I love these tips. Another one I could add is having a backlog of art to post during those weeks you aren't feeling creative or just need some time off and you can still satisfy the algorithm.
I think it’s worth noting that pngs don’t post well on Instagram; they will get chunky. As for canvas size, please remember that dpi is dots/pixels per inch folks. The pixel size of the canvas will be the same in every dpi, but dpi helps to translate resolution for print. So for an 8x10in print, you want the canvas to be at least 2400x3000 pixels (300 pixels per inch). A 2400x3000p canvas is that size at 72, 100, 300 dpi. If you have a 400x500p canvas at 500dpi, it will still be a small canvas. I’ve seen this be misunderstood by a lot of people so I wanted to point this out.
What's a good canvas size for ibis Paint on a phone? When I use large canvas sizes, it makes my pen super slow and it's kind of impossible to draw that way... :"3
Annabelle, thank you so much for such great tips. I'm now beginning my art journey (at 67 years old) after so many years of life getting in the way and these great tips are so valuable for so many up and coming artists (such as myself--lol). Again, thank you!♥
Thank you for these tips. I am not drawing digitally, but I have just started trying to get my works out to the public for possible sale. I have never used social media before so I am working my way into this arena. These tips will come in handy I am sure.
i watched without skipping to the end. You are so well spoken, organized, pretty, and a wonderful artist to boot. Loved your editing too, thank you for these helpful tips!
Do you change your dpi before posting to Instagram ? It says that Instagram prefers a dpi of 72 - I also draw my art with 400 dpi …. should I reduce it afterwards for Instagram ? 💙I’d be so thankful for your help
OMG, u are so cute and beautiful, u always reflect this glow in your drawings too✨🖤 thank you for this video, I ll keep in mind all these tips. Please make more illustrations with drawing process🖤
Thanks Annabelle, I am preparing for Inktober and this was incredibly helpful. Although I am not concerned as much about fulfilling the posting requirements, I was curious about how to do that in the best way.
the first step does not work well and might make you post a single piece per year if you're a perfectionist. Please know the time to stop doing touch-ups and actually post. If you're perfectionist, sometimes posting sketches and WIPS every now and then might help with having more posts per week (so your social media is more active) and with more posts come more engagement. Be creative with the ways to incorporate your sketches into the general look/aesthetic of your account, like editing the photo, changing the color of the sketch lines to more interesting ones, etc
Great video! I'm still unsure however whether some sort of tag/signature/watermark should be always part of the artwork itself like when you will be uploading them to Print on Demand sites like Threadless and Spoonflower? I do see some digital art on Instagram that looks like the artist has placed a digital signature in front of the work. Can anyone help clarify about this?
You definitely should NOT be putting a watermark on the artwork you upload to actually apply to apparel. Putting it in the mockup/thumbnail art is ok, but again like she said, only so long as it doesn’t detract from the artwork itself.
But I draw everything on paper, I wonder how I can add a watermark as I don’t really wanna sign my drawings.. and mainly, I don’t know how to take good pictures of them to post
I did a drawing of nezuko from demon slayer and this TH-camr believes I first traced or printed the drawing or it came from a coloring book. Now he believes im a fake artist.
Oh no!!! I have had this happen to me too!! I believe you should take the exchange you experienced as a compliment and keep going!! You must have a good eye and hand to be able to transfer a drawing so perfectly. Keep going! And maybe consider filming your future drawings for proof. Good luck in all of your future endeavors! and have a beautiful day!
Nope. It’s not healthy to “hate” your work. There’s a big difference between hating your creations and accepting that they could be better. There’s nothing wrong with the latter, but any artist that HATES their work shouldn’t be an artist, they should find something else that makes them happier.

Invest in a custom ink stamp you can use over and over when you finish a piece.

Your accent sounds Australian, US American and London English at the same time.. It is really confusing for my brain ... ;')
Ur talking too much..
then move on ☺️
Well, since we're starting an art portfolio on social media, she should explain every tip she had so you could understand. I don't really mind it tbh
wow that's informative. Thnaks
I disagree, i think lowest dpi, res and using JPEG instead of PNG is helpful for preventing people from stealing your art works!
But then she mentioned to add watermark on the artwork
@namona21 Watermarks can be easily removed unless they are the type that ruins the image. Don't give out high resolution for free.
I love the production in this video! Your videos are always so fun to watch, and it’s clear how much work you put into them✨🤍
