Michael Cera is honestly one of the most essential actors of this century. Juno and Barbie would not have been effective without him. I’m not a Scott Pillgram fan, but I assume he would be difficult to recast. He has an innocence and vulnerability that cannot be replicated.

Because of this, I was invited to hang out with dudes who would call themselves “alpha males”, liked to workout, and would go out to the clubs/bars to pick up chicks. I would feel like Allan whenever I hung out with these guys. I was more interested in anime, drawing, movies, video games, and being on the internet outside of the working out, eating healthy, and being in the military. Not that my interests were “better” than theirs. What I enjoyed and preferred didn’t really align with their interests of bagging babes, focusing on lifting weights for a nice body, and being a badass. Years later I realized we weren’t really THAT close of friends. We were cool but it was a situation I tolerated because they invited me to hang out with them, and they were the friends I had in the military However, none really had an interest in what I was interested or what I had to say. They weren’t evil or bad people, but some things just didn’t vibe with me. We just were different. I got older and grew into my own person who doesn’t use the term “alpha males” or wants to bang chicks every time I go out.
