    That was just great,, you may need to fix a metallic plate around the shaft of agitator, when foam goes up to the surface, the plate will push it outwards

    Liked, shared and commenting. That kitchen reminds me of mine. If mine was cleaner lol. Lost my wife a couple years ago n the kitchen evolved into a shop. I have a wood splitter, a tabletop grinder (to send Sparks into the dog hair along the walls), and a table saw. Lol.

    If fine gold particles are freed after roasting, and can be seen easily,, do we need a collector to float them or just oil and oxygen while agitating??

    whats the rate of recovery for this process you are using mate? i know someone who does this commercially for a mine in south Australia but they are reluctant to share the entire process with me. I have some rich ore that im trying to process and trying to avoid the likes of cyanide or mercurcy. After this process did you simply do a melt with borax ?

    So the gold will remain in the top pan B-cuz it's heavier, or are you agitating the water with the surfactant so have the recoverable's rise to be skim it off? One of those nets used for collecting fish from aquariums might work sufficiently for you.

    • @GrooberNedJardine
      @GrooberNedJardine  5 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The collector or reagent is Sodium Ethyle Xanthate ,preferred for pyrite ores , if you live in Australia you can't buy it unless your a mining corporation , it's highly volatile , I make my own , also the frother is pine oil ,but rather expensive ,and not so easy to find in large quantities ,so I use Pine Tarsol readily available from a chemist , I hope that helps you out ,

      G'day Danny , mainly floating sulfide minerals ,Pyrites etc , what came out of these experiments was ten different samples which i had for over a year , and i threw them in with a roast i did , and that was later smelted with other sulfides i'.d crushed and roasted , the Chemical combinations are very involved and complicated to explain , but the collecting re agent was sodium ethyl xanthate , and there is dozens of different re agents you can use , but the sodium ethyl xanthate is supposed to be best on floating pyrite ore . That is the collector , then i add a frother ,which is pine oil , but i use PineTarsol , acquired from any chemist shop , hope that answers a few questions for you , cheers ,and thanks for watching .

      formerlyuser123, Gday , i live in NSW right near the Qld border , and believe it or not i haven't found the time to leach out any of the samples i floated yet , i have done over 10 sample bags , i have other crushed and roasted ore still sitting in buckets , lol , just don't get the time with work commitments , but i have viewed the samples i have under microscope and they appear to have gold in them ,but until i leach and test still can't be certain if the values are worth pursuing or not , it's just a hobby i undertook when i can't get out in the creeks for some shiny, i have a trip planned for tomorrow actually , yeah i was gonna say send em off to be assayed ,but here in OZ I don't think anyone in this country even does it ,unlike in the USA , maybe look into smelting some then tip in a conical graphite crucible to see if you get a button , i hope to do some in future ,still putting together a mini furnace , but i have a MI Micro 60X Magnification battery operated jewelers loop with inbuilt light ,they are awesome for magnifying ,makes grains of sand as big as boulders ,check em out ,might help identifying something in your ore ,sorry i couldn't be of more help , cheers mate.

      @@formerlyuser123 Yeah good luck , and just by the way , what i do with my cons from panning , i bring it all home ,i don't process anything out in the field , because i know there's a lot of micro fine gold in the cons , so when i get home i just throw about a handful or so of Borax in the bucket with a bit of water, and leave it about a week,i shake it up everyday before i finally pan it out , it seems to expose the more micro gold in the black sand , but that's just my preference ,it seems to work .cheers.
