I was at the Topeka Standardbred auction Saturday, 2 days ago! We breed and sell standardbred trotters but I was there to haul my Amish neighbors and one of their horses to sell. They also bought 2 yearlings that we brought home. At about the 10 minute mark you show a yearling trotting around the lot out behind the building. On Saturday, there were about 20 horses trotting around in circles while a few hundred people watched prior to the sale. Good times.
My Aunt was 13 years older than me, she got her own 1st horse when I was born, she loved her horses and life and spent decades in the 'horse world's. Went with her a couple of times to the amish auction mostly when purchasing for someone else as she knew her horses!
It is obviously okay for Amish people to be involved with standard bred horses (trotters and squaregaters), which are raced. So are they also involved in Standard Bred racing? How do they get their income?
Wanna buy a horse?
You look 10 years younger! How you doing?
I like the way you put that together with a teaser at the end. 👍

Are Amish allowed to ask non-amish people to use things for them they're not allowed to use? Is that like a weird loophole?
