- Ben Kentish speaks to British-Israeli campaigner for hostages, Adam Ma'anit, whose cousin was taken hostage on October 7th.
Ma'anit emphasises that he's spoken to Keir Starmer and urged him to demand the hostages' release 'unconditionally and unequivocally', without tying their freedom to other issues.
He also reveals that he was advised against speaking publicly about his cousin, to avoid 'jeopardising their life' - stressing that 'these are the kinds of insane calculations we have to make all the time'.
The conversation also touches on the Israeli government's desire to bring hostages home, with Ma'anit of the belief that they 'haven't done enough'.

Under international law the 'hostages' which are soldiers are enemy combatants representing an illegal occupation. Whilst they should be treated with dignity and moral decency towards captives should be upheld this suger coating propaganda should not be allowed and objective information should be disseminated.

The hostages would have been home in less than a week if Israel had agreed to recognize the humanity of Palestinians and end their genocidal occupation and war. Israel is to blame for each and every death through their violent escalation
His Israeli prime minister doesn’t care about the Israeli hostages. He can keep hiding behind “pressure Hamas” so he can sleep at night, but the truth is Hamas offered to release all a few weeks after October 7th if Israel agrees to release the 10,000 Palestinian hostages. The moment he asked him a real question, he started to hedge and say “I’m not a master tactician…”.
