My first motorcycle was a 1994 yamaha XT350, bought used back in 2008. With the help of it, I completed high school, University and my first working years. I have further meet my wife on top of it, and travelled extensively trough Europe. It currently has 288.000 kms, with 2 engine repairs.
ive ridden many bikes but something about the xt 350 i just love. fast nimble comfortable easy to work on. even the dual carb set up isnt hard to work on.
its pretty clean always likede the xt 600 got out hospital otherday this is number 1867 video of what ive watched while on vaction in hospital lol still watching got 1100 videos left to watch give or take lol
98% of my riding with a 2011 XT250 is done on gravel back roads which sometimes intersect with highways. The XT250 tops out at around 50-55 mph which just doesn't cut it with vehicular traffic. Not wanting a big, heavy 650, I picked up a well-cared for '87 XT350 about a month ago. It was adult-owned with only 3400 miles( that reads three thousand, four hundred miles) on it and no signs of it ever being off the road. I'm looking forward to seeing what it'll do on the highway when the time comes.
That was my bike after my 82 XT125, but was an 85. Yes, it was a wheelie monster and was bullet proof. Front travel was 10", rear was 8.7". only thing missing is fork boots.
My first enduro, I had a 98 though. It was a great bike that never gave me ANY problems. Super nimble and light but the suspension sucked for any real offroading. On the street though, it was fun and goid around town. I rode it almost everyday to work and school over a year. Sold it for a XR650R that was plated
I have a 93 xt350 I bought about 6 years ago, ran like crazy initially, brought it to a local Yamaha dealership I trust, they tuned the carb. Said someone had messed with it and it had the wrong size jets in it, and they did a leak test on the valves and said everything was good. A lot of clatter noise in the right front cover, always suspected valves needed to be adjusted. Bike would only do about 50mph and didn't have any low end torque. Let my father drive the bike for 2 months and it quit on him, doesn't have any compression and has been off the road ever since. Bike had about 9k on it
Excellent overall bike.. Light feel to it, and a fantastic Wheelie Machine.., I can attest to that.. Like an early 90's DR 350, but better.. Nice Wheelies, Ken... 🏁🇺🇸🏁
I love all motorcycles but my history runs deep with the Yamaha back to 1972 with my first GT 80 and all of my championships in Motocross and Arenacross were on Yamaha so that's a big reason why but I do love my KLR 650 and my XR 650 Honda I'm a big dude and I ride with the Christy on the back a lot
i helped a buddy get a 600 xt same red and white out of hiding hadnt ran in 20 years .had it running and oil changed and new tires on the next day was a cat walk machine also ...hard to start kick over ...have tobe a beast to make it kick off ...and fire up ..350 would be nicer.
Mine is a 97 and it has never been able to do 90 lol. It revs out at around 80. It is a fun ride from the city to the trail and back but I don't like the highway. Fun little bike but not for jumping at all.
Don't need the kickstand switch, the wires are male and females specifically so you can bypass it. I have mx suspension front and rear on mine. I do plenty of huge jumps kickstand stays up fine.
@@ddhh6552 I used a 2014 raptor 700r se shock. Hi/low compression. Was only $125 through Yamaha parts channels. Mounting bolts are the same size. I had to cut off the reservoir and thread it with ORB fittings. Then ran a stainless hose to under the left side panel. You have to grind the linkage stop a little bit to permit more travel. This setup would need resprung for most people, but I weigh 155 lbs. Front end is 2001 yz125. Steering stops work without modification. I shrunk-fit a top bearing sleeve to the stem, machined it down. Made a ~3/4" thick aluminum spacer on top of the top dust cap. Also used a spacer to go underneath the top bearing cup in the frame. I used the "all balls" fork conversion chart to find suitable bearings.
@@ddhh6552 It rides very well. Weirdly, it made it perfectly stable at 65 mph too, despite being 3 or 4 inches taller. I trimmed some weight down by converting to led lighting, and I think it's about as good as it gets for a dual sport. The rear drum works sufficiently, but would be nice to convert to disk brake and aluminum swing arm to save 5 lbs. There is a video of it on my channel.
I do like the dual sport motorcycle a lot but I did got a new Suzuki DR200S that is a 2020 and I really injoy riding it a lot ? This June I’m picking up a new Kawasaki Klx 300 that is coming in 2021 that I getting a second dual sport motorcycle that I can ride also at home or on the road or trails near by.
Hi Mr Kaplan , I use to have a 2000 Yamaha xt 350 that I sold to someone about a year ago that I buy from lanes Yamaha in 2000 in Watkins Glen New York
Hi first I have to say I love this channel. I love the 2 strokes. Specially the old ones. For a road bike I guess it's better with this 4 stroke. The question I have right now is why do you carry a revolver?
My friend aka Uncle Dale was followed out of the Target store after paying cash $600 for his purchase buy a scumbag Lowlife who pulled a gun on him and pointed it right in his face and told him give him the billfold or he was going to blow his head off. Uncle Dale reached in his pocket like you was grabbing the money and actually grabbed his 25 caliber handgun his grandfather gave him and shot the thief in the cock and balls when he fell to the ground he stomped his face in with his Chippewa boots... it's a tough world we live in dog eat dog. If he did not have his handgun for protection he would be a dead broke man. He's fine in a judge agreed that he did nothing wrong it was self-defense however the perpetrator is now a eunuch with no testicles and lucky to be alive. I'm not sure if you watch the news much but it's getting crazy out there and some of the area's I go to without a handgun would be pretty risky.
@@KaplanCycles thank u for the fast & honest answer! I live in Sweden and here we have much harder weapon restrictions. it starting to get worse and worse here to. in that situation I rather have a gun then not have. (But if it happens to me, like tomorrow I would be broke and I guess Dead or crippled.) I guess the ones that have a weapon here are in law enforcement or are a hunter. Again thanks for an awesome channel! I try to watch everyday one or two videos or like today I watched about 4 hours.
Great looking bike. Just bought a ‘93 XT350 and need to replace the tires. What tires does this bike have, brand and size - looks awesome! Thx from MN.
I bought a bridgestone trail wings for mine. Size 80/100 r21 in the front and 120/80 r18 in the back. Those are the tires that the new XT250 is coming with, and they fit perfectly the XT350. Good on the road and good off the road.
Xt350s had a super stiff clutch. Best to change to an easy puller. Also if you can find one of the new rear shocks made aftermarket. All the original rear shocks are not good at this time due to thr gasket releasing gas
I have the TT350 2001 not much difference can't wait to get her out on the trail of Western Australia keep safe guys were living in some carzy time Trump 2024

Man, wish they still made this beauty of a bike !
The new klx300 dual sport is basically the closest you can get to this. As an owner of both bikes.
@@781destroyer how much newer does the Kaw feel ? Probably skinnier and of course flatter
Starting off with a wheelie thats what I'm talking about kap💪😎🇺🇲

I still have an xt350 and you are correct. The suspension sucks. Don't try any big jumps. It bottoms out on the small ones.

Mine would do over 90, and correct, horrible jumper. the kickstand bounces on landing and his the kill switch causing it to stutter on landing.
Don't need the kickstand switch, the wires are male and females specifically so you can bypass it. I have mx suspension front and rear on mine. I do plenty of huge jumps kickstand stays up fine.
@apodski Which suspension parts did you go with. I heard the xt600 rear shock helps, but what did you use on the front?
