Is this game going to be the next compatitor with Microsoft flight simulator
Just updated X-Plane 12 to the latest version 06 and what a disappointment. I was under the impression 06 was to take care of lighting issues, The instrument panel is so dark on the Cessna 172 it's unusable. Talk about flying in the dark on a VFR day. Ever try changing the comm frequency from standby to active, it doesn't work. I've been waiting for the past 9 months for these issues to be corrected. A BIG disappointment Mr Myer.

I have supported X Plane from its very first release, based on the best flight model available, along with many other aspects X Plane offers, and after just purchasing the version 12, I must say its most impressive, and the most impressive to me is the new ATC feature, one place X Plane has trailed behind on the other sim brands products, so am very happy to see that feature included for those of us that has no desire to fly multiplayer, having that immersion speaks volumes to me, looking forward to seeing how much that aspect may evolve over time, with X-Plane.
X-Plane is alive and well! Outstanding work Laminar team.

I think you’d have to have millions of Terabytes worth of data, for that to become a reality. Consoles will hold PCs up for probably the next couple of generations to get anywhere near like perfect off-line maps.
Don’t get me wrong: I’m hoping I’m still around to see that, but they can obviously make more money by drip-drip releasing it, over time.

@@googIesux I agree that offline play is most important to me, which sucks because it's not true offline capable. After about 2 weeks of no connection it will require you to connect to the internet to validate your serial key. If you don't connect then you will be locked to the demo until you have internet connection again.
This isn't really a problem for most people, but it makes the doomer in me worried about if they decide to shut off the validation servers some day.

They announced VR support, but as of right now it’s unusable.
@@briank3754 It's currently PCVR useable for me with both my Vive Pro and Quest 2 (and new Quest Pro) using a i9/9900k/rtx3090/32gb ram PC. So, maybe don't pronounce it as overall PCVR unusable for all. Also, please don't tell me that many others are also having this problem because that gets a bit old, lol!
Just needs some performance improvements and some graphics fixes (like clouds and scenery).
If it's unusable for you then you (and anyone with this same problem) should file a bug report, if you haven't already done so. Thanks and Cheers.

I mean there are already so many problems to receive high quality updates for the planes (11 -> 12), especially the high fidelity ones, that they are on the latest and greatest features of 12. Some won’t receive one.
Furthermore, I tested the trial version (some weeks ago) and was very suprised that the Airbus A330 had a Boeing FMC - is this fixed?
Do you know more, especially which devs will continue to do planes? As X-Plane 12 could be a great addition in the portfolio, if there are the right things which are missed in P3D or the big one.

@@ThePeperich I don't fly airliners, mainly heli's and GA. If I were you and already had xp11 then I'd just stick with that untill xp12 is out of beta. Really up to you mate. I already have gotten a number of xp12 updates for some of the heli's I fly. I'm sure more will come once xp12 is out of beta.

i am hoping the texture mistakes and the AA problems will be done in the release. it looks like some of the glitches are removed in this video which we still have in the 12b13. So far the beta is stable and the small graphical "desasters" are temporary i hope :)

Fact : X-Plane 12 is not ready for a full release in december
A huge fan of XP since XP10 but being on Beta13 and all those issues that have been addressed by the community and still haven’t been addressed yet, I am really curious how you want to make it a release version in December. It has a lot of potential but man that thing need time or development under warp speed

@@ThePeperich well everyone who buys XP12 is a beta tester at least until it’s out as stable release so I’m not more “in” than anybody else who bought XP12. My own experience is that 12 is a great step forward in comparison to 11 in terms of weather system, lightning etc. but as of now it is a beta so it there are a lot of things that have to be done/improved and I’m sure will be.
And to your question about the MCDU of the A330 : no, not yet. They are still working on it but as it was stated by LR the MCDU for the A330 should be out when XP12 will be released as a full and stable version in December. Still not sure if this timeframe isn’t to ambitious but hey they know more about the state of this sim than any of us.

