      before a woman calls this racist, we always need a black guy, they bring an urban flavor to the group, and no the karate guy isn't necessarily asian. The asian guy can also be the ninja or samurai if he wants.

      i like that they show it's the patriarchy because it's being built, maintained, and governed by men. there is no conspiracy and it's not an accident. in REAL LIFE proof of work is required to wield power. whereas in barbie land, where it's all just arbitrary. this movie is a great metaphor for female solipsism vs reality.

    I love that Ken goes to real world and first thing he see's is basically a sigma, giga chad, gymbro male edit. Then he tries to join the real world but realizes it's taken steps towards equality and isn't fulfilling the true potential of patriarchy. The just goes back to Barbie Land to free the Kens and flip the script on the Barbie's.

    • @kristajohnson9173
      @kristajohnson9173 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm sorry i just completely stopped listening at sigma rofl. like wtf are you even talking about broooo. I'm so tired of people who have never taken a psychology or anthropology course in their life trying to talk about male behavior in humans like they are wolves and wolves aren't even... they're not even like that, that's not how wolves work at all, that is a complete misunderstanding of source material on wolves. Wolves are actually some of the most social and selfless wild lower mammals. Like it would way make more sense if you were talking about gorillas or some shit, one of those really sexually dimorphic misogynist aggressive apes you'd be into with this mentality. But like every ape is crazy different in this respect, even though they are closely related, it's super elastic. I mean look at bonobos for god's sake, who knows what the fuck happened there, handjobs to say hello and shit, idek. But even with those animals, we are looking at modern relatives that are nothing like the thing that was most related to us way back in the timeline, and they aren't a good comp either. Rant over, stop trying to explain human behavior with animals, its dumb.

    I worked as a PA for this day on set. 14 freaking hours lol. I'm upset they cut so much from this sequence, I watched Ryan Gosling take a step back full alert when the double doors automatically opened in front of him and he was walking around an outdoor restaurant spilling everyone's drinks because he couldn't believe there was actually liquid in them (similar to Margot spilling water on herself in the Mattel scene) and him playing with the man's mustache when he first met him. The dance only happens in Ken's mind, when the song ends they show all the kens on the beach with their beach clothing, so that dance was a total dilusional experience the kens were having. Weird.

    It's so good to be a man. Who cares if obtaining sex is so difficult (sex is nice but overlooked, it's just like every other physical pleasure - it does not last). We rule the world, we build it, and male friendship is great, and FREE.
    The love of the right woman can come or not, either way living as a free man in this world is wonderful.
