2022 Sinnis Terrain 125 T125 on and off-road review - a bargain adventure bike?

  • The Sinnis Terrain 125 (or T125) is a smidge over £3,000, a gnat's femur over 12hp and one of the most straightforward, honest-to-goodness motorbikes you can buy. It's an adventure-styled 125cc learner-legal bike, but is it any good? Does it suit a tall rider? Can it hit 60mph? What's it like off-road? All this and more will be answered… if you watch this video.

Great review Tim. Well done. I have owned two of these - the air-cooled version and the water cooled version. Both are great. It is so easy for these bikes to be unfairly dismissed because they are a 125. Even if you own a large capacity adventure bike, these little bikes are great FUN to ride rather than thrilling. Your review recognises this well shows that if you give one a go you might be surprised at how much you enjoy it. The little back roads of Wales are it's natural habitat. Cheers, Phil.

A nice little budget 125 for those that want a bit of light off roading. Of course, in an ideal world, Honda would bring back the amazing Varadero 125.

What a great looking little bike honestly. There's a balance i feel in power for trail riding. Too much and you just launch into everything, too little and you bog on the hills. Great looking trail Rodie!

I watched another reveiw where a 6ft 3in biker weighing 20 stone road around Britain and over 2000 miles in 72hrs on one of these, but was able to get up to 70mph so maybe your bike needs a bit more miles to run in. Great reveiw thanks.

I watched this as I’m considering a Sinnis for commuting. Imagine my surprise when you actually rode a good chunk of my daily route! Great video, cheers. 14:20

My friend's son brought his over the other day and I was very impressed. I'll see how the cash goes but it may be the ideal replacement for my 2005 CBF250. My commute is only 4 miles each way and with panniers to put some gear in as well it could be a wise move. Thank you for the review 👌

I’ve been looking at getting my first bike at 38, and I think you’ve just helped me make the right decision. Great video!

Greetings from Thailand, sorry to inform you, these motorcycles are not designed by Sinnis, they are a Zongshen Ryuka motorcycle from China, they are sold in various countries under different names, for example, in the United States of America, they are sold under the name of CSC, here in Thailand we have a factory which assembles these machines along with others, they are sold under the name Ryuka here, the RX1 (200cc) and RX3 (250cc), thank you for your good honest review of the machine

Obtained my road licence on a Suzuki FXR150, which from memory had 18bhp and wet mass of 135kg - and it was great fun but so slow above 80kph (50mph) to feel pretty vulnerable at open road speed limits. Amazing this bike at 13bhp and 160kg can get out of its own way, but seems to do an admirable job.

Yeah, it definitely slows down significantly at 45mph, your Suzuki sounds like a relative rocketship…

Brilliant video Tim, even though it's about a cheap chinese 125. My first bike was a Sinnis some years ago, never missed a beat the 3 years I've had it, I still miss it and regret selling it after so long.

I'm looking at this and the gpx. As tempting as another sport bike is, this just looks comfortable and easy to use what should I choose?

To me, all you need for green laning is a 125. Much more fun than constantly worrying about dropping and getting stuck underneath a GS or AT.

Can you do a review of the Yamaha xsr 125 ?
I jacked the car in to commute more economically on a bike and I've got to say it's been a blast, a great little bike.

Hi, thanks for reviewing this interesting bike, unfortunately not yet available in France. But I do have a question: you mention the rear brake (pedal) also operates the front brake (for it has CBS). OR does the front brake handle also operate the rear disc? Which is it? Anyone? It seems all CBS systems are similar, but I don't know? Thnx Bastiaan

Dixing. Personally I think this is the best 125 money can buy. She can handle a lot more off road than that, I'm currently editing a video of me green laning almost at the limit on the terrain. Great review 👍

These Chinese bikes have come a long way from their cheap, unreliable roots.
