- Thorpe Park have been investing in their park a lot more this year, including the addition of Hyperia, the UK's new tallest and fastest rollercoaster, and further painting and refurbishing areas and rides. What's stopping them from making an RMC or a Mack rides spinning rollercoaster in future?? Join me as i discuss whats next for the park!

@TheSpazDevil The reason why I made that comment is not because the ride is bad. It's because not only did Hyperia have a near 1 month breakdown after opening because of a broken chain lift, but it rolled back once during testing and it once got stuck at the chain lift for one hour and yes I know that the issues have been sorted but if Thorpe Park made a ride that would cost 18 million pounds, I wouldn't expect it to roll back after trying to go through an inversion which I don’t think anyone still has come up a name for.

Next for thorpe park is to remove flying fish and replace it with a flat ride. Totally great idea 👍😅
We need a gerstlauer sky fly by Slammer, an intamin blitz coaster like taron but indoor inside walking dead, a mack xtreme spinner in them two spots next to the dome and a rmc behind swarm island and u have one of the best theme parks in the world. And a flying fish two on the sight of collosus, the power of ten laps

Agreed on the Colossus bit
the problem with the island behind Swarm is that it is getting closer to the residences over the back of thorpe and the noise impact might stop them from putting an RMC in place, they should consider another indoor coaster (think Guardians at EPCOT) to keep noise to a minimum - I'd be surprised if they removed the cabins without replacing them with a proper hotel like Chessington/Legoland have in situ, although that could be a club 18-30 hellhole of a hotel with Thorpe's age demographic
I think there's a 40m or 50m height limit there, not sure if anyone can confirm
Thorpe Park desperately needs an RMC hybrid of some sort. Maybe a golden painted one behind Hyperia in fearless Valley. I swear there’s a little more space 😂
@@all-caps3927that is actually a good idea, get a new family coaster there and a couple flat rides, only coaster advertised for families there is flying fish, would be good to get a new one a bit bigger than flying fish there, and maybe add actual theming this time

The island next to swarm is a perfect place to build a new coaster! I still think an rmc hybrid will be in that plot of land. I even made a concept design in planet coaster if an rmc came to thorpe park
I don't think colossus will be removed too soon as they've just re-tracked parts of it and there are other places that new coasters can be built. I think they should continue its improvements by giving it new trains.
Colossus has so many clones around the world it might just be time to remove it and add a new inversion focused coaster. Maybe an RMC Raptor? Maybe a B & M of sorts.

If they hadn't literally just done a re-paint of Colossus I would say that it's time for it to be retired. It's not been a good experience for a LONG time.
It would be really sad to see it go, but I'd rather have something brand new than see it retracked.
From what I've heard, RMC was actually in the running for the project that is now Hyperia, but they didn't go with them because they wouldn't get the environmental permission to build it, because the dense structure would be too noticeable in the skyline (which is also why Hyperia has that weird 2-colour design)

Mini B&M hyper (i.e. Goliath @ La Ronde) on Swarm Island and the access track behind. The park needs another capacity monster and some floater airtime.
I think once Stealth kicks the bucket, they will reuse the station and the rapids area to create a modern multi-launch ride
It would make a change removing the slides and beach, does seem kind of odd as it's the first thing you see at a theme park...a beach 😂
If they did both the RMC and Mack Extreme spinner, Thorpe Park could become one of the parks with the best ride line ups in Europe, and maybe the world at a stretch, if they are both top 10s
I think Thorpe Park wouldn't get an RMC because if Hyperia would be the UK's most weightless rollercoaster, then I don't see them one- upping themselves for no reason. Also, the RMC may have a better layout then Hyperia which would be kinda sad. I think that a wooden coaster would work well at Thorpe Park focusing on airtime, and Thorpe park could be home to the UK's tallest and fastest wooden and steel coasters. Also, if Thorpe Park got Hyperia for their 45th birthday, then I would love to see a new hotel for their 50th. I think a new flat ride where Slammer was would come before a new roller coaster
Completely agree! I think if thorpe gets a new coaster, it will be a smaller ride, so hyperia stays in the spotlight
I've said for ages that the Saw: Alive space is big enough for something like a Sky Rocket model. All they have to do is expand the land out slightly into the lake and there's more than enough space!

Yesss, i would defo love a mack rides extreme spinning coster like ride to happiness in this country. Ride to happiness is my favourite number 1 coaster atm, i am yet to ride hyperia
I honestly think it’s time for them to remove the Ghost Train and just built an RMC Raptor in its place next to Nemesis Inferno to extend that whole area of the park. Colossus could also get replaced by either a B & M diver or a Mack Extreme spinner which would be incredible in an inversion focused layout.

