  • Hello and welcome to my series of videos entitled “Eurovision Through Time” or ETT in short. This is just one of 45 videos in the series which will cover almost all participating countries (past and present) and all of their entries. The playlist of all episodes can be found here: • Eurovision Through Tim...
We will start with reacting to all Lithuanian entries since Lithuania joined the contest. Once we reach the year 2000, I will start ranking the most recent songs, so we can compare and see how many we have in common.
Ranking all songs is kind of useless because comparing something from 1962 and 2022 makes little sense, right?
The explanation behind the color coding:
Gold - songs that are absolutely God-tier and those that I love unconditionally. Most of the time, they carry a very important and personal message and that is why I overlook any issues around them. We can say I am subjective and biased towards them and I feel no guilt because of that.
Dark Green - amazing songs that are more or less close to perfect or well-balanced/executed on stage. I have almost no objection to them and I listen to them regularly.
Light Green - good songs that I still feel positive about but I have minor criticism regarding some of their elements (vocals, lyrics, staging, performance, etc…). I still listen to them from time to time and enjoy them.
Dark Blue - songs that I find okay but I have moderate criticism of some of their elements. I don’t skip them if they come up in the playlist but I don’t play them out of the blue.
Light Blue - songs about which I don’t have a strong opinion, mostly indifferent. They are fine but they are either not my genre/style or they just don’t do anything for me. I have a major criticism of some of their elements.
Yellow - songs that I don’t like and I have major criticisms towards them. I rarely listen to them and don’t find them too good overall.
Cream - songs I don’t like at all and I hardly ever listen to them and even if I bump into them, I am likely to skip them.
Dark Red - the abyss… put simply, I don’t want to listen to them ever again.
What is your opinion on the Lithuanian entries? Who are your favorites? Drop your comments on my rankings below and let’s compare our (dis)agreements because I’m sure we have some.

Lithuania is one of my favourite countries in Eurovision, the only entries I’m not so keen on are 2004, 2008, 2009 and 2017 but their other 18 entries keep me fascinated. 😁🇱🇹

That's great to hear. I am not at the top of my list as you can see but they have had some great songs over the years and they are on the good trajectory in the last two years, never underestimate Lithuania 🇱🇹

Monica Liu actually co-wrote the 2015 entry too. I haaaate the vocals on Rain of Revolution. I really liked Sentimentai but was not sure it was going to qualify in the ESC final. I agree that Monica's personality both on and off stage did a lot of heavy lifting though. One channel has a cutest contestant for each year ....this year Monica won it hands down for me.

I didn't know that she was a part of 2015 as well, very different style there. Rain of Revolution was a risk that didn't pay off... Monica is adorable, I am indecisive between her and Subwoolfer. I know many people hate them and their song but one cannot say that they haven't played their role well

@@esc_victor08 Subwoofer won me over - I wasn't thrilled when they won MGP but the variety of Eurovision is a good thing and they were needed in a very ballad heavy year. They were fun and an 8 year old kid of a friend's sister thought they were great - it's good that everyone gets involved.

Seeing my guilty pleasure in 2001 this low hurt me a bit lol. Overall great list to be honest.
Also Sentimentai is my favourite ESC song of all time. PERIOD. (Overall performance is my 6th favourite)

Sorry but not sorry for putting it where I put it 🙈
I'm glad you like Sentimentai that much. It took me months but I fell for it as well even though I though I won't

As the Lithuanian I appreciate your opinion, as somebody with some education in music - I could say that this is a ridiculous listing. Especially to list "Happy you" in the 9th place..

While I respect and appreciate your opinion, I don't have any education in music and I never said I am listing songs by objective criteria. It just reflects how I felt about songs and that is all

Even 2020 not forgetting that year was a masterpiece 😀

I don't mind you not liking We Are the Winners apart from the Latvian pirates you don't like wacky it's fine. I do that's fine too. I'm not a big ballads fan.

Omg you can NOT rank "Happy You" over "Love or Leave" 😂... I remember really liking that entry when i saw it again 15 years later. Was different and classy for the time. Actually one of their best for me. The other one is 2022, but the NF had more vibes on the smaller stage. I dont think there were better entries in the selection.
Overall a country that i dont like too much in Eurovision, even if the song was ok theyve often made questionable aesthetic choices, like latvia

I can agree with you last statement. Lithuania rarely amazes me but there were some decent entries in the NF... i remember liking Rutq Loop (don't take my word that is how you spell it) and Moosu X ... imagine Lolita winning 😂 I wonder if we will see them coming back again

@@esc_victor08 i just like mid tempo songs with quirky synth and romantic melodies soo... She had me from the beginning.
Just wasnt feeling the whole drag shock entry vibe for 2022 because the song itself seemed like an afterthought a bit? Like, not actually something Id listen to without the performance? Also i have this averse reaction when the online fandom "stans" vaguely lgbt queer entries just because they fullfill that one requirement but arent actually that high quality. Subjective of course...

@@achnix3167 I agree with you, the criteria for such entries moves from what you hear to what you see in my opinion... some call it art, some call it iconic robbed gem, some don't call it because they don't want to see/hear it ever again 😂 the spectrum of opinions for such entries is bigger than for other, more standard entries
