    I am doing a 2.7 EcoBoost in a 1966 F100 4x4. Easy swap. Using the 6R80. Stock pcm.

    Let me know when you have a '97-04 F150 4x4 Coyote swap happening.

      traxiii it’s a direct bolt in.

      @@randysrestoration I know it will bolt up to my 4R70W mechanically, but I want the 6 or 10 speed and 4WD. I'm guessing the best/easiest way is to buy a wrecked donor truck and use all or most of the wiring harnesses, control boxes and the key. I know USShift/Baumann makes a stand alone 6R80 controller, that might make just dealing with the Coyote engine control and transmission separately the way to go, but I have a lot of questions regarding making the whole system work right.

      traxiii no need for a stand-alone setup the 6R80 or 10R80 will work just fine in your 4x4 using stock PCM as it does in the new truck. Yes, buying proper donor is the way to go. Much less $$ that way. I have done 2 using donors and one where FoMoCo donated the engine,transmission & transfer case. The donor one ended up costing more.
      Since I have so many projects things go slow. It took me only one day to get the wiring in and engine running. Of course it all will need to be properly routed.

      traxiii I bought a ‘18 F150 a couple months back with Gen3 Coyote 10R80 to do the swap in another truck but such minimal dmg to truck I fixed it & it’s now my daily driver. After doing a few eco swaps now driving a new 5.0 my next will be a late 3.5 eco. 5.0 is a gutless wonder under 3000 rpm. Actually pretty dead under 4000

    What if I do a mustang coyote in my truck that's a 4x4 which I would take mudding

    • @FatFenderGarage
      @FatFenderGarage  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We're doing a build right now for exactly that. You shouldn't have any problems.

    My Coyote Mustang is great, but in my 69 F100 4x4 I don't want a complex, computer driven, aluminum motor... I want a big, heavy, simple motor that you can beat with a sledge hammer, drive through a river, overheat it 4 wheelin, and doesn't require a microprocessor to run...
