thankyou for the clarification, even the Porsche manual negates to mention the 300 degrees for bank 2 in some iterations of the literature.

Finally!!!!!! a comprehensive procedure that clarifies all the messy info out there. Thank you!! I would like to ask if you can show how the wooden camshaft braces were made, and how many were needed. Thanks again!!!

I struggled to find the info all in the same place and some procedures were missing entirely. I had to guess some of the steps but got there in the end. I thought that this needs documenting as I was timing it up, it took longer due to this but it is a good resource for everyone now.

@@infrasilver And you're awesome for taking the time to do it!! Thank you! Regarding the wooden braces, did you find that they were needed? and how precise do they have to be? My engine is sitting straight, same as in the car, with no possibility of changing the position. Do you advise making more than one brace? Thanks again

@@tarekchbeir8299 I made 4 wooden braces so it would replicate the cam cover being on when I spun the engine, make sure they are clean from wood shavings when installing and I just oiled them to lube them and catch anything that may have come off the wood. If you don't hold the cams down it can strain them as the cam lobes push down on the tappets, I did have one camshaft snap a while ago, that's when I found out they are hollow and quite fragile.

@@infrasilver Thank you very much for the reply. In hindsight, I should have purchased the correct braces, but thought I'd save time and make them myself, and that's turning out to be time consuming. But now that I'm committed, I'm making mine out of strong plastic (delrin (?)) due to to concerns with wood shavings. Thanks again for your engagement on the topic.

Great Video. Just offhand, do you remember the torque for the 4 cam bolts? I will look it up, but with so much conflicting information it would be nice to see the same spec repeated by you as you've obviously got a handle on this. T-Y.
