It is both one of the most important chorales (it is the Our Father in German), and a form, the ornate chorale, particularly often used by most composers.
Böhm makes with this piece a masterpiece, with some atypical aspects, if we look closely, as is often the case for famous works, he approaches in certain places the ornate chorale as a recitative ; certain passages are particularly free.
