn it into a portable. I'll call a plumber tomorrow. This Amana is quite reasonable price wise
