Darn I forgot to mention that yes, it was possible for me to post every day because the paintings I've been doing are small and generally take between 45min - 3 hours (I'd say usually 1.5 hours) to complete. I've seen some artists post progress pictures if they take longer to paint something, but the early process pictures probably won't perform as well.
Bonus, if you have a fulltime job and work 5-6 days a week :P And a family. And a dog. And... (you get the idea lol). I am at a point, where I am just happy to finish a drawing and then actually post it... eventually ^^

If your still struggling, try and upload at least once every 1-2 weeks I’m working on an attack on Titan pencil drawing and I’ve been working on it for like 4 days, it’s okay not to upload everyday you can still grow by posting really good drawings every 2 weeks
I’m a masters biomedical technology student. I do freelance digital illustrations and traditional oil paintings. It really depends on your will and your want to put an effort into making art. Because I enjoy doing both.
I feel like part of the reason you're doing well in terms of growing your account details is simply your talent. Yes, I believe all the things you mentioned matter too but if your work was 'pants' I imagine it wouldn't have grown in the same way. You have awesome talent and dedication. There are gifted people that’s been painting sence a baby like me sence the 90s that taught them selfs to do paint and do art that young. There are people that’s born with a disability too like me that people just ignore just to be mean telling us we not a artist or self taught artist because they don’t like his my art is very special and unique because we never went to art class , school ,and college which most of us don’t believe in school and learning by ungifted / non creative ignorant jealous teachers and had a reason why we don’t go to college which I don’t believe in going to cruel people to teach me which I don’t need sence I was a baby and had reason why I don’t go to college too that struggles academically. A lot of cruel people out their and there are people that learn things by other and some just go to college to to attack people like me . They want to make us feel bad about our selfs or what we born with .All I wanted is to get recognition and tell my story even through my art and what I see and hear and how angry or happy and what is SCARRY going on with the world like the climate change we having that we might go back to dinosaur world or something worse sence I just express how I feel , feel creative , and imagine . I’m still struggling to get recognition on all my social medias .I get are scammers and some scammers are nft collectors. Their not just only talented people out their , their are self taught gifted and gifted self taught disabled artist as well and we just want to be heard . Being self taught artist or disabled self taught artist in the cruel evil judgement world is not easy .

Thank you for sharing! This actually makes a lot of sense. From your tips I realized I’m not posting regularly and when I post I tend to expose all about a particular Art on the same post. I start posting the WIP on stories, and divide the final process into 4 parts: the finished art as a single image, a 30 second time lapse video as a second post, a step by step process latter on and a longer time lapse on IGTV. I’ll also try to stick to a same format so it gets more predictable. That, allied with constant drawing should do the trick, I guess. Once again, thank you for sharing!
My style in so inconsistent but thats just the kind of artist i am, I've accepted that I can't 'adapt' my style to excel on instagram cause it will make me feel really bad (I've tried this multiple times and regretted it as it felt in genuine)...... thanks for sharing though, some tips i'll definitely take! :-) x
This was helpful :) As someone who takes awhile to make art I don’t know if I could post everyday, but uploading videos sounds like a good idea to get more content. I use procreate and it has an auto time lapse feature so its not a lot of work just slight editing :D

This is so helpful, I just opened my art Instagram since I was using my personal account to post my art and it was really confusing for my new followers.. like one day they will see a new painting and later a picture with my boyfriend 😅 However, I know face the challenge of starting again and it is HARD!!
I agree also with the random stuff, I started doing noise blockers and then music and then quotes. We all learn alone the way, the real way to do it is cooperation not competition ❤️

I used to get nearly 200 likes now I only get 40. I am not shadowbanned. I know likes aren't everything but it honestly feels like screaming into a void.
