Shampoo was only created in 1930 so I’m pretty sure no poo is just fine. If you look it up sebum is anti microbial and antibacterial but hard water interferes with its performance
tried a ton of "clinically proven" anti dandruff shampoos yet they all make it worse, it's crazy how it all stopped once I tried two weeks without shampoo. weird isn't it?
@@tayluvofficial I’m doing this rn. I think that’s normal. It has to get really bad before it gets better. Your hair goes through a phase where it’s really greasy, oily, itchy, then it balances out its own oils. It takes around 4-6 weeks
@@tayluvofficialYour hair and scalp needs time to adjust. Remember, your scalp has gotten used to and adapted to the harsh oils that extracted all your natural ones which is what's causing you to flake easily. You only tried for 10 days and already giving up, you've gotten too used to instant gratification
My Grandmother had thick below thigh length hair at the age of 70 similar to all the other women in her village. She only washed her hair once a month with a bar of soap and covered her head with a silk scarf. Oddly many people these days aren t able to grow hair below their mid back despite washing their hair every 2 days with the most expensive hair care products. The truth is shampoos remove the natural oils from our scalp and replace it with chemicals that dry out our hair( also many of them contain carcinogens ) - a pharmacist
Our body knows how to heal itself and using chemicals simple erases that memory and makes it addictive to chemicals, so going without shampoo or nopoo makes it readjust on its own and know its ways, the difference may vary for different person from within 3 weeks to 2 months. "Do put on your skin what you can't put in your mouth". I read this somewhere and it really changed my mind to started nopoo.
You know the only reason that sebum builds up a shit ton is because of shampoo, right? Shampoo makes the body go in panic sebum overload mode and not using shampoo makes the body adapt to not having to do that anymore.

My hair is back to normal, it smells like natural ingredients i used for days and days, no more smelly oily scalp, it genuinely feels like a miracle.
My old friend stopped shampooing as a kid coz she didn't like to do it. She used water to wash instead. So her scalp never got stripped. And she has the healthiest hair one could ever have. And she back then was a Tom boy who played hockey and did sports. She water washed her hair daily coz she's obviously sweaty. Her hair was pristine. I lived with her and I never saw a greasy hair day. So my point is that No poo also works when your hair gets dirty too
I had so many bad experiences with western medicine and the doctors who who studied it at medical school (which is HEAVILY influenced by big pharam) that I don't believe anything a doctor says on general principle withouth researching it and using common sense. Of course she is going to tell us to use shampoo. Not using expensive, toxic, SLS and silicone containing shampoos would mean big commpanies make less money. Animals and humans were just fine for thousands of years without using modern toxic shampoos but I guess if a doctor, a big pharma influlenced expert says we need to use them, then we NEED to use them, right?
@@tiahnarodriguez3809 I tried using baking soda and water. That is not shampoo and it works. It costs nothing too. You can try using clean, spring water only as well. The notion that you need to use any kind of shampoo (most of which is toxic) is false.

Strengthens Aloe vera contains vitamins A, B12, C, and E, as well as fatty acids and amino acids, which can help strengthen hair follicles. Cools an itchy scalp Aloe vera can help with the itchiness and scaliness caused by seborrheic dermatitis. Protects from UV damage Fresh aloe vera juice can help protect hair from UV radiation, which can cause hair to lose its shine and color Of course the only negative effect will be if you are allergic to Aloe Vera, but most people are not and Aloe Vera has no other negative effects unless you are allergic of course and if you want your hair to smell good use rose water as it has really good benefits as well and a natural smell
I have a water allergy, so I avoid the shower as much as possible. Is there a good way to wash hair without water? I'm not thrilled with the cornstarch method because dust over the head means breathing dust in the air (and cleaning it off of the floor) after I take the mask off. I don't have an itchy scalp from not washing, but it is really greasy when I don't dust it with something absorbent, or take a shower (which makes me break out in hives, and does terrible things to my skin).

