In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens th-cam.com/users/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

I'm looking at the same brand but in the 9in model. I have the same exact boat so I was glad to see what it looks like on that side. Like you said there is no place to put a fish finder. That is where the fish finder is now that comes on the boat when you purchase it. Thanks for the review on your Garmin.

I'm not sure you want to mount electronics (even when they re rated as "waterpoof") at such an exposed spot. I'd mount it behind the windbreaker of the cockpit.
+C_R_O_M__________ i wouldve mounted it more center but unfortunately my console has no place to mount a graph there. You might be able to see what im talking about better in my install video. Thankfully its easy to disconnect so i can remove the graph when travelling. Thanks for watching!

I have the same unit and sometimes my unit freezes up and no buttons work so I have to in plug it and re plug it to get it to work again .... any thoughts ?

What version of map software are you using to show that railroad bed?
Do you have to have a separate SD card for every lake? Will the new recording of a lake transcribe onto the old lake map that was pre-loaded onto the unit even with the SD card removed?
+Derek Christie apparently one 32gb card will hold a lot of lakes. So only one card is needed as long as your unit already has lakemaps on it. Also, im pretty sure nee recordings will go over top of the preloaded maps so you can have a more accurate topo view. Unfortunately i havent had my boat out enough to give the quickdraw a better test.

I got the 64cv. When you install it do you have to be on a lake for the fishing chart? When I did it in the garage the fishing chart of lakes don't come up when i zoom in on the desired lake that I want to fish.
some lakes are not loaded onto the graph. a couple of my most frequented lakes are not on there, but fortunately you can use the write function, and graph on the lakes where you like to fish or would be interested in knowing the underwater terrain.
Love the channel. I am in the market for a Garmin. I am looking to buy two units. What is the difference between The echomap and the Echomap plus? I am looking to get a 7in screen. I was also reading that you can connect the echomap with the Garmin striker . Thanks for any advice. Keep up the great videos.

Echomap plus is touchscreen and has built in wifi.

What do you mean by casting range ring? Mine has a black line that points out in front of boat icon on my mapping. Might be able to change that to a ring idk. I do like my echomap, not complaining about it, but I like humminbird alot better especially for side scan. And from my experience in my opinion based off fishing with alot of different people, lowrance has better down scan. Garmin's mapping really does suck though. I'm sure mine needs updating but I haven't the slightest clue how to do it. Not a tech savvy person

An SD card is required to save new maps and way points and stuff. You can pick them up at any store that sells electronics. Just be sure to read the manual and make sure you get an SD card that’s the correct size.
Can navionics be used with this unit?
How good is this for a salt water fisher man?
Mason Dyer I’ve read a lot online that a lot of the depthfinders in MOST peoples price range don’t do too well because of how fast you are going. Most units up to $800 or so will start losing accuracy when you get past 16-18 mph
Have u used the Flasher mode? I have a 93SV and was curious if you used flasher sonar mode? I plan on using it for ice fishing!

The boat is running so it’s charging at 14vdc when he shuts motor off it’ll go down to around 12.7 or so.

It would show a net but may be hard to tell if thats what it was. Just depends on how the sonar reads it.
What colors do you have set for the nav screen? I can't get mine to show up like that.

Mine does side imaging. Pretty sure that one does too. Mines not touch screen though .
