I was hearing the piano version of this song and asked myself: " It's possible to play this in a guitar?". I thought "impossible" while typing the search input right before found this. Congratulations!
@@MrShagification Completely agree - I've finished the arabesque and have been working my way through Debussy's other works - Iv'e been recently reworking what's established for claire de lune, Bringing it closer to the piano. The Cathedral Piece is translating over in it's own charm
I always felt like all the piano renditions I've seen of this piece were a bit too rushed for my taste, but not this. This is my absolute favorite performance, played at the perfect pace. Thank you so much!
Claudio Arrau presents a lovely interpretation of this work on the piano. His tempo tends to be slightly slower and he gives a much different impression of the composition.
I’ve listened to this video about a hundred times in the past 24 hours. Thank you for the obvious dedication you’ve put into your talent. Your playing is a gift to the world.
@@gab_14 Guitars were invented in the 15th century, Debussy lived in the 18th-19th century. Guitars had been around for quite a while at that time, but funny joke none the less.
@@gab_14 It was called a guitar then. Even his predecessor German composer Beethoven knew the guitar, then why not Debussy, who is much closer to modern times as well as closer to Spain geographically?
It's really unbelievable that this would have about 68,000 views and the guitarist 300 subscribers. This young man has my deepest admiration and one more subscriber!
This is the best guitar arrangement of this piano piece I have heard so far (congrats to the arranger), and Mr. Yoon's performance is absolutely delightful. I am showing this video to all my guitar students, so we can all see and hear how the magic lights and colors of debussy can also shine through the guitar.
Rarely do I get the chance to say 'I've never seen anything like it before', but today I do. It's one thing to be able to play such a technical piece on guitar, but to do so and make it beautiful is just jaw-dropping. I had to stand up and applaud this. BRAVO!!!! 👏👏👏
I've just discovered that I prefer to hear a number of Debussy's pieces on guitar than on piano. Having made that discovery, I'm really enjoying these great performances here on You Tube - in this instance, my thanks to both Rene Izquierdo for the arrangment, and Yeram Yoon for this excellent performance. The piano doesn't do harmonics, but the guitar does - and the tone of a fine classical guitar seems so much better suited to some of the impressionist repertoire. My thanks also, therefore, to Mr Jeff Sigurdson for making such a lovely sounding instrument.

Actually... The longest time breath held voluntarily (male) is 24 min 3.45 secs and was achieved by Aleix Segura Vendrell (Spain), in Barcelona, Spain, on 28 February 2016. Aleix is a professional freediver. The attempt took place at the 17th Mediterranean Dive Show. Here's the video: th-cam.com/video/L89kY5ewgqU/w-d-xo.html And, the longest time a woman hold the breath underwater is 18 min 32.59 sec and was achieved by Karoline Mariechen Meyer (Brazil) at the Racer Academy swimming pool, Florianópolis, Brazil, on 10 July 2009. Karoline is a professional freediver who trained for four months to try and break the record. Prior to the attempt she inhaled oxygen for 24 minutes. But hey, you held your breath longer then me and most people can 👍

Almost anything played on a piano should be playable on guitar. It's just a matter of arranging it to work for a different instrument.

Just when I thought it couldn't be any more amazing you hit the harmonics. Stunning.
Debussy would be proud.

You can run out of superlatives for this performance. I simply say it's mesmerising. The harmonics towards the end were breathtaking.

you may also like the sound of debussy's pieces on harp too then!
For me it’s harp, even though I am an avid pianist.