@@magdalena.7778 my curiosity wasn't about the experiment itself and was more about her thoughts on historical hair practices and why they may or may not have worked since she's highly educated on the science of our bodies; specifically skin and hair. I have not used schampoo for over 1 month. Im using black aleppo soap. What i do is to comb my hair daily sometimes massage the scalp with a little tea tree oil on my finger tips, and just have pacience eventually it will stop producing so much extra grease. Oh and did i mention i dont loose so much hair now when i shower. Before i lost so much hair everytime. And my hair is thicker and shiny and i dont even use conditioner.
When I stopped using shampoo my chronic dandruff disappeared. I’ve always had a good natural diet but no matter what I ate or did for my scalp my dandruff would flair up again after washing with shampoo. I’ll stick to apple cider vinegar thanks.
I have degree where i repeat things that I dont know if are true at all. But hey i said SCIENCE and have a degree so blindly follow me just like i did while getting my degree.
Of course there's no "official science" behind it, because it doesn't make doctors like her money. I had horrible split ends for a long time, no matter how much was cut off and I was listening to a certified doctor on here and she said to never put your hair up because the hair ties and bobbys would break your hair and I was always letting my hair down because of it. Then I watched a video with this lady (katherine sewing, I definitely recommend her videos) who had hair to her butt saying that you should wear your hair up with your ends tucked in so your hair is protected and I've been doing that ever since and I've seen massive improvements in my hair since. Definitely do what works for you, doctors are people too, and they don't know everything.
You say there aren't study's to show it works. Are there any study's? A single one? Who the heck would spend their valuable money to fund said study's? Unless your making a product, I find it hard to see how someone would fund a study like that.
I know someone who chose as a child to not use shampoo or conditioner at all, and just uses water...her hair literally is the healthiest and most flawless hair I've ever seen. I didn't even know until I asked what products and shampoos she uses. No poo method works. Sure, the other methods could be questionable, but you absolutely don't need a shampoo once your scalp adjusts. Or if you're like my friend who never let her scalp get stripped from shampoo to begin with
6 months of no poo here and my hairs never felt better: if the apple cider vinegar is too acid just mix it with water so it's ph lower to the point where your scalp reach its desired level; while for the dandruff it's most of the time the water of your shower which is full of minerals that build up in your scalp, so buy a shower filter and just wash them with cold water and you're done.
I recently started no shampoo it starts out bad but after a few days or week my hair was healthy and alot more texturize i wash my hair whit shampoo conditioner every 4-5days i wash the dirt with water
I’ve been no poo for years and am doing just fine. I don’t use soap of any kind. I use vinegar I make or store bought for body, scalp, & hair. People are always shocked to find out because I look and smell so good.
I have been getting itchy scalp for about 7 years, recently ive tried no shampoo, after a week it was a bit oily, but now i use warm water to clean my hair, every week i condition it.
Hahahaha I used shampoo and conditioner all the time started the no poo method and my hair isn't dry anymore all the time and it's nice and shiny and feels thicker
It works I'm a male with long great hair and like all animals i have a hygiene regimen that doesn't include man made products, i clean myself in the rain like the rain is meant to do, clean off the earth and us!👍
I am new to the no poo method but after seeing this video, I’m definitely going to stick with it. Almost every time a ‘certified medical practitioner’ says don’t do this or that for something old as time and harmless, it’s good for you and it works.
Research red onions. You can use it in your food. Juice it and drink a little each day or take a bit of juice and mix it with oil and rub it into your scalp for an oil treatment. (You will need to wash hair with a good organic cleanser). The sulfur is good for hair follicles. And yes, there is the onion smell, but figure out what works for you. If done right, it’s not an issue. And I agree, there is no need to use over the counter shampoos and conditioners, which are full of chemicals, many of which are full of chemicals that thin and damage hair, you know cause and effect. I saw a video some time ago that talked about the push to use all of these soaps and what not, were really just propaganda to push products and make money, not because it was good for you. Washing your hair every day or two is not good. Do your research. Often over washing, the foods we eat, stress, and a number of reasons could be causing problems like dandruff, or your body secreting too much oil. Give your body a rest from all of the damaging chemicals that are being used. Your body will thank you. Not a doctor of any kind. Just using common sense.

No poo is not trend. Our ancestors didn’t use shampoo for millions of years
How much did the shampoo industry pay you to say this? I haven't been using shampoo for 5 years and this is BS
What do you use to wash your hair?
How Long did it Take until your Hair wanst oily anymore ?
Nah girl. 10 days without shampoo and my scalp has a whole buildup making me itchy.. imma wash tomorrow
Yeah right, just compare the hairs..
her hair looks dry than the one who doesn't use shampoo. its all talk