You maybe know that on details as the flight computers (which are quite important as we even as home simmers know) the love and affection of a simulator product manager is easy visible for everybody; especially if you advertise the sim with this plane and its details. That is not just a visual led designed white instead of beige or a beep which should make beeeep ;)

This update and plane situation is may be even worse. The sims like P3D, X-Plane and MSFS live and die in a way with 3rd party devs and how they work together. Ini and especially PMDG will still be working with P3D (also after the coming new release to P3D v6) and MSF. So if you pay 100 €, $, £ or whatever that is on your currency, you won‘t be alone in the rain.
Sadly this is happening to many high def X-Plane 11 planes (well take the Beluga, stopped development already after selling), even the expensive ones. Plus the updates to 12, if available at all, are too often loveless (to use friendly words).
That is my real problem. You know, on a Mac or native Linux, X-Plane is a must buy and be happy with what you have. On Windows that is not so easy said, due to the high costs (at least for me, I have a family and priorities without not allowing me to have a nice virtual hobby, too).

Glad all movie has been done with Xplane12 native!! But still a lot of work to do, like fix the shadow antialiasing, the lod charging at same time and night lighting still not convinging. Anyway good planes by the way
Love it, but pleae Laminar fix the jagged lines/AA. Biggest downside for me atm, it really breaks the immersion
True. that flickering is the back is what they should solve at first. Other than that its looking very good.

Hello! Is there a way to like skip the engine startup part or like skip to takeoff since I just started aviation and don’t really know how to startup the plane, if yes then tell me how.

I've been a user since xp9. Tried the demo 12 but the most uncontrollable vr shaking. I uninstalled and didn't go back, I want to. Has the vr issue been resolved in the purchase xp12? Thank you.

You can see flickering even official trailer and it is worse in VR. You should fix that. I wonder if adding TAA would help?
IMO they need to implemente DSLL (moction vectors) at all costs. I don´t see how they can solve all the flickering with high levels of AA without some extra "help".
I don't see much difference on instruments on cockpits vs older versions, I wish they did more work on other instruments like they did with GPS , which we are capable to move it around on our multi monitors.
I’m loving the beta’s, but would highly recommend to fix the flickering & very dark cockpits before the official release. Other then that I’m totally loving xp12!

@@ThePeperich not yet, but they are working on a custom fmc for the bus. It’s in the works, so it’ll come.
In my opinion the graphics of Xplane 12 look even better than Msfs since its not oversaturated etc and the wing - flex makes up for it anyway + all the other features of this like seasonal effects, aircraft and all the study things which are always fun to play around with, great flight sim and I hope it will get many updates until we get close to xp13 which will hopefully even be better than this and maybe with Satellite scenery... but that's just something we can hope for. great work, really enjoy this new sim!
They will do, they would've done it with this game but technology wont be able to keep up with the game because there simply isn't any gaming consoles powerfull enough to run games that have graphics insanely realistic and the size of the map in game is so huge, it would really kill anyone's pc, even with the new release of 40 series GPUs, they simply still aren't powerful enough to run a game that we hope for in the future, xplane have to work along with the technology so there games have good sales, but over the next few years, decades etc... The games are only gonna get better and better and more and more realistic bcus our technology is always moving forward, so will the realism and the scenary in these game, although the scenary and phisycs in this flight sim are already almost perfect anyways.
I mean isn’t it cool that there are trains and cars driving around even police cars and stuff in xp12 not forgetting how everything (streets, houses and train tracks are roughly at the right positions) the only thing I would add to xp12 would be grass but that would come at a framerate drop
@@WaschiXtreme yeah, very true, just the slightest detail change in a high performance game can cause your frame rates to drop quite a bit, it's crazy but I can't wait to see what flight simulator games would look like in 3, 5 or even 10 years from now, they already look amazing so it's almost scary to think what these developers would be able to achieve in the future.

I am impressed with the flying model in 12. Much improved over 11 and MSFS in my opinion. This sounds daft but it feels more like I am flying and at speed. I can play wityh full detail and using my Orbx scenery and airports.

@@Mark-kh1ny I'm from the Microsoft camp and I have abandoned it for xplane... And I have played the xplanes as far back as I think it was XP9 or something in the early 00's. MSFS had such a great opportunity to make an amazing leap forward from their old simulators, and honestly they did, but when they downgraded what it could and should do for Xbox use and required online to even load the game... Xplane it is. Plus they put a fire under XP devs to finally get away from the lackluster graphics.