For the time being update the trains on colosus get the lap bars!!! Do the rest off paint 2. Then focus on the land behind swarm and get an rmc. Also a potential upgrade for saw. Keep the theme I love the fact the saw movies has a rollercoaster themed to it. Remake it and make it a mack extreme spinning coaster

also either remove Colossus or change the trains to match those on Sik and half the terrible ride experience has gone - much cheaper than removing it - personally think that the storm surge, the beach and the waterslides can all be removed asap

Walking Dead, Ghost train, Slammer and Black Mirror (Maybe even Storm Surge) is a HUGE plot of land. And until something happens with them I will continue mentioning that...
Speaking to John burton on hyperias opening day. He did say they were in talks with RMC to see what they can do for Thorpe so 👀👀👀 that’s becoming more likely
Btw Dan when I was on the saw behind the scenes tour an employee said that Colossus is not going anytime soon.
They could give the older rides a bit of love. My God the headache some of those gave me!!!!!
If Thorpe Park somehow manages to get an RMC Hybrid at the park, on swarm island or in place of colossus, it would in my opinion be the best park in the UK.
I bet they are gonna build the cross valley coaster from towers, but have a 200 meter lift hill, and then a 600 meter drop, and I meant meters
Its both an interesting & exciting future for both Thorpe Park Resort & UK with Universal GB potentially maybe going to happen? Picked out & displayed some good locations where new coaster & rides could be constructed and added? Defo could see Rumpa Rapids maybe removed, aswell Colossus or even I think Nemesis Inferno, nah never lol? Aswell whole of Amity beach & Depth Charge. Could see RMC Coaster maybe going in there? Immersive theming? Or a Vekoma Flying Coaster like Fly in that area or at back behind Swarm? Or an RMC? I hope we get a upgraded Rapids in where Rapids are now, with a new layout, immersive theming and a ride where you actually get soaked on it would be nice especially as it can get quite hot up that area in the summer as it did for both myself and my friend on our visit, Luckily Tidal Wave cooled us down. As much as it would probs upset alot of people, I think an original travelling come army recruit zombie experience would be an epic addition here? Where X No Way Out Is & Ghost Train, make it into one big theatre shooting attraction where you maybe travel in by train as recruits to shoot & survive? Aswell out get train out as evacuation & rescue. With a city overrun by zombies & you recruits entering different areas to shoot zombies that threaten to turn all who enter? With a few surprises along the way, thats something I would love to see? Maybe if not? Something like that could be a story around Swarm as a sequel? That would be epic addition I think? But I think it will be a new coaster, most likely an RMC Steel Coaster? As there is a demand for it, unless Universal GB happens & they build one in UK first? Or another park & resort? But nice video, enjoyed & look forward to seeing more speculation videos in future. 😀👍
Tbf i wouldn’t miss colossus 😂 every time I sit in those seats it’s either my head hurts or I can’t feel my legs 😂
Push your upper body and head forward, and brace firmly. Feels a bit weird but it does wonders for some rougher rides. You can see outside of the restraints better and get banged about less if at all.
Colossus grew on me last time I went and tried this. I still find the 5 heartline rolls repetitive and cheap but some of the earlier elements are fast and forceful.
Don’t know why but front row colossus rides are genuinely top 4 rides at the park. Sitting at the back is hell but the front is so fun.
I would like to see a classic top spin ride like ramases revenge at thorpe park
I went today for the 1st time and omg it was great, except the queue times ofc but that's a standard at theme parks. Got to ride Hyperia twice
Replace colossus with a vekoma tilt with an equal number of inversions if the inversion count is important to anyone. Didferent enough from the rmc style of hyperia.
I’ve always said that colossus needs to be removed however I do think we need at least one or two more coasters before that happens for capacity reasons however to replace colossus I would love to see an RMC raptor