She seems angry, chemicals in her hair are doing that.😂
Noo why u do her like that 😂😂
"No-poo doesn't work" ❌
"These other chemicals don't help" ✅
Y'all, just use water.
You talk about hair, but people who not using shampoo have better hair than you
Our body knows how to heal itself and using chemicals simple erases that memory and makes it addictive to chemicals, so going without shampoo or nopoo makes it readjust on its own and know its ways, the difference may vary for different person from within 3 weeks to 2 months.
Baking soda CAN be harsh-so only use it when needed (weekly or less), and ACV is practically a miracle. My hair and scalp feel fabulous.
Acv ?
@@marvin2678 apple cider vinegar. The cloudy kind, with a “mother” (Adam’s brand is one. It’ll say on the label.)
On a no shampoo trend for more than 2 years! Use me as a button if you think it works!!!
(Ps: I shower daily, don’t have a job that gets dirt/sticky stuff in my hair, good diet, avoid blow drying and not using hair products)
Has worked well for me ☺️ might actually make a YT vid about it.
I’m on month 1 of replacing shampoo with clay and rosemary water and my smelly, super oily scalp and that “bad hair day” situation that i used to live with my ENTIRE LIFE is already gone!
Non-toxic shampoo and shampoo bars exists. No where did she say that these weren’t options.
@@tiahnarodriguez3809 I tried using baking soda and water. That is not shampoo and it works. It costs nothing too. You can try using clean, spring water only as well. The notion that you need to use any kind of shampoo (most of which is toxic) is false.
I used to have super greasy day, my whole life i was in that “bad hair day” situation, it totally ruined my self esteem from my very teen up until now my young age, i used many “dermatologist approved” and advised shampoos, nothing worked, one month ago I decided to give no poo a try, so I replaced shampoo with rosemary water and clay and other herb powders to let it sit on my scalp, my long smelly scalp is gone, my dandruff is gone, my hair gained volume, I’m no longer in the “bad hair day” anymore 24/7, I’m genuinely living my miracle.
Been 6 years and no problem, try it urself
Sounds like a fed
A Fed ? 😂
This video is probably sponsored by a shampoo manufacturer 😆
Yea, I mean I even looked at her other shorts and almost on every short he shows some branded products, like there is no way she's using that or that she bought those to tell if they have good or bad stuff in it.
I did no shampoo for a couple of years and just washed it with water and brushed the oils down.. I had the smallest amount of hair fall compared to commercial shampoo. how do you think people have been cleaning their hair for centuries? Open your mind woman! Even wetting your hair at all on a regular basis has become a modern concept in the last 100 years.
This is rich coming from someone who has to depend on “The Syndicate” pharmaceutical company’s

I haven't shampooed my hair in 5 years. I use vinegar and I don't use hot water on my scalp ever. I do periodically use bar soap in the summer when I sweat a lot when running in the sun for over an hour. My scalp and hair are great.
We can see your scalp
Exactly, one of the best wisdoms for life is that don’t take advice from people that don’t have results
@@humanbeing8400Nope, genetics is small portion and if that is really true. Lack of animal nutrition, exposure to chemicals and lack of fat are the real reasons.
That is like saying, look at that lion he has Male Pattern Baldness, that is no sense
I have a head full of dandruff and heavy hair using a "scientifically proven" anti-dandruff shampoo, so what do I have to do? My twin brother washes with water and his hair is clean, light.
Respectfully disagree
Have not used shampoo for more than 1year, no dandruff, no oily hair, just healthy hair and scalp.
"There is no science", means it has not been researched yet, so it wouldn't be accurate if I make any claims about it. Yet she's over here making claims about why it might be bad for you...
This is some BS. I used to be sooo into shampoos and whatnot - never had any dermatitis or anything - and after I stopped using shampoo and putting oil on my hair instead, my hair doesn't break or shed anything like it did before. Humans did without shampoo for hundreds of thousands of years but now, we're gonna get inflammation without it?
All I know is hot water and no shampoo, my hair has never felt better.
What did people do for centuries on their hair before the invention of shampoo?
Haha jokes on you Aloe Vera is a good cleanser with natural Cleanses such as
Aloe vera can remove excess oil and residue from hair products without damaging hair strands.
Hydrates
Aloe vera can help restore the appearance of dry, dull hair.
Strengthens
Aloe vera contains vitamins A, B12, C, and E, as well as fatty acids and amino acids, which can help strengthen hair follicles.
Cools an itchy scalp
Aloe vera can help with the itchiness and scaliness caused by seborrheic dermatitis.
Protects from UV damage
Fresh aloe vera juice can help protect hair from UV radiation, which can cause hair to lose its shine and color
Of course the only negative effect will be if you are allergic to Aloe Vera, but most people are not and Aloe Vera has no other negative effects unless you are allergic of course and if you want your hair to smell good use rose water as it has really good benefits as well and a natural smell
Im using only water 1 year feeling great:)