Might have to go back to MSFS. X-Plane is a terrific sim. It really puts you through the paces of setting up flights. Very realistic... then it crashes. The worst part about X-Plane is you can't save flights. You go through all the procedures to set up a flight, which sometimes can take hours. Then... it crashes, and you have to start all over again - from scratch. In MSFS, saving is/ or was like hitting the PAUSE button. Exiting. Come back, and pick up where you left off. X-Plane is looking more and more like junk.

MSFS needs some serious competition, but the graphics look half a decade old (please turn on anti-aliasing), the physics shown look like a cut down version of MSFS 2020s, and this music choice wasn't exactly well-thought.
MSFS wasn't perfect out of the gate, either, but the support is making it to be a near-perfect sim. Hoping this gets the same treatment.
We obviously don’t have the same definition of « near-perfect ». I have been using MSFS for the past 6 months. There are soooo many things missing. Not even a weather-radar or proper popout-panels is simulated as we are used to have in older sims since over 10 years. Without its revolutionary graphics, MSFS looks like a step back compared to what we had before.
@@frankbyte The MSFS devs openly listen to community feedback and do Q&A's regularly (they just uploaded a new one). So pretty much everything will come in due time.

Hi Ben, when I launch X-Plane in full screen mode, VSync is broken. But when I switch to desktop and back to X-Plane, VSync is fixed
I have noticed this bug with G-Sync/Freesync as well. It was like that in XP11 already, I filed a bug report last year, maybe should file a new one for XP12.
Am used to just press alt+tab twice after loading now, not a big deal... : )
will the water colors change, because in the video we saw tropical light blue water but in the sim, the water doesn't look like that all?

I think they will, if they were using orthophotos they would prob be copyrighted plus it doesn't look like oaths anyway. they have a lot in store for us, by 2025 I imagine it will be 2x better than fs2020.

This trailer was likely made at or before the current beta of this writing (Beta 13). It is shown in their release notes that they are making the custom MCDU for the default A330.

Finaly MSFS 2020 has some competition
Enjoying the XP-12 beta since it came out. Really like the airport textures, and the clouds which can be stunningly atmospheric, and the flight modelling. Great job, but keep ironing out all the issues.
Do the landmarks shown in the video come with the basic version of XPlane 12?
@@YourCountdown theres only one version of xp12, everything comes with it. but the trailer showcased w.i.p. things that are probably to come with the full release in december such as way better shorelines than the current beta.

Do you think about one day releasing it for other platforms like Playstation 5? Because that would be really cool, it would open a lot more doors, a lot more people could experience this simulator, and even maybe VR mode with PS VR2.
The PS5 is fully capable of running this simulator, and if you release it there a lot of people including me will buy it for sure! This is the best flight simulator I know and I'm dying to play it but unfortunately I don't have a PC yet.
So please this simulator would be perfect on PS5, release it there too 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

O PS5 tem total capacidade de rodar este simulador, e se vocês lançarem lá muitas pessoas incluindo eu irão comprá-lo com certeza! Este é o melhor simulador de voo que conheço e sou doido para jogar ele mas infelizmente não tenho PC ainda.

@@frankbyte good point, the thing that would get me flying xp12 is at a point where MSFS was 3 years ago. MSFS was a joke on release but it's amazing now, makes me wonder where x plane 12 will be in 3 years time.
@@simflyeruk2528 Yeah it will for sure be much stable, most bugs fixed and many addons updated. Yeah i don‘t forget how disappointed i was as MSFS got released. I used it for 2h, rage quitted and started to use it only after 18 months. And i agree that it has improved a lot.

Stunning, but I won't buy it soon. This summer I just bought X-Plane 11, just before the price went down :( so I will wait a while before buying '12'. And '11' is awesome as well!
But what for? The system requirements of XP-12 are similar to MSFS2020, and with even less detailed graphic of ground.

Start is re-make old, then make new. Otherwise syst requirements will more then msfs2020 have, and limitations will be grow with time...
@@ОлегКраснов-з3т in case you havent noticed beta 13 overhauled the cloud shapes to the point of better than fs2020. Also the mesh is good, only that you dont have simheaven and theyre working on shoreline textures.
And it has a replay mode!

