    I found that 2 penny thickness to be too much and 6th gear sometimes will not enter and the bike slams the gear back down to 5th because the feed dog catches before it engages. After seeing many people changing clutches and springs and other mods I found that 1mm freeplay works best in high rev shifting and low speed shifting. 😮

      The free play is also going to depend on how good of condition the clutch plates are in. As long as there is some free play I'm sure it'll probably be fine

    Hey mate, might be a stupid question but did you switch out the “brake switches module things” with the Ninja 400 brake switches which eliminates the mirror holes?

    • @BLRTUNING
      @BLRTUNING  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I happen to have some extra clamps laying around that don't have the pegs for the old mirrors so that's why they're deleted

      @@BLRTUNING I got sad cause I didn’t heed your warnings of using a ‘thin 17mm spanner’ and one afternoon on a break from work, I bought a thick 17mm spanner and hastily cracked open the bolt. In turn shredding that mirror mounting nub, now looking like crap. And it was seriously depressing me. But, I literally just rewatched your video. And you said you can replace them. Thank f, honestly thought I’d have to either live with it or somehow replace the whole ‘brake lever module thing’. Cheers mate, thanks for replying and I’m loving your videos, it’s helping me mod my own Z400. Also subbed you bro, love from Aus 🤙

    Hello sir, can i ask if those aftermarket lever can help to soften the clutch?

    • @BLRTUNING
      @BLRTUNING  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They definitely give you a little bit more leverage so while they are not actually softening the clutch yes they do feel like that.

    Have you ran into any issues or do you recommend these levers?

      Haven't had any issues whatsoever. Still rocking them. They are good quality

    Aren't those foldable levers more dangerous? Like for example you could fold it with your hand by accident when doing emergency braking?

    • @BLRTUNING
      @BLRTUNING  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No that's not the case whatsoever. They only fold when they are pushed straight up from the bottom. Meaning when your hand is on top of the lever squeezing in towards you you would never accidentally move it in the upward position. It's not something that I've ever experienced and I've had foldable levers on every bike that I've owned. If you drop the bike the lever will fold upward and the majority of the time will not end up broken in half and leaving you stranded.

    do these work on the 2023 z400? I just dropped my bike and my clutch lever is really bent

    what grease do u use

    • @BLRTUNING
      @BLRTUNING  ปีที่แล้ว

      You can use any type of Grease. I usually use blue marine Grease for most projects where I want the grease to stay for a long time unlike lubricant like wd-40. You wouldn't want to use WD-40.

      If you drop the bike the levers will fold upward instead of breaking in half or getting bent.

    When it comes to controls, I WON'T buy chinesium 💩. Use the cheapo's for a day and the use like some CRG RC2's, BIG difference.

      No matter what you're using you definitely want to inspect it and make sure that the quality looks up to par. I ran these ones on a few different bikes and have never had any issues whatsoever. The quality is just as good as the higher-end ones. As a matter of fact some of the higher-end ones are literally the exact same thing. The sad part is the Chinese knockoff parts are getting better and better over the years. It used to be that a Chinese knockoff part was exactly what it sounds like. Dirt cheap and very poor quality pot steel. Now they're using high grade aluminum that is properly anodized. Crazy times that we live in these days. You would think that the US could come out with a part that is better quality for a better price. It's actually shown to be quite the opposite unfortunately. Trust me I'm a huge fan of using higher-end parts myself. If you watch some of my other videos you'll see that I usually don't go cheap on anything. So I'm not saying I disagree with you whatsoever. However what I am saying is that these are actually pretty darn decent quality for the price.