I'd like to see a proper wooden roller coaster (not a RMC). A bigger version of Wickerman. Or like one of those at Holiday World eg The Legend or even The Voyage.
Thorpe could prob manoeuvre some stuff around to make way for an way to add a new ride behind the swarm
Hyperia needs a new flat near it to help with capacity etc in the area in the next year. I doubt we will see a new coaster until 2027 at the very earliest which i think it will be a family thrill coaster, possibly themed with an original ip and use and off the shelf model to help costs.
Id love to see either a Mack Rides Spinning Coaster or B&M Dive Coaster at Thorpe Park or maybe a Flying Coaster wether it be B&M or Vekoma like the one at Phantasiland!
Exactly, an Extreme spinner like Ride to Happiness doesn’t even have to be tall at all, it just has to be inversion focused and have a great layout. Hence, a Mack extreme spinner to replace Colossus would he incredible in my opinion. A B & M dive coaster would also be ideal for that area of Thorpe where Colossus is but I’d rather prefer something unique (we already have oblivion in the Uk). A flying coaster would also be very welcome as Galatica is on its last legs at Alton towers, maybe one next to nemesis inferno if they remove the ghost train which they should to be honest.
Single rail rmc will fit perfectly where depth charge is 👀👀👀👀

I rode Hyperia today! I feel a slightly smaller ride with a longer layout that is more intense with ejector airtime

I get why people want an RMC but like you said in the video, Hyperia already offers much of the weird stalls, outerbanks and crazy ejector people live RMCs for. Thorpe does still need a wooden coaster, but they could also do with a more traditional airtime machine that isn't filled with inversions. For me, a GCI would absolutely fill the most gaps in Thorpe's lineup and they could easily go for another UK's tallest and fastest record if they build 100% wood. That wooden structure looming in the skyline behind the swarm would look incredible.
Also would TWD really be missed? maybe if it was still the ravecoaster but it's kinda a mess rn. Knock it, Storm Surge, Colossus and Saw Alive down and suddenly you have a massive area to build something great. Big new area with a Mack Xtreme Spinner or a Vekoma tilt coaster, an extra smaller coaster, a few flats and a new water ride. Still replace rumba with the new rapids like you suggested but I think they also need a modern flume. They're crowd pleasers that can appease thrill seekers and give them a more varied selection of rides, but they can also appeal to a broader audience.
You gotta have something for those who aren't super eager thrill seekers, bc if you can encourage them to tag along, you get bigger group sizes, which means more ticket sales and more spending on stuff like food and merch.
Also, if they're gonna replace the beach with anything it should be part of a new park entrance. The Dome and the area surrounding it just don't give the best first impression, and the paths leaving the area feel way too narrow and winding. Open up that entire area so you get a better view of the skyline from the park's entrance.
Imagine a intimin multi launch similar to velocicoicoaster and tarron behind swarm???

I think merlin might be a bit cautious to work with mack after hyperias problems cause they stopped working with gerstlaurer after smiler had a delayed opening
Because Gertslauer don’t really offer anything else besides their eurofighters that are of interest to Merlin and they already have 1 of each at both parks so that wouldn’t make sense. Mack only made 1 mistake with the lift hill and still have an extreme spinner to offer which is exactly what Thorpe Park needs to really stand lit

Ok so apparently some guy in your discord server TCE asked John burton about hyperia and they said that RMC was the first one Thorpe went to but they don’t have a uk license and the support structure being so dense would mean that it will struggle to get approved

I know it's never going to happen unless Merlin suddenly decide to spend a bejillion pounds but the ultimate, dream change for the future at Thorpe Park would be to remove all the rides in the centre of the park and replace them with a massive world beating project.
Walking Dead, Ghost Train, Slammer, Black Mirror, Storm Surge- get rid of them all and redo the entire area!
The park badly needed new investment and major refurbishment as back in 2020 the park was very run down and filthy even during the pandemic. I went again this year and the turnaround is excellent and the park is now better than Alton Towers.
I can see them removing SAW (or retheming it) to make way for another Greek-themed ride since its between Colossus and Hyperia + SAW is pretty rough as of recent (so has colossus tbf) but i doubt they would remove Colossus since they recently did a slight retrack + repaint of the area, might get a full retrack maybe purely due to its 'classic' status
I doubt it will be removed beacuse of the building and the price of it

As far as Colossus goes, I don't think the ride itself is an issue BUT, what they DESPERATELY need to do if Colossus is staying for more than another 2 or 3 years is replace those bloody trains! The ride itself, with maybe a little bit of retracking, is fine. The problem with Colossus and why it rides so terribly these days is those trains. The seats and restraints are bloody awful.
It doesn't ride as badly as SAW, which is completely unforgivable and I'm now done with forever, but it's getting close!

Uf they did put in a ride like zadra it would be a complete copy of energylandia. Best theme park for me especially in 2024. But it has Hyperion which is pretty much the same name as hyperia and then it would be like the exact same park.