O X Plane já tem sua versão mobilidade (por incrível que pareça), o que realmente falta era eles fazerem uma versão do X Plane 12 para consoles.

Installed MSFS and was absolutelly amazed by graphics but I had a feeling that I play a game and not a simulator. Felt like I fly GTA V aircrafts. I am a fan of Laminar's physics. You can actually feel an aircraft. Esp in VR. IMHO

@@frankbyte As flight simmers sitting at our desk at home, we CANNOT feel anything. There is no G-force in your seat, no feedback from the controller. All we can do is look at the screen and surmise whether that is the way a plane would behave in the real world with the given input, by using our eyes. The problem is a lot of it comes down to the hardware that you have and how that hardware is configured. 2 people flying the same plane in the same sim may come to different conclusions by using different yoke/joystick with different sensitivity curves, different travel distances.
@@ryanwright3965 Thats true that the hardware settings can make a big difference. With « feeling » i guess he meant the reaction of the plane that behaves more realistically. It wasn’t about feeling the resistance of the yoke. The effects of the atmosphere/winds/environnement aren’t that good in MSFS. That will make you feel an aircraft less realistically. Read what PMDG wrote about them having to tweak their model to compensate for that unrealistic environnement.

This is by far the best if not one of the best flight simulators.
Only issue I have with it is the lack of aftermarket support, if laminar would make high quality aircrafts and sell them I would be all over X-plane 12.
I would like an ATR, a quality 787 and well made 777 and the list goes on. The flight factor models just doesn't do it for me, in many cases you have to use mods to make the models look better.
Again, this is just my opinion. It is by far one of the best if not the best sim, but it lacks on the aircraft department.
Laminar if you start making airliners and selling them to the community, I would be all over X-plane 12.

Even with high settings msfs should have better satellite imagery that it has. Have you looked at the default tbm 930 lately it got 144p textures. Goodbye to good textures, don’t know why they degraded the cockpit textures.

@@arandomdudewhoposts sadly no, I think laminar can't afford to have accurate scenery with bing maps and stuff. Remember that they have a smaller dev team with only a fraction of the resources Microsoft has.

@@ericgu9036 Nope the MSFS engine has more to offer in terms of 'flight envelope accuracy' than XP. MSFS is still in it's early development stage and much more room is left to bring it's full potential to the end user.
In the past I've flown in both FSX and X Plane. Didn't think I'd give X Plane a look in after MSFS2020 dropped but I have to admit, this does look interesting.
Any serious flight simmer should look at this, there is room in the market for both. Looks like I might be going back to using both sims.

an REAL Flight SIM ! But yes, MSFS looks awesome !

I just use xp12 because im actually into aviation and wanna fly a plane that feels like a plane. saying that fs2020 is for teenagers is incredibly rude and discriminatory. I currently use x-plane, but if fs2020's physics continue improving and they make it as easy to use and convenient as xp12 (less crashes, plane maker and airfoil maker, easier to modify and install addons, etc.) then I would start using both.

With mods and add ons and e X-planes physics, it will definitely become the best flight simulator out there
Oh @yukko9640 does this mean without addons and mods the X-Plane 12 does not look like in the video shown, was this no real game footage - I mean were those addons, the cities or airports for examples? Such you have to buy extra?
Can you help one who tried the Early Access some weeks before - and it did not look like that, not at all. Especially the Airbus had an Boeing FMC (a big no go)

This Simulator has a place always. One day I will finish my flight around the world project. small steps. i have to find my email that has my license lol. It's been over 6 years sins i have run that on my Current system. But i never screen captured it.

It's an average, representative sample of what you might get. Not everyone has the hardware to handle everything turned to 11.

nice! just wondering why in a official trailer they didn't use the best pc with best performance and max details, the anitialiasing was quite bad, look like off... but anyway nice job
The fact that it won't come to Xbox platform is a bummer and I feel it gives MSF2020 the upper edge. Maybe one day in the future it will be a console release but I understand with a small team this can almost be impossible. Consoles nowadays are pretty much PC's that can run these games but you also have to calculate how many people would actually purchase the game on console so essentially grinding all down to the economics.