Been on no poo for a couple of weeks after trying all sorts of shampoos for hair loss and dandruff. Just 2 weeks in and both have stopped along with my hair being fuller.
Snappy Dragon did a historical hair care video where she also went 30 days not using modern shampoos. But she talked about how people kept their hair clean instead. I'm curious what your thoughts on her experiment is.
Why don't you try it instead of asking "the gods"?
@@magdalena.7778 my curiosity wasn't about the experiment itself and was more about her thoughts on historical hair practices and why they may or may not have worked since she's highly educated on the science of our bodies; specifically skin and hair. If I wanted to do the experiment then I would, but that doesn't necessarily tell me why historical regimes work (or don't). Just like medieval people knew laying things in the sun disinfected them but didn't know why it worked (they just knew if they put things in the sun it got clean and they didn't get sick).
We are animals you see them with beautiful hair/fur and no poo needed! Same with men and beards. We all have our parts for reasons
She definetly not sayin that cuz she'd lose her job lol..
Nah but in all honesty shampoo is a scam, haven't used it for 2 months straight and my hair is so thick and fluffy, omg
I tried every type of shampoo I could find. It always dried out my hair then next morning, my hair would be an oil slick. I still wash my hair but with just water. There is no excess oil if you rinse and scrub well. Hair has never looked better.
how you scrub your scalp?
@@duingwing with your fingers. Just scratch your scalp under running water. Feels great and dislodges dead skin, dirt, and spreads natural oils down the length of your hair.

I have been no poo for about 2 months and I am loving it. I have less split ends, my hair is stronger and I am losing drastically less hair then when I was using shampoo. If you want to do it do it, I use rosemary oil as-well to promote hair growth but I would rather be doing this than putting harmful chemicals on my head. I can understand where she is coming from but I beleive this is the healthier alternative for my hair and if you don’t want to use apple cider vinegar mixed with water, use soap nuts boiled in water, works wonders. It’s all about the ratio
Do you have to use anything extra? Or can you just wash it in water?
@@ThatCrazyFanGirlyou can just wash it with water yeah, if you want to try out the soap nuts I highly recommend, leaves hair feeling clean the only difference is that it won’t lather/make bubbles so I like to use a comb that you can put liquid Into and brush through

No to shampoo ! Plus I’m saving a lot of money !
Odd ive done this for almost a year now with 3 random days i said what the hell ill use shampoo and my scalp tightens up and burns. When i dont use shampoo i just use water and a silicone scrubber for my scalp and its worked just fine.
If science is backing it up, then show some reasearch instead of blabbering pointlessly.
But who’s hair looked better🤔
Look at you hair😂
I have stopped using shampoo but I started to get a lot of dandruff and an itchy scalp but after about a week it stopped and my hair looks great!
Using shampoo is the trend, not using it is the norm
I have not used schampoo for over 1 month. Im using black aleppo soap. The grease build up that still occur is because after using shampoo for so many years the body still thinks it has ti produce that much grease to the scalp because its been renoved all the time.
Gee, I wonder how humans survived without shampoo before the mid/late 1900's
I've been following Katherine Sewing's channel and her advice with my hair growth journey...I will NEVER use shampoo and conditioner again!
Less profit for big corps is bad reeeeeeee
You say there aren't study's to show it works. Are there any study's? A single one? Who the heck would spend their valuable money to fund said study's? Unless your making a product, I find it hard to see how someone would fund a study like that.
You will say that because if everyone start to do natural things then who will come to you people.
Yeah its not being science backed which is funded by huge companies let's gooo guyssss😂😂😂
Or if you're like my friend who never let her scalp get stripped from shampoo to begin with
6 months of no poo here and my hairs never felt better:
if the apple cider vinegar is too acid just mix it with water so it's ph lower to the point where your scalp reach its desired level;
while for the dandruff it's most of the time the water of your shower which is full of minerals that build up in your scalp, so buy a shower filter and just wash them with cold water and you're done.
Curious how after over a year of using only hot water and a brush my dandruff hasn't only not gotten worse, it has actually totally disappeared
No most are just using water
Don’t trust anyone with a “Dr” behind their name.

I am new to the no poo method but after seeing this video, I’m definitely going to stick with it. Almost every time a ‘certified medical practitioner’ says don’t do this or that for something old as time and harmless, it’s good for you and it works.
I was board certified just means that she was taught lies in school and believed them.
Ooooohhhh, you're just angry! There are many who have been doing it for years and don't have any of the issues you claim. 😂
